❓ What is actually being decided about “airBaltic” today? The most important thing is that the Saeima is not deciding today to grant new money to “airBaltic”. Today's decision is about whether the state will retain the opportunity to participate in negotiations with “airBaltic” creditors and defend Latvia's interests in the company's restructuring process. The situation is not simple. “airBaltic” has accumulated large debts, and the previously attracted expensive bonds have placed a heavy financial burden on the company. Simply continuing to invest taxpayer money is not a solution. But allowing the company to cease operations would also be irresponsible. “airBaltic” connects Latvia to the world, provides jobs, and is a significant part of our economy. Therefore, an opportunity is now being given to try to fix the company. For the first time, there is a concrete plan – to reduce the debt burden, put the company's operations and finances in order, and then attract a strategic investor. The state cannot and must not maintain the airline alone in the long term. ❗ So what is the Saeima deciding today? – defer the 18 million euro loan payment owed to the state; – allow the restructuring of existing state claims; – allow the state to participate in bondholder negotiations and be at the table where decisions about “airBaltic”'s future are made. This is not a decision to grant “airBaltic” another 30 million euros. If a specific state financial contribution is needed in the future, that will have to be decided separately. The choice now is stark – do nothing and risk “airBaltic” ceasing operations, or use the last opportunity to fix the company while defending taxpayer interests. The goal is clear – “airBaltic” that can fly and earn without regular state money injections, and a strategic investor who, together with the state, takes responsibility for the company's future. Latvia needs good connectivity with the world. But Latvia's people should not pay endlessly for the airline's losses. #APVIENOTAISSARAKSTS #airBaltic #Saeima #Valdība #AndrisKulbergs

I am for the current approach and the transparency of officials' declarations, I have nothing to hide. Also, there is already a non-public part about property and other values that belong to the official. https://t.co/kkczlYA8mb

The statement by the President and Prime Minister that the database of declarations of state officials will not be freely accessible, i.e., transparency of information will be restricted, requires an apology from these two officials and condemnation from other officials. @EdmundsJurevics https://t.co/ueUDMclP4Q

meh. Access only for journalists... such an FSB-instigated Kozins, Jemberga and co come and legally research everything needed. At the same time, the saga of the small thieving PRO damsels' apartments would not have come to light if access were not for everyone. https://t.co/yz6l5WDHOn

Good day, @jarinovska I will explain, the stolen data of @CSDD_LV and others create a huge profiling risk for our state guards, services, border guards, police officers, etc. The @vid_gov database, which can be viewed and used by other countries' services and regularly updated without any effort, without any authentication, is a gross security risk. Declarations remain ACCESSIBLE, you just need to authenticate using your profile https://t.co/OH8LRYI8Nj.

These are not the interests of the state, but of a layer of parasites living fat off the state's account. Which are also represented by @AndrisKulbergs. https://t.co/jaXKGO4waY

The first prime minister in the last fifteen years who has delved into and understood the airBaltic problem at a specific time and place. As for what previous prime ministers and transport ministers were thinking when they casually handed out millions, I'd rather not comment… https://t.co/3WrqNm1qtQ

In Latvia, political and business interests (including resellers and state money grabbers, who also call themselves businessmen here) are tangled in such fishing-line knots that it's impossible to untangle them. We need outsiders here who have nothing to do with the previous system and whose hands won't tremble when cutting it all open. I see that only the leadership of 'We Change the Rules' is like that. Everywhere else they are all from their camp, and change with them is impossible; we shouldn't fool ourselves about that. MMN

The leftist oddball missed that my message is about Briškens' pile analogy and I haven't mentioned a single digit, as well as the fact that anyone who isn't a brainwashed leftist reads the news visible in the retweet together with community notes, where the essence of the theft is clearly explained. However, if a leftist has decided 'I feel offended', nothing will stop him.

@viensIRcinitajs @kukseriks @E_Stendzenieks Listen. Our guys buy wires for mice, I apologize if I'm wrong, 80 EUR?, for one piece. In an era when without a wire, for one, if you don't go premium, you can get it for 10 EUR on discounts🧑🌾 What are you trying to tell me, that they are cool guys? Or that what they say, that they know nothing?🧑🌾

@Laurisrenpreis1 @grok demonstrates with vivid examples that the aviation business and taxpayers' money are much more closely related concepts than one might think.

Such a simple question from the outside: How have all other airlines in the world been able to compete in the aviation market for decades without taxpayer money granted by their governments?🤔 https://t.co/ml96o8xXEt

VDD has detained three saboteurs! The State Security Service has done a very good job - a few days after the incident, three people have been detained in connection with the arson of a technology company in Estonia. Information obtained in the VDD investigation indicates that the malicious arson was carried out in Russia's interests. I am very satisfied with the work done by the VDD in investigating sabotage cases both in Latvia and in our neighboring countries, receiving positive assessment also from Estonian colleagues. Such cases confirm the close daily cooperation of the Baltic states' special services in the context of growing Russian threats. Our state's response to those who act against our national security in the Kremlin's interests is essential - we will come after you! The State Security Service (VDD) on August 16 this year initiated criminal proceedings on suspicion that three Latvian citizens on the night of August 15 committed malicious arson of the building of the defense technology company 'Milrem Robotics' in Estonia. Based on what was established in the investigation, VDD detained two suspected Latvian citizens on August 17, and one on August 18. All detained persons have been remanded in custody as a security measure. Additionally, on the mentioned dates, VDD conducted criminal procedural actions at seven objects related to the persons - residences and vehicles.
