The ministry is not 'milking' anything; it is basically just state accounting. They are best at calculating. It is the same as in the private sector - accountants know the numbers best. I have 25 years of experience in this field. The difference is that the state is run by elected people, not knowledgeable business managers. That is why absurd nonsense is heard that 'accountants are to blame'. In a private company, the board does not do that, because that would mean the board are monkeys and the result is bankruptcy. Such a business ends.

@KBBergis @Andrejs96162082 Ireland once set up an offshore and earned its wealth. Now this practice was cancelled for them. But they didn't take away the wealth.

@Andrejs96162082 @guntarsv Ireland has many opportunities - American whales have chosen Ireland as their European home. You don't even need to bother with oil to live well. :)

@ArtjomsMilovs @VadimsLasenko One can allow for such a possibility. It really can be so, you are right Artjom👍 If there is a need, the responsible institutions will be able to find out very simply.

@CerinsAivis @VadimsLasenko Why don't you allow for the possibility that all taxes were paid from this money?

I wouldn't even have to defend a candidate or minister from another party, but this is a matter of state and on the merits. The Foreign Minister's decision on “persona non grata” is a fast process that lies exclusively within the Foreign Minister's competence. The Interior Minister has to carry out procedural steps and must receive an opinion from competent state institutions, which can also mean the decision being stalled at lower levels. If Dombrava is calling for a direct declaration of “non grata”, then I assume there is a basis for it. And that is your competence. It is a faster process. And this is a decisive time. If the occupier had not been toppled before the 2022 elections, it would still be standing, because afterwards there would not have been the necessary pressure from public opinion. It looks to me like delay over the chance to get rid of one walking occupier... If there is no result now, we will continue to bring shame on the state.

I disagree. The public finally has the opportunity to see @Braze_Baiba's true face and deeds - if one looks at the deeds, then without loud shouting about support for Ukraine and the evil Kremlin, her deeds show the exact opposite. Both by covering up the Kremlin's very valuable asset Ragozin, and by doing nothing at all to eradicate the pitiful trade with Russia. For example, this year alone alcohol exports to Russia have grown very significantly, and bloody grain is overflowing Latvian ports, etc...

KULBERGS AND STAMBULA It is strange that in yesterday's DELFI TV debate of prime minister candidates, representatives of two parties that call themselves nationally conservative answered “NO!” to the question “SHOULD LATVIA WITHDRAW FROM THE ISTANBUL CONVENTION?”. So “National Alliance” and “United List” are not value parties that follow ideological conviction, but “social barometers” that swing depending on the direction of the wind. Whatever is convenient is said. How can one vote for people if their decision-making filter is political expediency? In such a mindset, it is impossible to predict a party's course, because there is none. In contrast, evaluating ideological parties is understandable. Namely, they have values and principles from which the predictability of positions follows in all proposals considered during a Saeima term. In the case of “social barometers”, on the other hand, a voter can be sure only as far as he or she has questioned his or her favourite on specific issues, because answers can also be contradictory. They are called unprincipled people. You cannot call yourself a vegetarian and eat meat at the same time. Or claim that you are a vegetarian between meat-eating occasions. Currently only two ideological choices are available. “Progressives”, if you are for immigration, fragmentation of society through cultivation of pseudo-identities, state-regulated economy, same-sex marriage, high taxes, leaving inheritance to the state, supporting Gaza terrorists. And WE CHANGE THE RULES, if you are for the natural family, strengthening national identity, small state administration but individual responsibility for one's own life, low taxes, small expenditures and a complete halt to immigration. As seen in the picture, Alvis Hermanis is holding a green leaf in his hands. I too would vote for withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention for the following reasons: 1. The requirements mentioned in the Convention concerning prevention of violence against women, protection of children's rights, provision of psychological support and material compensation to victims of violence are already embedded in the Criminal Law. The remaining wording of the Convention is an ideological transformation of society in a way incompatible with the survival of Latvians. 2. The Convention provides for intrusion into the content of education, providing children from an early age with sexually educational information that does not correspond to the Latvian way of life and the majority society's understanding of what a natural family is, and genders – man and woman. Article 3, point c provides for the introduction of the concept of “social gender”, understood as “socially constructed” roles considered appropriate for men or women. This says that gender is a social construct and an individual's free choice – to be a man or a woman, because that is “right”! This is a plan to reprogram society in order to create a future genderless society in which there are neither borders nor national identity. 3. The Convention already stipulates that the specific articles concerning changing the content of education, redefining the understanding of genders, changing culture, religion and traditions cannot be applied with reservations. This is also a question of constitutional sovereignty. If Latvia's Constitution states that the state protects marriage, meaning a union between a man and a woman, then a convention that paves the way for same-sex marriage will violate this definition. 4. It is contrary to the policy of large families and harmful in a situation where the nation is unable to reproduce itself and does not have children. In the event of ratification of the Convention, such parents who would teach children heteronormative values, now made out to be “evil”, that a man is a man and a woman is a woman, could be punished, as provided for in Article 45, paragraph 2 of the Convention, which would allow children to be removed from families in which it is impossible to guarantee their interests arising from the rest of the document's content. 5. Article 12, paragraph 5 and Article 38 seem strange, which stipulate that crimes against women committed “in defence of so-called honour” are prohibited, as well as genital mutilation, for example, complete or partial excision of the clitoris. It is also stated there that “Parties shall ensure that culture, customs, religion, traditions” are not considered a justification for violence. What cultures are being referred to? Such practices are not followed in Western culture, but in some African and Muslim countries. This reveals another hidden facet of the Convention, namely changing immigration policy. For example, a citizen of an African country is refused the fulfilment of his wish to legally become a woman so that the entry in the passport matches self-identification. Such people will have the right to seek asylum in EU member states that have ratified the Istanbul Convention, under Article 60 of the document “Gender-based asylum applications”, providing refugee status in such cases when a potential “victim” suffers from violence. I advise Mr Kulbergs to read the entire convention, not just its title. Edvarts Krusts, @partijaMMN ZEMGALE REGION No. 1

@IvoButkevics I watch debates for that reason, more precisely, I almost never watch them. In public debates, the best graduate of PR training wins. Snappy catchy phrases. Voice timbre, pauses, etc. You can watch them just enough to find out the best PR specialists.

Economic policy debates always make me depressed. "The state must invest", "the state must direct", "the state must support"...

@andrislov @KBBergis My views have always been that way. Unfortunately, for you as a troll, it is a priority to badmouth voters of other parties, especially right now before the elections. Or to dispute what has been said if it does not fit with bland slogans.

@guntarsv @KBBergis Mr. Vītols, countries become rich where capital is not considered a crime and the entrepreneur is not a suspect.

The Saeima supports the establishment of the Sports Fund! 🇱🇻 In advancing the creation of the Sports Fund, my goal was to achieve clear priorities for the sports sector and a transparent, fair distribution of funding. Sport needs stable and predictable funding so that athletes, coaches and organisations can plan their work and development. The Saeima has just voted +20 ‼️ million for sport over the next four years. Thank you to all sports organisations, sports supporters and also the continuers of the idea started by our @Jauna_Vienotiba for the joint work in the name of the sports sector!

@guntarsv @KBBergis In Ireland, if the salary is up to €1400 per month, no social and income tax is withheld from the employee; only the employer pays its social tax share (9%). FinMin should start learning to save, not just milk and borrow.

🟥 BETRAYAL AGAIN FROM THE UNITED LIST and the NATIONAL ALLIANCE! How can they vote like that and betray their voters - conservatives, supporters of traditional families, and Christians?! Is there really a lack of courage to defend even the traditional family formed by a father and mother?! You still have time to think about who you are ready to vote for! If they have no backbone on such a question, how can we rely on them in other decisive votes?! Where are the promises to defend Latvian values? Take a good look at the voting image with the faces of the deputies and save it so you have a CHEAT SHEET FOR THE ELECTIONS! Judge the works and votes, not just sweet words! P.S. This was a vote on including the project in the agenda of the Saeima session. AS deputies voted AGAINST or did not vote, but the NA deputies indicated in the protocol ABSTAINED.

🟥 AGAIN BETRAYAL FROM THE UNITED LIST and the NATIONAL ALLIANCE! How can one vote like that and betray one's voters—conservatives, supporters of traditional families, and Christians?! Is there truly not enough courage even to defend the traditional family formed by a father and a mother?! You still have time to think about who you are ready to vote for! If they have no spine on such a question, how can we rely on them in other decisive votes?! Where are the promises to defend Latvian values? 🟥 WHAT BATONS ARE THEY PUSHING ON US — THE UNITED LIST?! Kulbergs is FOR the legal recognition of two mothers in a child's documents. Kulbergs is FOR same-sex marriage. But now we are watching the debates, what the United List's candidate says. What is going on in the United List? You each have your own party programme and your own opinion there?! And I will remind you — your Saeima deputies, including Kulbergs, made a solemn promise upon taking office: “I undertake to respect the Latvian Constitution and the laws.” So you yourselves have solemnly promised to respect the Constitution, Article 110 of which clearly states — marriage is a union between a man and a woman. And now I turn to the United List's Christian deputies! During the vote in the Saeima you slipped out of the chamber, you did not vote, but afterwards you make excuses on the internet that Kulbergs supposedly said something else and people simply “misunderstood” him. Then finally say clearly — WHAT IS THE UNITED LIST'S POSITION? Family values in my view come FIRST. Mr. Kulbergs and the United List — and this is not a minor issue! The family is the foundation of the state, and in Latvia's demographic situation the question of family and children is about Latvia's future and survival. PERIOD.

🟥 KULBERGS from the United List and INDRIKSONE from the National Alliance again BETRAY their voters right before the elections, both voted that there is NO need to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention! p.s. Hermanis of MMN thought for a very long time, and Valainis from ZZS has understood what the blue ZS mean, he didn't step on the rake again.

Good day, hon. @AndrisKulbergs! Do you really support de facto bilingualism in Latvia and Russification? It follows from what your interlocutor wrote. Is Bjorka lying? #AtkrieviskoLatviju It would be good if you clarified during the election! Thanks! The Constitution states that Latvia has one official language.
