While European great powers convene their political leaders to inform about the real situation and the threats of Russia's military invasion, in Latvia this is an ordinary Friday with shortened working hours in state institutions. That's just how it is. Nothing to worry about, tomorrow is Saturday after all.

Come to the real world in Jūrmala. Young Latvians bow in Russian to a Russian youth. And the choice of English for young people is also a direct consequence of the crime of Russification in Latvia, which has planted the idea in some people that the Latvian language is not a value. Parents are Russified, children - Anglicized. Russification is a problem. Many Latvians rushed to defend the Russian language against Latvian. It looks like you are doing something similar! Not so directly, but you are!

Since I live in the real world and quite often I have to overhear random conversations on the street or in transport, sometimes I hear behind me a pair of girlfriends talking in English. You think - tourists? No, young Latvian girls, as indicated by the fact that occasionally a Latvian word is inserted in the conversation. This is the real problem in 2026, which, if nothing changes, will end the Latvians in about one and a half generations by their own will.

Europe’s failure to punish Russia despite years of sabotage, airspace violations, assassinations & attempted bombings emboldened the Kremlin & showed them their tactics work. Our leaders’ weakness invited escalation. It’s now likely too late for deterrence. We need to prepare.

If anyone thinks that after the start of possible Russian attacks on Latvia, Rinkēvičs, Siliņa, Sprūds, Šuvajevs will feel even a little guilty before the public for criminal inaction - forget it, they have had no humility and no desire to serve Latvians.

@B03091315B That is the least they can do to save their own asses. The worst part is that as a result of these bastards' actions, children and old people will suffer.

@kr_klavins And the best part is that these idiots will get free tickets on charters😡😡😡

When Lato Lapsa wrote about three months ago that all electricity substations should be surrounded with anti-drone nets, many here snickered and laughed. Have you bought candles, generators, and firewood?

Dear @Ryanair, Ryanair rented a ballroom to announce two aircraft and Riga as this year’s “winner”. It seems their scratch cards have finally made their way from the cabin to the strategy department. But their own announcement makes the point better than we could. Riga has “won” this year’s round. Tallinn and Vilnius have won previous ones – and their reward this winter is a 25% capacity cut. That exposes the paradox at the heart of Ryanair’s proposal: long-term investment cannot be re-auctioned every year. A commitment that has to be won again each season – at an ever lower price – is not much of a commitment. The Baltics need reliable, long-term connectivity, not an annual auction to see who is prepared to offer the cheapest landing. That is a difficult model to call a long-term connectivity strategy. https://t.co/aOZJYQOxlB

This was at the JV office. We can also move to other parties' offices, because “migration is a problem”, but it would be better to make this choice on 3 October. https://t.co/rz1qdav1oA

📣 The National Alliance advocates for the actual liquidation of the SIF, because it is obvious and clear that in its current form the SIF has exhausted itself. ❌️The Society Integration Foundation has generously spent funding, but has brought no integration to our society. Only those who themselves wish to integrate can be integrated into society. That means – learning the state language, genuinely fitting into the Latvian cultural space and information space, understanding Latvia's history and today's realities. That means – becoming a loyal citizen of Latvia. That means – in the hybrid war that Russia and Belarus are waging against us, to side with the Latvian state, not with the aggressor state. That means: if necessary, defending the Latvian state. ‼️Research shows that only about 10% of those Latvian residents whose family language is Russian are ready to militarily defend Latvia if necessary, and only about 18%, when talking about Russia's aggression against Ukraine, side with Ukraine. These data may indicate millions spent, but not achieved results in the field of integration. 📍At the same time, the National Alliance believes that social integration projects, which also receive EU funding, should be continued. A very small institution or agency could continue to do this. #SIF #integration #Ukraine #Latvia @Nacionālā

@virsnoudens I'm not saying there is no plan, but I would like to hear specialists' speculations about such a plan. NATO is an alliance of states, which means each state is subject to existing policy. Slovakia announced it would not fight in the case of Article 5.

@AndrisVelps You seriously discredit NATO if you doubt that there are no plans for such a scenario.
