@Apvienotais_ candidate for prime minister @AndrisKulbergs in his video statements stubbornly talks only about illegal migration. That is political hypocrisy and manipulation - living in a private house neighborhood, he won't have to deal with the "safety culture" brought by migrants from third countries. Denmark's and the Netherlands' long-term studies clearly prove: legal immigration from third countries has no positive contribution to the economy! It creates pure losses to the state treasury (in Denmark on average -€14,200 per person per year), drowns our national language, culture, and creates enormous security risks. The only benefit is the cheap labor lobby of certain entrepreneurs. Against this background, illegal migration is a completely different and much smaller problem!

I think we need that 49% inheritance tax, that would be really anti-communist 💪💪💰💰💰

All correct, you just haven't fully completed the courses. Tax reduction is not possible until you defeat the communists and take their money away. Those taxes have long been distributed in 'free' services, which the communists happily receive. Otherwise, bad things happen. If taxes are reduced without taking away the communist's 'free' morsel, the communists keep spending, but the state goes bankrupt. I do not want our country to go bankrupt the way the Soviet republics' family did. They were handing everything out for free until they went bankrupt. I urge you to continue lifelong learning and you will eventually get a diploma and receive my congratulations🙂

@andrislov @guntarsv I still have slight suspicions that tax reduction is right-wing, but communists try to raise them or in no case reduce them. But that's just how it is, I'll show off...

How incredibly quickly the apostle of the free market learns the state language once he gets to the soft chair of the Ministry of Finance. Yesterday Vītols was still shouting about tax terror and unyielding capitalism, but today he already reverently chants Baiba Bāne's Excel economics dogmas. When Kulbergs proposes to reduce the fuel excise tax, the former libertarian has a short circuit. How? Leave money to the drivers themselves so the economy doesn't stall? Where does the sacred redistribution and revenue plan go? From a fighter against the system to its loyal guard of Excel spreadsheets—that's the real Latvian success story!

Day No. 76 in the prime minister's seat (Tuesday) – Cabinet meeting already with -1 minister 😏 I returned from Lapland, but the Cabinet of Ministers has become one minister smaller during this time. 🏛️ Cabinet meeting – getting more and more amusing. The approach of elections can already be felt in almost every coalition partnership. The first government meeting with -1 minister – Uzulnieks is replaced by Augulis, but since Valainis is on a business trip, Augulis actually represented as many as 3 ZZS ministries today. 😄 🌾🚂🇷🇺 grains and Latvian farmers' exports We adopted a decision to increase the railway infrastructure fee for 🇷🇺 grain cargo. Our priority – export of Latvian farmers' products and the competitiveness of our own entrepreneurs. 📏 60 m² of land and the absurdity of bureaucracy Today I learned about yet another bureaucratic nonsense. The state is disposing of 60 m² of land, for which the owner is paid approximately €23, because that is the value of the land. But to carry out this transaction: ➖️ an appraisal costs about €200–300; ➖️ land surveying – another €1000–2000; ➖️ additionally, surveyor costs come on top. This is total nonsense. I tasked the Minister of Justice, Mr. Smiltēns, to immediately look for a solution and remove this unnecessary bureaucracy in cases where such small plots of land are involved. 🚌 €9.8 million to intercity bus operators We adopted a decision to pay bus operators €9.8 million in debt for intercity bus services. This problem has been dragging on unresolved for more than the tenure of two transport ministers of the previous government. At the same time, I tasked the Minister of Transport to bring a long-term solution already in October. Companies must know under what rules to work and how to plan their business further – they cannot live in uncertainty every year. 🎙️ LDDK/LTRK prime ministerial debates @AlvisHermanis1 did not come to the debate. Pity, because this was the right place to defend your ideas and position. I specifically wanted to hear: ➖️ what his plan for Latvia's economic growth is; ➖️ how to attract more investment; ➖️ how to increase Latvia's exports. I also find interesting the publicly voiced reproaches to LDDK and @LTRK_uznemeji about labor migration. Here, however, one should rely on facts, not loud slogans. 📊 Looking at the data on the so-called "pseudo student" problem, it is concentrated in specific universities – and @RostovskisA Turība is not among them. Whereas @darbadeveji itself does not in any way promote illegal migration. Also, for example, the Karavela led by @AndrisBite employs third-country workers legally and in a relatively small volume – mainly because in Latvia there simply are not people willing to do such physically demanding work. 👉 Migration must be discussed seriously. But more importantly – based on data, facts, and the real situation, not statements.

A political trap. ZZS now needs ratings like food. So they thought up promising all the earthly bananas and dividing them into petty handouts. Vienotība is right there. There’s no longer any need to worry about the budget, why not dig the hole even deeper? So it turns out that if AS were against, they would raise their ratings with their handouts. Because everyone understands that the voter is red up to the earlobe. So I don’t condemn it, political logic played out correctly, but that doesn’t help how I feel. My job is to look for ways to reduce squandering. Today two steps back.

@guntarsv what's the reason your own allies don't support it? plain populism, stupidity, or communist successors?

I don't understand?! If there is concern about fuel availability, then why is it being proposed to reduce availability? In excise duty there are only 4 cents possible, bio is cheaper today and even if we refused, the price wouldn't change. VAT 21→12% is the only quick answer that will achieve the goal, Poland and Spain could! https://t.co/cSIWAAMDC0

⛽️ FUEL PRICES The rise in fuel prices is a huge problem for Latvia and all of Europe. It directly hits people's wallets and makes almost everything more expensive: 🚗 private transport, 🚆 trains, 🚌 buses, ✈️ aviation, 🚛 logistics, 🚒 firefighting, 🚓 police, 🚑 emergency medical services The rise in fuel prices also means higher prices in stores and additional pressure on inflation. It reduces the purchasing power of money and in winter will directly affect both consumption and the cost of living. It's important to understand – there is no direct correlation between the price of oil on the exchange and the fuel price at the filling station, especially for diesel. Fuel traders do not buy finished fuel on the oil exchange. The prices of finished oil products are largely formed by PLATTS international fuel price indices. 🛢️ Diesel is a particular problem. Diesel price and availability can become a long-term problem because global refining capacity is disrupted. 🇷🇺 In Russia, a significant part of fuel refining capacity is out of order. Russia has restricted fuel exports because it needs to supply its own market, and some products are also purchased from 🇨🇳 China. This increases tension in the global fuel market and demand for diesel. 🇱🇻 This is particularly important for Latvia, as about 67% of our car fleet is diesel cars. ❄️ An additional problem comes in winter – winter diesel production also uses aviation fuel or kerosene fractions, so in the cold season competition for these raw materials increases even more. 🏛️ The government will decide this week on measures to reduce fuel prices to the allowable minimum, using all tools available to the government. Planned solutions: ➖️ reduced excise duty – approximately -8 cents/litre ➖️ abolition of fuel reserve requirement costs – approximately -8 cents/litre ➖️ abolition of bio-additive requirement – approximately -4 cents/litre 💶 Total possible reduction – up to 20 cents per litre. On Wednesday, we will submit the decisions adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers to the Saeima Budget and Finance Committee for further progress in the Saeima. The goal – for the fuel price reduction to take effect from 1 October to 31 December. 🌍 The biggest external risk right now is the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important energy arteries, through which significant supplies of: 🛢️ oil ⛽️ petrol and diesel products ✈️ aviation fuel 🔥 LNG gas 🌾 and mineral fertiliser raw materials are provided. Hostilities, uncertainty, damage to oil infrastructure and disruptions to refineries in the Middle East directly affect fuel prices worldwide. 🇵🇱 Today I have a planned conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. One of the issues will also be the ORLEN refinery in Mažeikiai and fuel availability in our region. ⚠️ If the situation in the Middle East does not improve, the European Union could reach a situation where the issue is no longer just about the fuel price. A common fuel availability problem could also arise. We will follow the situation and act. I will report on further developments. #hormuz #degviela
