I am skeptical about withdrawing from the 2nd pension level, because then the only old-age 'cushion' would be the 1st level, which will become increasingly thinner due to the demographic situation. To make people trust 2PL more, we could consider improving its returns, matching risks to age groups, reducing management fees, or similar. In some cases, early withdrawal from 2PL could be economically justified (for example, for medical treatment to restore work capacity, repaying high-interest loans, reasonable investments, or similar), but it is impossible to say how large the respective population groups are.
Latvia’s 🇱🇻 Foreign Minister @Braze_Baiba participated in the informal meeting of EU 🇪🇺 foreign ministers, known as #Gymnich, where she emphasised that the threat posed by Russia to Europe, including the attempted drone attack on Leipzig Airport, constitutes state-sponsored terrorism.
At the meeting, the Minister discussed support for Ukraine 🇺🇦, the situation in the Middle East and the strengthening of the EU's external action, and agreed with Canada's 🇨🇦 Foreign Minister @AnitaAnandMP to cooperate closely and share information in the search for missing nationals in Nepal 🇳🇵

@VRudzitis Well, that's also the focus question. Sector management. Ministerial responsibility. Ministers change, but the approach doesn't. They shout in the public space with the usual 'give new money' slogan, but it's like a black hole. And experts have been saying this for a long time - without internal reforms, money won't solve anything.
@guntarsv Over the last 10 years, the health budget has tripled. Has medical staff pay grown similarly? And service availability? Quality? I suspect that all the increase goes to 1) builders, 2) reimbursable medications, 3) expensive underutilized medical equipment.
In its proposed amendments, ZZS suggests establishing parliament's subordination to the State Audit review to the extent specified in the Saeima's Rules of Procedure. The Progressives have also prepared similar amendments. Saeima deputies decided that the amendments should be submitted for review to the Saeima Legal Commission and the Public Administration and Local Government Commission https://t.co/yZRQp4UYuj
25 Saeima deputies voted for the expression of no confidence, including 'Latvia First' (LPV), 'Progressives' and former and current 'Stability!' deputies, while 64 coalition deputies did not support the interior minister's resignation https://t.co/6tnhDVPM69https://t.co/Y7zvoVsimc

@EdvinsSnore Can NA finally clearly confirm that under no circumstances will it form a coalition with Šlesers on October 4? Or will the current rhetoric about waiting for election results continue?
Just now LPV+PRO+Rosļikov's party again agreed on a common position. This time demanding Dombrava's resignation. The Saeima rejected it. https://t.co/IyrrBPcl8J
