@ZiemeleVik In Ireland at all levels (municipalities, parliament, president) for more than a hundred years, also in Malta, the Australian Senate, Scotland and Northern Ireland at certain levels.
@liana_langa The situation is close to losing common sense when a cancer patient is being sought marijuana for pain relief, but the only one who can be sent to get it is grandpa, because ending up in prison for the others would be silly. Unreal obscurantism.
Decriminalization of drugs is one step toward the legalization of drugs. Likewise, "civil partnerships" are one step toward same-sex "marriage." Let us not lose common sense, let us protect ourselves and the future from the blindness of blind gadflies! #RunāLatviskihttps://t.co/HTjT3FDCQs
The absurdity of 3 October – voters of the United List happily think that they will vote for the boldly talkative charismatic Kulbergs, but in the end they will vote for Šķēle, Waterfront and migration. And with high probability – as a result of a coincidence of numbers – for an AS coalition with Šlesers.

1) For a ballot to be valid, you must vote for at least one candidate.
2) You may vote for as many as all candidates in one constituency. Voting means indicating a candidate's preference ranking number. You put a “1” next to the most preferred candidate, “2” next to the second most preferred, etc.
3) Candidates include both independents and party candidates. No one is abolishing factions. Those elected form factions and try to implement their parties' programmes.
@JazepsBasko Where can I read more about that? How many people could I vote for? Would they then form blocs, or would each continue to represent their own party?
“My only ‘crime’ was that I am Crimean Tatar. I am Ukrainian, born in Crimea. And I refuse to take a Russian passport.”
Leniie Umerova spent nearly two years in a Russian prison before turning 26. https://t.co/UOqVlNdoBG
Tonight on AS and LTV the program “Party in Focus”, Bojārs is good, AS is a mess. Not the “Offended List”, but a dragon with three heads, where each head says its own thing. Contradictions. In one program they say one thing, in another – almost the opposite. Smiltēns is very much pushing for “prime minister”, but he talks like a rookie MP, even though he is the Minister of Justice. The idea of repealing the Civil Service Law was stolen from MMN. Kučinskis is dozing off, age takes its toll. Still, AS does read MMN's program. That's the good news.
I reviewed the parties to vote for. My demands: small government, personal freedoms, low taxes, less business regulation, a strong and large army. None of the old parties meets even one of these demands. I almost feel like voting for ASL, which promises much larger armed forces — maybe they will still get into the Saeima and split its composition.
The current financial hole that, willing or not, will have to be filled, * ~3/4 of it is the legacy of the previous coalition (🟩 - was valued until the change of power, 🟥 - was calculated and discovered later) * ~1/4 are the decisions of the current coalition 🟨 https://t.co/KYiqXdvES7
@AlvisHermanis1 But what exactly would change significantly? In parties, for the most part, the opinions are the same. If different ones are elected, or will all 100 opinions coincide right away? Specific people will be elected. But each will still represent their party and the party's voters. Explain, so that I change my opinion!
@martinsstals Sending greetings to children on their birthday could carry a 2-year prison sentence.. While there is temp. protection, they are robbing apartments/houses, and the police don't accept the theft report—they demand receipts proving such belongings existed.. (they remain at the place of residence; not everything has been preserved at all). 2/3
@TRobinsonNewEra Only complete fucking idiots sympathise with Russia, don’t blame them for invading, for the slaughter, for erasing cities and towns. For hunting civilians down with FPV drones and blowing them up. Russia is a cancer in this world and the Nazi Germany of today.
In my circle there are far more of those than I would like.. unfortunately. And it doesn't look like much here could change within reasonable timeframes.
This is a cool country - where most of what is related to state work is run by petty, grey, untalented ... but rarely cunning people. For decades now.
When I see what those Briškens, Evuči, Ašeradens and so on bring...
What the Health, Education, Defence and other ministries have done over these years. Can anyone name one ministry or state institution where everything is even a little bit such that one could, at least for a moment, be proud of what has been done!
The older daughter studied at the Medical University of Glasgow. At the same time, Pīks' daughter was also studying there. Political science. Already during her studies it was considered that she also worked in Brussels at the same time, receiving pre-arranged pay there, in their own structures. To my question, how do medical studies differ from political science studies?
My daughter's answer was - like day and night, or like a hippopotamus and a flea - anyone can study those [political sciences] there, and compared to the requirements and workload of a medical study programme, political science is simply comical. Further, the Pīks offspring's career after obtaining the Glasgow paper flew forward, not by years, but by months https://t.co/E5hblbirFX and so on - smoothly and without a hitch, now already in Switzerland.
That is all you need to know about these wonder children, including Levits' daughter Indra. It is not about abilities, it is about something completely different.
And it doesn't matter - about the major Pildegovičs, or about Braže's daughter - when she grows up... or about any other genius offspring of this ridiculous elite.
That is why in foreign affairs we are where we are - in fact between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Albania. And these fools' loud boasting about their mighty influences - addressed to the people of Latvia - does not count. Especially since it does not correspond to the truth.
Our [daughter] returned home for a moment. She understood what is happening here with young doctors, the attitude towards them, and went back. There they welcomed her with open arms.
Residency already in Edinburgh. So she stayed there. She now runs a stroke division at a large clinic. Satisfied with everything. Besides, a house has been bought there and is already paid off.
For us it is happy and sad at the same time... that not here!
It's good there are two more. They at least are here for now. But they too see and understand everything here. And the middle one already has offers from abroad too.
The youngest, however, says he will hold out here to the last. Probably that's why he chose to connect his life with the NBS.
But when I look at these blockheads, gobblers and the usual cretins...
I reviewed the parties to vote for. My requirements: small state administration, personal freedoms, low taxes, less business regulation, a strong and large army. None of the old parties meet even one of these requirements. I almost feel like voting for ASL, which promises much larger armed forces — maybe it will still make it into the Saeima and fracture its composition.
You have to be a completely biased idiot to rate the stupid raccoon’s rotten female @ZKLukasevica higher than @J_Hermanis or AS @guntarsv in terms of economic understanding. @Ekonomisti_LV, aren’t you ashamed to discredit yourselves so much? Though, what is there even left to discredit https://t.co/g2orG7g16x
Seeing yesterday's SKDS party ratings, 4 conclusions:
1. Most Latvians eat soup with a fork, not a spoon. MMN proposes changing the election law so that in the future people vote not for parties but for specific individuals. But the ratings show that the people stubbornly want to entrust their fate again to the same old parties, where no one ever answers for anything.
2. Even in the questionable SKDS rating, it is clear that MMN will definitely cross the 5% barrier, because undecided voters always prefer newcomers, or those who have the ambition to change the rules. And that is exactly what we plan to do.
3. Kulbergs has already guaranteed his election, so his viģiku fans should think about the fact that now strategically it is more important for them to vote not for Kulbergs, but for his possible coalition partners who will push him toward a real, not fake, change of the rules. Otherwise, his partners will again be JV/NA/ZZS/PRO and everything will be as before.
4. MMN can carry out its main task (changing the election law) even if it gets in with a minimal number of deputies, because without them a coalition cannot be formed, and then MMN is the "golden card" and the chance to get it through.
MMN, also known as list No. 2
