Something like that is only possible because AirBaltic's insolvency and bankruptcy have to be postponed until after the elections. Kulbergs needed 3+ months to organize this, and therefore he had no time to work on the budget and other issues important to the state. https://t.co/GWnNX4M1Po

But nothing has been lied about. The goal was for airBaltic to keep flying, and it could only fly by saving (coming to terms with) creditors, thereby de facto losing most of the state's control over the company. My bet is that the state will still be forced to inject something when the promised strategic investor arrives, and if we want some kind of connectivity with Riga… of course, if it comes. But that will be after the elections. 😀 however, time and liquidity have been bought. Yes, at a high price. And it is not the state that pays, but airBaltic itself, including to the state. They will clear the field, and bondholders, to whom the company is already in debt, will get better collateral... Bridge financing has been found, and more than planned. The state has an option to participate proportionally in this new issuance as well. I think the state will not participate. The most likely end game is that the debt holders will be saved, the company will fly, but Latvia's stake in the company will be negligible. But there will be an option to participate with cash, like buy back what was lost. Logically, the only question here will be whether the new owners will be interested in keeping the 'hub' in Riga or not.

@JurgisLiepnieks Kulbergs and Kozlovskis should honestly say that the privatization of AirBaltic is currently underway, because this and previous loans, at least to a large extent, cannot be repaid at such a 'super SMS credit price' and Latvia no longer controls AirBaltic.

@sidsloth261949 @IvarsAuzins something like that, even more, Kulbergs just went to the Saeima and asked for money, and got it, and with that we still pay extra for everything you describe.

@JurgisLiepnieks @IvarsAuzins oh you don't understand... look... those who lend don't lend money at % but cheaply buy airplanes and infrastructure and possibly business... that is such a cheap slow AirBaltic sell-off - through another channel.

This week, KNL Kulbergs, making excuses for why nothing has been done in the budget, among other things, said that he had to spend 30% of his time saving AirBaltic and that it had succeeded. Now we learn that this success involves borrowing at 25% per year, which is no longer even a quick loan, but some kind of grave robbing. Moreover, the tax money allocated by the Saeima will now go to paying interest to some representatives of this 'smart money'. I hope to hear @AndrisKulbergs explanation today about this great plan. Saving a company that cannot repay a 14.5% loan by giving it a new one at 25% sounds really interesting.

Kulbergs, Vītols, and Kučinskis' new, great airBaltic business plan: borrowing at 14.5% per year was bad, so now we'll borrow at 25% per year. And shut up, dimwits, you understand nothing!

In a few months, the usual complaints will start again about how strategically important airBaltic is and that there is no other way but to pump in another few million. https://t.co/ROtcr7gRS1

@E_Stendzenieks Let them borrow. That is not Latvian taxpayers' money. Principally, the only thing that interests me is, I quote: 'The planned interim financing does not depend on Latvia's state financial participation'.

And this is that great 'business' plan that the whole @Apvienotais_ scum was crowing about, starting from the former Kargins' Latvian @guntarsv and ending with @andriskulbergs himself. TWENTY FIVE percent per year.🤡🤡🤡 I will remind you that the bonds of Briškens and Siliņa, which this scum so criticized, were FOURTEEN.

@LaSharikovcousi @E_Stendzenieks Won't recover, of course. The money invested earlier has long been burned. I suggest an experiment. Take a 50 euro banknote and throw it into the fire. No, better a 200 euro banknote. If you haven't learned elementary school material, then you have to learn it this way.

@guntarsv @E_Stendzenieks Are you sure that you are a financier? This is a sure path to taxpayers never recovering their investments! Just 5 minutes ago, Kulbergs called everyone idiots over the 14% 'death' bonds, but now he himself is about to issue at 25% 🤡

@guntarsv It is sad when the finance minister is always a bit sleepy, but his advisor is completely without advice on how to fix the budget, and work on next year's budget is not happening at all. Absolutely no ideas about Kulberg's proclaimed money-making, cutting expenses. Just empty chatter!

I'm now bewildered - under Siliņa/Briškens, AirBaltic borrowed at 14.5%, which everyone unanimously called the final nail in the coffin, because there is no business that would earn enough to make borrowing at 14.5% profitable. Now, thanks to the active work of the new government (Kulbergs allegedly having devoted 30% of his time so far just to this), AirBaltic will borrow at 25% - 257 million at 25% per year???? Seriously? How can that end well?

I am not too interested in what exactly “I want to help refugees” says regarding the migration restriction plan prepared by the Ministry of Interior, but we work very carefully with all ministries, said Interior Minister Jānis Dombrava (NA).

Andris Kulbergs partially agrees with this criticism, but he says he lacked time. Discussion on budget expenditures and how to increase revenues in the government could still take place in September, he promises.

If the government does not work with the state budget, does not open a substantive discussion, it cannot make any decisions, working with LDDK and LTRK does not solve it, so says Economy Minister Viktors Valainis (ZZS).

University of Latvia professor Daunis Auers praises the energetic actions of Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs and Interior Minister Jānis Dombrava, noting that already in 1993 a sociological survey showed that the majority of residents indicated that they want to see a manager in state leadership.

Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs (AS) reveals that currently access to state budget data is provided to the Latvian Employers' Confederation, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Foreign Investors Council.
