The prosecutor does not have to wait for a submission! Article 371, second part of the Criminal Procedure Law provides that in a public prosecution case, within the scope of his competence, the prosecutor can himself initiate criminal proceedings if information about a possible criminal offense has been received.
From@maris_mezals🟥 WHY HAS NO CRIMINAL PROCEEDING BEEN STARTED FOR THE POSSIBLE NEGLIGENCE OF CSDD OFFICIALS AND IT SECURITY RESPONSIBLE PERSONS? OK, a criminal proceeding has been started for the hacker attack. But where is the investigation into those whose duty was to protect the CSDD system? If the data of 1.2 million people has been compromised and the established IT security requirements have not been met, the following must also be assessed: - Section 245 of the Criminal Law - violation of information system security rules; - Section 319 of the Criminal Law - inaction of a state official, if the conditions stipulated by law are met. The investigation must be carried out hot on the heels, and evidence must be secured, documents, audits, log files, and correspondence must be seized! We must investigate not only WHO BROKE INTO THE SYSTEM, but also WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO BREAK INTO! The longer time is dragged out, the greater the chance that all evidence will be destroyed!

Edmunds Jurēvics: Support for working parents must be maintained in full also in the future
Should the salaries of the country's highest officials automatically rise at a time when the government is asking ministries and the entire public sector to save? In my opinion, no. Politicians must not live detached from society and from the decisions they themselves make. If savings are being sought in state administration, this should also apply to the political level. Changes are needed not only in salary increases, but also in ministers' representation bonuses, bonuses for replacing other ministers, and the compensation system for Saeima deputies. PROGRESĪVIE will come with its own proposals for reviewing these expenditures. The salaries of the country's highest officials must be competitive; otherwise, in the long term we lose professional people. But the principle of solidarity is equally important. It is difficult to justify an automatic increase in politicians' salaries at a time when budget savings are being sought at the same time. The current system would mean that in 2027, ministers' gross salaries would increase by €437 to €8,107 per month, and Saeima deputies' by €246 to €4,576. Saving cannot be demanded only from others.
It is only logical that after such a large-scale data leak, the CSDD leadership cannot continue its work. The personal data leak of 1.2 million people is not simply an "IT incident". It is a serious failure of the state's digital infrastructure. However, alongside the traditional question "who is to blame?" there is an even more important political question: does Latvia have as clear a system of responsibility for state digital systems as for physical infrastructure? We are talking about hundreds of millions of euros in ICT spending, cybersecurity, audits, and system resilience. If an incident of this scale occurs, it must be clear who was responsible for security, what standards were set, who controlled them, and what action is taken after the incident. The state has long warned about growing hybrid threats, including attacks on critical infrastructure in the digital environment. Therefore, such an incident cannot be written off as an unpredictable coincidence. PROGRESSIVES will demand answers from the Ministry of Economics and @ViktorsValainis also about which state systems in the field of cybersecurity are supervised by Tet and how the quality and resilience of these services are assessed. If the state spends millions on cybersecurity, including concluding contracts worth approximately 9 million euros, the public has the right to know what level of security the state actually receives for this money.
JV's prime ministerial candidate seat initially offered to Braže - she said 'no'
From@Mikipele6ZZS's unprincipledness and chameleon-like ability to regularly change its opinion was vividly demonstrated yesterday on LTV's Domburšova by Valainis — they themselves, together with Briškens, once hung a crazy and unbearable loan around Air Baltic's neck, but now they shout that they will vote against state involvement in rescuing AB.

The idea that car service centers could participate in conducting inspections has been discussed in the Saeima several times. But when it comes to how strictly regulated and certified this process should be, the willingness of service centers to get involved wanes. Regarding the claim that CSDD should not be a capital company, I would not be so sure. A state institution cannot accumulate funds, include development plans in paid services, take loans, freely reward the most productive employees, etc. A capital company is motivated to optimize processes, and that part is a success story. The other part is the competence and decisions of specific individuals that have led to the largest personal data leak in Latvian history.
From@GalvGatis@lastguru_net Why? Why can't this be delegated to authorized service centers? What does CSDD staff see differently than a service employee?

@edis1250 @toms_salmins You think that people, in the question - 'What is your attitude towards legalizing same-sex marriage in Latvia?' - are unable to understand that the question is about marriage?
From@edis1250@AndrisVelps @toms_salmins Here you can see a good example that survey questions need to be validated and unambiguous, and that the sample pool needs to cover all layers. Whether this survey is such, I have no information, and that is what needs to be found out before starting to worry about its outcome. :)

@toms_salmins This poll is about marriage. There's no need to make up something else here. Left-wing radicalism is the degradation of marriage. /nDon't look for any justification or simply spin the question.
From@toms_salmins@AndrisVelps Exactly. But you want to turn this poll as if it were about for or against same-sex relationships. 'Left-wing radicalism', 'core values', 'traditional family' - that's not what the poll is about. Don't force the poll results trying to prove what you want.

From@GintsVilgertsI suspect that the CSDD budget and long-term contracts or those that automatically renew for more than 10 years could be a very, very interesting object to investigate. 🔥

From@Chadwick198425The government chose to kneel before creditors. By December there is no investor, no refinancing and no possibility to turn airBaltic around in winter. In December there will be only: inject another 100+225 million or write off everything. This is a joke at the taxpayers' expense. @AndrisKulbergs @KNL_LTV1 @SlesersAinars @LapinsGirts @Chapis @atis_svinka

From@jautaa_veelDo you remember how former Interior Minister Kozlovskis, together with the orcs, mocked Dombrava and other Latvian patriots? Now Dombrava is proving how Unity's Kozlovskis sabotaged Latvia's security for 10 years (2011–2019 and 2023–2026). The truth always comes to light. https://t.co/HFb2vLSTaY https://t.co/0t8P5uiiAd
