🎾 “Without economic growth, there are no good salaries, no strong education, no health system, and no national security. The state can only spend the money that the economy has actually earned first, not merely base the state budget on endless borrowing. If GDP grows slowly, no new reserve appears in the budget. Then schools, hospitals, roads, and the army start dividing among themselves the same too-small sum, while the state continues to finance the shortfall through debt,” concludes Juris Pūce (@pucej), economist and leader of the “Latvijas attīstībai” Saeima election list in Vidzeme. 📈 What must be done for Latvia’s economy to grow? From@atis_svinkaPilsrundāle Secondary School shows what can be achieved if school leadership and the local community do not give up. The school has attracted local youth, created new education programs, and improved its offering. Results confirm this. In the Ata Kronvald Foundation school ranking, the Great Owl, Pilsrundāle Secondary School has risen from 29th to a shared 4th place in the group of small schools in Latvia this year. The new school year began with 383 students, 16 more than last year. A 10th grade with 20 students was created, and student numbers also grew in 11th grade. The school network cannot be kept unchanged. But the future of a school must not be decided by a single column in a table. If we ask a school to prove it can attract students, offer quality education, and develop, then we must also be ready to recognize the achieved result and help continue what has been started. Pilsrundāle Secondary School has been given a monitoring period until the end of the year. During this time, the municipality and the state must help the school consolidate what has been achieved, rather than already deciding its future in advance. Life outside Riga must not mean fewer opportunities to get a good education. The Pilsrundāle example shows that quality education is not only a privilege of Riga. This experience should also be used elsewhere in Latvia, helping regional schools find their specialization, attract youth, and become stronger. https://t.co/VirTjeHQWv

@Lidotajs @VL_TBLNNK @janisdombrava Stop fantasizing, it was submitted a month in advance, everyone could read it. That it hasn't been coordinated with LTRK is understandable. And it won't be coordinated either.
From@Lidotajs@AnsisPupols @VL_TBLNNK @janisdombrava ✅ Submitting the topic for discussion an hour before the meeting (I won't go into terms), not coordinating with any ministry beforehand, and then yelling that someone is lobbying and that's why the government doesn't want to review the anti-migration plan. Guys, your work style is excellent, I will definitely vote for NA. https://t.co/wcS809AJeP

This time in the Baltic neighbors' competition, the point is on our side. 🇱🇻 In Q2 2026, the Latvian economy grew by 3.0% while Estonia by 1.8%. 📈 These results do not appear overnight. The previous government's purposeful work on economic growth, investments and competition laid the foundation for what we see today. Reform results are not always visible immediately – sometimes they take years. But the most important thing is to persistently move forward. And today we see concrete results, for example, growth in investments +6.5% and exports +7.7%. Also, promoting banking competition is part of this work. More competition means greater pressure on banks to offer better conditions for people and companies and to use our economy's potential more effectively. 3% is not a coincidence and not the final result. It is proof that persistent work yields results. This time we are ahead. Now we must do everything to ensure that Latvia's growth is not a one-quarter success story, but a long-term trend.

From@realvalkovskisReflections after today's “KNL”. The Latvian state is a conglomerate. Mortals usually cannot manage a conglomerate, so two supermen have applied (Kulbergs and Dombrava). They delve into EVERYTHING. I still want to insist that the conglomerate itself is the real enemy. The real Superman will be not the one who heroically manages the conglomerate, but the one who destroys it, creating in its place a humane, small, but effective administration. Here we need someone who cuts the Gordian knot, not one who heroically unravels it.

Interior Minister Jānis Dombrava (NA) survives the Saeima vote of no confidence. 25 deputies voted for no confidence in the minister, while 64 voted against. https://t.co/ZvDdxB37Sd
💪 Today @VL_TBLNNK confirmed that behind Interior Minister @janisdombrava there is a wall. ❗️❗️❗️We will not allow migrant lobby pressure to stop the Anti-Migration Plan. 🇱🇻 The financial interests of owners of universities educating Pakistanis are not the interests of the Latvian state and people. Likewise, those who pay low wages to Uzbeks can sit at the wheel! Riga will not be Londonstan! #Dombrava
📄 Latvia needs a clear and unified migration policy that effectively prevents abuse of the system, rather than creating ever new restrictions on legal employment. 📌 LDDK again invites Interior Minister @janisdombrava to a conversation with employer representatives – migration policy cannot be shaped in isolation from the labour market, economy, and business needs. 👉🏼 In LDDK's view, before introducing ever new restrictions, the effective functioning of existing control mechanisms, cooperation of state institutions, and data interoperability must be ensured. New restrictions must be justified by data and impact assessment. https://t.co/kGan43CmzO
How Latvia can avoid losing its people
I was also very surprised by this.
From@viuksmpOh, @KNL_LTV1 Šuvajevs wants to cancel marked agricultural fuel. It's clear that the progressives don't count on the votes of rural people, but how can the destruction of huge industries seem like an economic gain to them?
