LET'S LIQUIDATE THE MINISTRY OF CLIMATE AND ENERGY Every month in Latvia 1000 people are born and 2000 die. The population is shrinking, but the state apparatus is growing. For example, this Saeima created the Ministry of Climate and Energy (KEM), without whose functions Latvia can manage. Its main task is to fulfill EU climate policy requirements to reduce CO2 emissions in Latvia and the world. That is why KEM drafts laws that increase the cost of economic activity, natural resources, solid fuel and fuel, to reduce construction, natural resource extraction and the use of internal combustion cars, i.e., the largest sectors that emit CO2. However, these are also the largest areas that create economic added value. Latvia must abandon the Green Deal directives if they restrict strategic sectors and reduce the population's well-being by raising the cost of living. Unwanted bureaucrats have no right to dictate the rules of an independent state's economy in the name of utopian ideas. Latvians' friendly attitude toward nature is an integral sign of our mentality, and we can write our own rules ourselves.

⚠️HERE YOU CAN FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE ENTIRE DOCUMENT: https://t.co/j8tZaBt9W8

🟥 SCANDAL! DID YOU KNOW THAT RUSSIA'S STATE AGENCY IS DEMANDING MORE THAN 260 MILLION EUROS FROM airBaltic IN COURT?! The Russian Deposit Insurance Agency, managing the bankrupt Investbank, wants to recover more than 260.8 million euros from Latvia's national airline. This was reported by InvestFuture on 11 August, citing RIA Novosti. The government, airBaltic management, and the President have a question: what did you know about this claim, and why were Saeima deputies and the public not informed about this debt recovery? FACT CHRONOLOGY: ▪️ 11 August 2026. InvestFuture reports on a claim exceeding 260.8 million euros. A Moscow court has postponed the case to October following airBaltic's request for time to submit additional evidence, including Latvian court rulings. ▪️ Q1 2026 report. airBaltic itself cites a claim of 203.15 million euros: 16.5 million euros in principal, plus default and penalty interest. The company, citing its lawyers, assesses the claim's chances as very limited. ▪️ 5 March 2024. According to airBaltic's report, proceedings in the new claim case were suspended; the hearing was later postponed several times. ▪️ 2023. The Russian agency filed a new claim to recover credit debts directly from airBaltic. ▪️ 2019. The agency asked to declare loan and guarantee agreements invalid. Its argument: loans to BAS actually served to finance airBaltic. ▪️ 2017. Latvia received a request for legal assistance from Moscow. LSM reported on a claim exceeding 20 million euros. Latvian authorities had to assess the enforceability of judgments. ▪️ 16 August 2013. In one of the initial cases, a Moscow court upheld Investbank's claim against airBaltic for 11.1 million euros. ▪️ March 2012. Litigation began over three BAS loans. The bank demanded 18.4 million euros, considering airBaltic as guarantor. ▪️ 2011. Investbank issued loans to the then airBaltic shareholder Baltijas Aviācijas Sistēmas. The bank considered airBaltic as guarantor, but the airline later disputed the existence of guarantees in court. WHY did the prime minister and ministers not also inform Saeima deputies about this Russian litigation and its possible consequences when deciding on the allocation of funding to airBaltic?

Reference to airBaltic's own Q1 2026 financial report. On page 40, in the section “AKB Investbank”, the company discloses a claim brought against it in the amount of EUR 203.15 million, including a principal amount of EUR 16.5 million and calculated late payment and penalty interest. This is airBaltic's public financial document.

Latvia is very "close" to such a situation! Other parties want to continue the third-country migration policy. ASL - to stop and promote emigration. https://t.co/VKMjsF3Hpg

I have said this and I will repeat myself — something has gone seriously wrong with the sentences imposed by the German court system. In the center of Frankfurt, Mohammad S. ran over 23-year-old twins who were on a bike path — both died. A third man in the group lost a leg and became disabled after spending a month in a coma. The accused left the scene, later returned and surrendered. The sentence? For killing two people and maiming one — 3 years in prison. https://t.co/QgWKJHphXa

@AndrisKulbergs @aldis_viesturs @MarisKaminskis @jarinovska @VL_TBLNNK @JanisVitenbergs LB both issues euro banknotes and coins and participates in their printing (eurozone countries do this jointly and coordinated, sharing costs). The current rise in inflation has not monetary but geopolitical causes (conflicts in the Middle East etc.), and monetary policy suppresses it! https://t.co/FCahyPGEYQ

Canada as the first EU associate member? Such a political proposal has been made by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This is not yet a legally defined status or a decision, but an offer to create a completely new model of EU-Canada relations. The goal is to move from the CETA trade agreement to a much deeper future alliance, namely a common economic security space, closer defense industry cooperation, as well as joint projects in energy, critical raw material supplies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and projects in the Arctic. The foundation is already established. Since CETA's application, EU-Canada goods trade has increased by 75%. For Latvia, this is not a distant foreign policy topic. Canada leads NATO's multinational brigade in Latvia and has applied to participate in the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF), where Latvia, the other Baltic and Nordic countries, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom cooperate. Canada's closer integration with the EU would strengthen European security, economic resilience, and the ability to reduce strategic dependence on authoritarian regimes. Latvia should support this idea, while demanding that the new status be filled with concrete rights, obligations, and joint projects, not just remain a political name.

The US Congress approves broader sanctions against Russia. The goal of the sanctions should be measurable, namely to reduce Russia's income, not just to add to the lists of sanctioned persons. The bill would allow sanctioning Russian banks, war supporters and those involved in circumventing sanctions, as well as targeting the shadow fleet. The most significant new instrument is the possibility for the US president to impose tariffs of up to 100% on five countries that are the largest importers of Russian crude oil or natural gas, as well as countries that help circumvent sanctions on Russian oil. These sanctions would affect not only Russia, but also countries that are still open to cooperation with Russia. The law still needs to be signed by the president. However, a significant question remains whether the new powers will actually be used against the shadow fleet, financial intermediaries and the largest energy resource buyers.

What will Trump do?

🚨 BREAKING: U.S. House passes sweeping “hellish sanctions” bill targeting Russia The legislation now goes to Donald Trump for his signature — nearly a year and a half after the late Senator Lindsey Graham first introduced the proposal. The House passed the bill by 262 votes to 159. The legislation targets Russia’s energy and defense sectors, as well as the country’s “shadow fleet” of tankers used to circumvent existing sanctions. It is the most significant Ukraine-related legislation passed by Congress since Trump returned to the White House and Republicans took control of both chambers in January 2025.

@DievaSuns @Valsts_drosiba Do we really need the lady to have a transfer in Swedbank from FSB with a payment order - royalty to an agent, according to contract? @Valsts_drosiba really cannot find any connection with Russia for the lady? Like earlier for Ždanoka? No instruments?
