NA will not participate in pre-election debates that take place in Russian! The state language must be the state language in essence, not just by law, including during the pre-election period. Currently, there are media outlets calling for debates in Russian. Moreover, there are parties that participate in them.

It is very good that at last the full list of those who cooperate with the orcs has been published. The argument that time is needed to enter other markets is long over! This is a matter of morality and business ethics. Viewable here: https://t.co/DfWMdeaMmO https://t.co/kH1LFJszW7

Saeima deputy @ArtursButans has proposed to stipulate in law that pre-election debates in electronic mass media take place in the state language, including in Latgalian written form or in the Livonian language.

In Latvia, political and business interests (including resellers and state money grabbers, who also call themselves businessmen here) are tangled in such fishing-line knots that it's impossible to untangle them. We need outsiders here who have nothing to do with the previous system and whose hands won't tremble when cutting it all open. I see that only the leadership of 'We Change the Rules' is like that. Everywhere else they are all from their camp, and change with them is impossible; we shouldn't fool ourselves about that. MMN

@MGruskevics @Olafs_Pulks @AndrisKulbergs I propose that A. Kulbergs take action to remove the restricted access status from the Cabinet of Ministers' response. The Prime Minister's behavior so far: an invitation for me to interrogate the @Jauna_Vienotiba ministers so they could tell what is written in the government's response. Seriously?

@AndrejsJudins @Olafs_Pulks @AndrisKulbergs If I understood correctly, you @AndrejsJudins are proposing that Prime Minister @AndrisKulbergs break the law? Remove and apply IP, the author of the document.

@agfifdbbjd Marriage and family are a legal, social and moral foundation of society, not just private sexual relations. Your comment vividly shows a primitive view and reveals the true purpose - to degrade and devalue the institution of marriage itself.

@AndrisVelps In age groups over 45 and 55, family formation should no longer be relevant. That is the business of young people. Young people will choose what their family will be. Old badgers have no business with whom their children sleep.

Looks like Solvita's departure to diplomatic service, when you realize that nothing shines in the elections anymore. Solvita at least didn't mess anything up there, but about Čakša I wouldn't be so sure…

@Afanasijs @ltvpanorama I specifically watched it. It's a a slap in the face to all journalists of that time, including me. And a lady with such knowledge and competence holds a high position at the Occupation Museum. Panorama still has people who experienced that time themselves, so why let something like that through?

When I heard this, I choked on my tea... You can row, but like that, how that lady @ltvpanorama was rambling!!! What is happening in Moscow, the whole world heard perfectly from Radio Svoboda live broadcasts! Also in Latvia, that OMON entered Latvian Radio, it broadcast from underground radio stations. https://t.co/yMSvoTFtBN

Latvia is unique in a way - in one state 'monopoly enterprise' both state oversight functions such as driver exams, registries, tax and fine collection, and commercial services such as technical inspection and license plate production are combined. Although it did not promote competition, it was once emphasized that CSDD as a state capital company monopoly would not require control as elsewhere in the EU for services to comply with vehicle technical inspection criteria. True, there is no significant difference in accidents caused by technically damaged cars or in the legitimacy of taking exams between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Technical defects of vehicles in all Baltic states cause only a few % of all serious accidents. Although private driving accompanied by parents is more common and legally simpler in neighboring countries, the percentage of passing the practical exam on the first attempt there is similar to Latvia. From a competition point of view, such a model is an exception in the Baltic and Nordic region, as the Competition Council has repeatedly pointed out. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Transport and CSDD maintained 'high quality, a unified standard and corruption prevention' as the main argument for not opening the market. It was also mentioned that this allows faster and more efficient implementation of innovations and digital tools. Similar to Estonia and Lithuania, CSDD also implements road safety campaigns, for which ~400,000 € per year is allocated; most of the funding is directed to outdoor advertising and TV. However, in neighboring countries they have almost completely abandoned outdoor advertising along roads. In Lithuania and Estonia, campaigns are considered an educational supplement and synchronized with infrastructure improvements. Comparing the number of fatalities, Estonia and Lithuania have better statistics. Particular progress is visible in Lithuania, which is associated with the reconstruction of dangerous intersections and the introduction of automated control tools. The total registration and inspection fee in the Baltics is comparable, but tax policy differs. For example, in Lithuania individuals have no annual tax, while in Latvia and Estonia a road tax must be paid every year. In Estonia it is collected by the tax service, in Latvia through the CSDD network. The free market in Lithuania provides the lowest service costs, while Estonia stands out with the most effective campaigns. Almost twice fewer fatalities on the roads than in Latvia. But it's not that we lag everywhere. The maintenance of senior management costs Latvian taxpayers the most, and in this regard we are leaders. We have the most paid managers - both the board and the council. The state capital company's turnover in 2024 was 62.87 million €, but net profit 2.67 million €. Board and council remuneration costs reached 625,095 €, which is 0.99% of the company's annual turnover and 23.4% of net profit, not counting transport and other administrative support costs. Lithuania lags behind in management costs, while the most modest are the Estonians, where the industry is led by a general director without a council.

Dear advisors of @AndrisKulbergs, please explain to the Prime Minister that ministers must not break the law and disclose restricted-access information. Why is there such resistance and reluctance on the Prime Minister's part to reveal the government's response to the prosecutor's protest? https://t.co/OmUyxkgfhY https://t.co/5wqpEekVtc

With the government's arguments, rejecting the prosecutor's protest in the wood processors' case, one still cannot become acquainted. @AndrisKulbergs expects that the info will be provided by @prokuratura_LV. The prosecutor states that he cannot do it because it is not clear what is confidential in the government's answer. Prime Minister, what is there to hide? https://t.co/xRNpT4kB7z

😂 A Ugandan minister goes to see a bridge costing $350,000… and sees this! The official went to inspect a bridge project costing $350,000. In front of her turned out to be a small concrete pipe under a dirt road. Her reaction says everything. If the amount is correct, this is one of the most blatant examples of waste. Even $5,000 is a lot for this bridge. Imagine where this money went? https://t.co/26LvND5BaF

Since the start of the war, the number of companies doing business with Russia and Belarus has decreased by almost 88% – to 171. The direction is correct, but 171 is still too many. It is especially strange to see textile companies on the list of exporters. https://t.co/h4LZ7fF0nY
