From@EvikaSilinaViolence against women is not a private family problem. It is the responsibility of the whole society. Important decisions have been made and new solutions introduced in Latvia in recent years to prevent violence. This work must be continued, while honestly talking about situations where people still do not receive help quickly enough or do not know where to look for it. In conversation with @ineselibina and @andacaksa, we discussed what to do if violence affects you or someone close to you, and where to seek help. Violence loves silence, so it is important for us not to stay silent and not to remain indifferent. No one who experiences violence has to face it alone. 👉🏼 Watch the full recording here: https://t.co/o48Gyixuaq

From@EvikaSilinaToday the Latvian football family @kajbumba has a new home. The next big step is the national stadium. ⚽️ During my government, the Cabinet of Ministers took a decision to start work on the national football stadium project and prepare its implementation under a public-private partnership model. This work must be continued. Latvia needs a national football stadium. Football is one of the most important sports for children and young people, and girls' and women's football is also growing in Latvia. This growth needs appropriate infrastructure. Today the Latvian national team plays against Cyprus, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino is also visiting Latvia. This is an important moment to express Latvia's position. For Latvia, the priority right now is security. Russia's war in Ukraine and the threats posed by Russia and Belarus require strengthening our defence. Latvian national teams must not play against Russian or Belarusian national teams. As long as the war in Ukraine continues, there is no place in Latvia for normalising the sport of aggressor states. 📸: LFF

@MatissBicevskis We are in favor of reviewing and, preferably, improving the electoral system. In the 14th Saeima there was no support from other parties for this. We will see what the composition of the 15th Saeima will be.
