Controlling services must be flexible enough so that urgent inspections do not disturb farmers during harvest. Mandatory inspections related to EU support funding must be carried out seeking compromises. https://t.co/UzB4Ghr7sa

In Latvia there is legal, semi-legal and illegal migration. I am annoyed by how we discuss crime in the local-incomer facet. https://t.co/qDCqUwDJf0

The leftist progressives will immediately shout: 'But locals also drink and drive!'' Yes — we already have our own problems, which drag on from the occupation era and need to be solved — why do we also have to 'voluntarily' import crime and chaos from other countries? Only by lucky coincidence were our children and families not on the sidewalk and bike path when a drunk migrant crashed at high speed into the gas station area. Immigration is rapidly increasing the number of crimes and making our streets dangerous. https://t.co/6dIzNv4Tbr

🤡 Wasn't the Unity government a real clown government? They bought anti-drone systems and forgot to buy ammunition. Now I'm so angry I want to shoot myself in the back of the head. Such like hard-to-educate kids from a special school led Latvia for 15 years, and now we wonder why drones weren't shot down - because there were no shells! And to those who still plan to vote and are excited about Unity: how many times do you need to get hit in the head with a a rake to finally drop those rose-colored glasses?

In Latvia, every fifth student chooses to study in healthcare or social field - this is one of the highest rates among EU countries. Yet we have fewer doctors and nurses than elsewhere. I wonder where those medical students disappear to.. https://t.co/Ke03gahfvg

Adding to what has been said earlier about today's expected closed thematic committee meeting of the government, where the Rail Baltica project will be discussed. Many have gained the impression that @AndrisKulbergs and the government talk a lot, but the necessary decisions are not being made. One would nevertheless hope that today's discussions will be followed by concrete decisions: 1. On the next steps for the A&M assessment. It is essential to understand whether all three proposed scenarios have clearly identified legal risks and full cost calculations have been made. 2. When considering @AndrisKulbergs' proposal to change the route alignment and direct it through Riga, the public must be shown the calculated significant cost increase, as well as the risks of losing future European Union funding. The current government considers that the Cabinet of Ministers' decision of December 2024 on the progress of the Rail Baltica main line construction is not binding on it. It is also unclear on what legal basis @AndrisKulbergs could deviate from the European Commission's Implementing Decision, which clearly defines the purpose and procedure for the use of EU funding. 3. It is positive that the meeting will also assess the progress of the main line's section D construction and the savings achieved so far. Today, the government needs not only reports and discussions but also clear, legally substantiated, and financially responsible decisions.

Not even a couple of months passed and now AirBaltic itself admits that the company needs several hundred million euros this year (not 30 million, as it swore in May), and it is now completely clear that without significant additional state money the airline cannot be saved. Ah, and finally AirBaltic admits that Siliņa's and Briškens' bonds at 14.5% per year are a millstone around the company's neck. All this experts said already 2 years ago, said a year ago, etc. But the company itself lived in denial for a long time, ministers lived in denial (maybe still live? Kozlovskis, who, after long years of doing nothing at the Ministry of Interior, has moved to do nothing at the Ministry of Transport, just a few weeks ago publicly said that the state will receive the repayment of the 30 million loan from May this year in August), and together they misled the public. Maybe the AirBaltic deception saga is nearing its end? Hopefully. Still, the government is still playing 'blind hens' - it approves neither the business plan nor the strategic plan; it says nothing about what position the government offers to bondholders, etc. Also the airline itself must speak and tell. It is inappropriate that the company's manager gave the first interview yesterday, although he has been in office for a year. Without open language, public and open information, it cannot be achieved that the public trusts decisions about investing a large amount of taxpayers' money. But Latvia needs AirBaltic and AirBaltic needs Latvia.

The long reign of political correctness, the masking of tangled state embezzlement and meaninglessness, the cult of higher education, TikTok, mobile devices, and previous simplifiers of language have led to a language crisis. Everything supposedly needs to be in simple language. Should I then also lend a hand in digging the hole? Consider this a mitigating excuse. A general purge in state administration, in simple terms, is getting rid of parasites. Let them go work in the private sector. A general purge is shutting down superfluous ministries, merging some of them. Fewer ministries, fewer important deputy bosses, more specific people in charge. One person responsible for each matter. Who made the decision to build Rail Baltica hangars instead of tracks, knowing we have no money for tracks? Send them to prison. Or at least community service. To dust the walls of the hangar. Who failed to work that out in the parliamentary investigation committee? Remove them from further “investigations” at our expense. In simple terms.

Tomorrow the government will discuss the Rail Baltica project in a closed thematic committee meeting. There are two pieces of news. The good one: the new government, for the first time since its creation on May 29, is finally starting to look at Rail Baltica issues. The bad one: decisions will not be made, and the public will most likely not learn anything, because the meeting will be held in a closed format. A lot has been done over the past year, so this government must not limit itself to empty statements that 'work continues' or, on the contrary, that 'everything is bad.' More than a week ago, an independent assessment was completed, which analyzed three scenarios, the possible scope to be built in the first phase, sources of financing, options to switch or adjust contracts, as well as responsibility for design errors. Information related to national security can be secret, not project management solutions and responsibility for mistakes made. I want the work started during my ministerial mandate on reviewing project solutions, reducing costs, and evaluating mistakes made to be continued.

@Prusis ...security and terrorism risk

@AndrisVelps There are some nuances - safety on one map is color-coded, but you have to look at what creates the coloring. Denmark is yellow due to potential terrorism threat, but Romania is blue not because there is less crime. It's unlikely that Gazans or Iranians will blow anything up in Bucharest.

Did you brew coffee? Now it's time to boil blood! Ingredients: association Lab Futura (coordinator) + 4 partners (PL, IT, GR and LV). Project: The Digital Participatory and Accessible Tourism Hub (10.2025 - 10.2027). Amount that will be thrown to the wind: 250,000 EUR (EU funds). Topic: recycled from a 60K EUR project: we will train farmers in digital skills so they can, for example, make Insta accounts with 66 followers like the association Lab Futura. The usual scheme: - we slap together a 'mega' website, which from 11.2027 will become digital waste; I adore links to google maps (in the Towns section): https://t.co/i5sRauZSlr - we generate with AI a 41-page long report, put in pictures of future farmers who are digitally transformed; - in the Lab Futura account we put a picture from the 'report', in which we indicate that farmers suffer from limited digital visibility, but we don't see the log in our own eye in the form of 157 followers and 3 likes. I'm shocked that the project doesn't yet have its own insta, facebook and youtube account. But they'll probably be created later, when the last 6 months before the end of the project remain. How will we fight these democratically selected parasites and money squanderers?

Stability in itself is not a result. The government can be stable, but concrete decisions must still be demanded from it — especially on budget, healthcare, and national development issues. Read more at https://t.co/p3BvA7G4hn
