Poland built this beautiful border wall, passed a law that allowed soldiers to use real bullets, and as if by magic, the number of illegal border crossings decreased by 96%. Europe, it is that simple to protect your people https://t.co/s19U6Il1bW

The State Police has closed the case. The car owner will not need to go to the police.

People ask me - what does the inscription on the car look like, for which the owner has to provide explanations to inspector Olga Sirčenko from the Ruka cop shop? It looks like this.

All respect to Rimants as a creative person, but what would @austsaule candidates need to do to get 1 hour of very friendly airtime on the public media during the pre-election campaign?

@GintsVilgerts There is a lot of carelessness that always arises when an analysis relies too much on AI. Lowering the referendum threshold is in ASL's founding programme — glad that MMN drew inspiration from it. Private property will best be protected by the abolition of NĪN. We specifically mention the liquidation of SIF.

Let's compare parties. What does MMN offer and what do others? https://t.co/pi8qnq4xLC

@vlogs_flip According to the Pre-election Campaign Law in Latvia, all party-paid pre-election campaigning must be conducted only in the state language. This does not affect content created by the media themselves, such as debates.

@VL_TBLNNK What, didn't they pass a law that debates are only in the state language? It was like that already in the last elections..

@jautaprovince @tikums @ararags Arti, if you want to silence unwanted public opinions, first deal with the view of the honorable Ilma Čepāne, a member of JVienotība. P.S. Propellers is actually a dear word, not a derogatory one https://t.co/0YBDBAugX0

@tikums @ararags Arti! 1. @Elina_Treija is not all of NA and unfortunately does not represent its leadership's position (which is no different from ZZS and Unity on VES issues); 2. it is not derogatory, rather indicative, more against… what does such wording indicate - rather a desire to futilely mess with NA, or not?

@LapinsGirts The law that establishes responsibility already exists. The question is whether it can be proven that the gentlemen and lady acted as good and careful managers. Article 169 of the Commercial Law: (2) Board and council members are jointly liable for losses they have caused to the company.

In such an implementation, boards are pointless. CSDD has 3 (!!!) appointed members, but responsibility is 0. They are fired from CSDD for poor work (inaction), they continue to sit elsewhere. The system was lobbied by Vienotības Grafs and the same 'experts' rotate through boards and councils. https://t.co/aZot16Phnh

NA will not participate in pre-election debates that take place in Russian! The state language must be the state language in essence, not just by law, including during the pre-election period. Currently, there are media outlets calling for debates in Russian. Moreover, there are parties that participate in them.

It is only logical that after such a large-scale data leak, the CSDD leadership cannot continue its work. The personal data leak of 1.2 million people is not simply an "IT incident". It is a serious failure of the state's digital infrastructure. However, alongside the traditional question "who is to blame?" there is an even more important political question: does Latvia have as clear a system of responsibility for state digital systems as for physical infrastructure? We are talking about hundreds of millions of euros in ICT spending, cybersecurity, audits, and system resilience. If an incident of this scale occurs, it must be clear who was responsible for security, what standards were set, who controlled them, and what action is taken after the incident. The state has long warned about growing hybrid threats, including attacks on critical infrastructure in the digital environment. Therefore, such an incident cannot be written off as an unpredictable coincidence. PROGRESSIVES will demand answers from the Ministry of Economics and @ViktorsValainis also about which state systems in the field of cybersecurity are supervised by Tet and how the quality and resilience of these services are assessed. If the state spends millions on cybersecurity, including concluding contracts worth approximately 9 million euros, the public has the right to know what level of security the state actually receives for this money.

Should the salaries of the country's highest officials automatically rise at a time when the government is asking ministries and the entire public sector to save? In my opinion, no. Politicians must not live detached from society and from the decisions they themselves make. If savings are being sought in state administration, this should also apply to the political level. Changes are needed not only in salary increases, but also in ministers' representation bonuses, bonuses for replacing other ministers, and the compensation system for Saeima deputies. PROGRESĪVIE will come with its own proposals for reviewing these expenditures. The salaries of the country's highest officials must be competitive; otherwise, in the long term we lose professional people. But the principle of solidarity is equally important. It is difficult to justify an automatic increase in politicians' salaries at a time when budget savings are being sought at the same time. The current system would mean that in 2027, ministers' gross salaries would increase by €437 to €8,107 per month, and Saeima deputies' by €246 to €4,576. Saving cannot be demanded only from others.

Just like Kristīne Lemberga - crossed out from deputies, put in hospital position without competition, now pushing to government.

@atis_svinka A year ago, when this came up again and Prog was in government, there was certainly also scathing criticism of Prog. I just can't find it quickly...

@Broks “Communication error”

From@Broks

In my opinion, this says everything we wanted to know. And it was not written by me; it is a news agency's summary from a podcast: “When talking about ‘Unity’ achievements, ‘New Unity’ (JV) prime ministerial candidate Arvils Ašeradens counts the prime ministers, the crises overcome, the euro, NATO, and Latvia’s place in the West. When the conversation turns to failures, responsibility becomes fragmented: transport ministers did not report on ‘Rail Baltica’, services failed in the banking crisis, and human errors occurred in the party’s financial violations. In an interview for the LETA agency’s podcast ‘Politicians! What was that anyway?!’ Ašeradens admits that the stability ensured by the party has not translated into sufficiently rapid economic growth, while the party’s ideological shift to the right he calls a return to ideological roots.”

@viensIRcinitajs @kukseriks No, hilarious, as always everything “BPPL invented everyzing”.

@kukseriks @E_Stendzenieks You see, for many in Latvia this fake news about a lousy pipeline on another continent seems very, very relevant. And in every absolutely unrelated, fabricated matter you will be able to spot and attach Unity and the Progressives as the reason for it. Such an unhealthy obsession, even hysteria. https://t.co/D9jYaKUnKA

How much will the so-called transition financing from 'airBaltic' bondholders cost? Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs does not disclose it, while a company board member confirms that it will be expensive.
