DAY No. 68 in the prime minister's chair — Dombrava's imitated MIGRANT struggle @VL_TBLNNK hysteria about immigration sometimes looks like a spoiled kindergartener. Here is everything you need to know about @janisdombrava's 'theater battle' with immigration. 🎭 Apparently Dombrava is not interested in a real result in restricting migration, but in loud and pointless shouting. It is a pity that their own voters are fooled in this way. Interior Minister Dombrava apparently still has not understood what it means to be a minister and how work happens in the Cabinet of Ministers. I would suggest his more experienced NA colleagues — @KasparsGerhards, @IIndriksone or Mūrniece — explain what it means to prepare and submit an informative report (IZ) to the government. ❓ How do Dombrava and NA even imagine pushing a FULLY UNSYNCHRONIZED issue to a government meeting? Just because they felt like it? 📸 The screenshot from the MK TAP portal shows everything as clear as day: ➡️ Dombrava's informative report was submitted on Monday, 31 August, at 12:59 — only about 1.5 hours before the coalition meeting; ➡️ the document is completely unsynchronized with 14 institutions — not with the Ministry of Justice, Finance, Economy, Foreign Affairs, Welfare, Environmental Protection and Regional Development, Health, the State Chancellery, @darbadeveji, @LTRK_uznemeji, etc. Simply coming in, throwing a document into the government and then announcing that 'everyone is against fighting immigration' is dull, cheap and populist voter fishing with no basis. 🤝 At the coalition meeting we all agreed that the document must be coordinated, and this Friday a special political meeting is being organized to agree on its content point by point. Apparently even that seems superfluous to Dombrava, if noise is more important than results. ⚠️ And the objections are not formal — they are very substantial. For example, Dombrava suddenly imagined suing TWO European Commission commissioners and proposing amendments to an EU directive. The Foreign Ministry has significant objections to that. The interior minister cannot simply bypass all Cabinet working procedures, throw a document unsynchronized with anyone into the government and demand an immediate decision. Many ministers had not even had time to familiarize themselves with the document today. 📌 Moreover, there is no talk of some 'stuck coordination'. There has not even been a normal coordination cycle! The document must first be prepared properly, go through coordination and be brought to a government decision. Only then can one say that someone is blocking it. Dombrava simply did not do his homework. The facts are simple: 1️⃣ A project can be submitted to the government agenda if it is submitted by Wednesday evening. This project was already submitted on Monday, 31 August, at 12:59, shortly before the coalition meeting. 2️⃣ After clarifying the project, it was not sent to ministries for a repeated opinion. 3️⃣ The argument about delay does not hold up — the report has had almost three months since the beginning of June to be prepared. 🎯 If we really want to restrict illegal migration, we need results, prepared decisions and professional work, not loud slogans and political theater.

Wind parks bad, golden visas good. That's how one can describe the government's current policy. The Prime Minister Kulbergs' adviser worriedly tells on the radio that Latvia needs investments because the budget cannot be balanced. A few days later, the government, with the finance minister chairing the meeting (the one who should be responsible for balancing the budget!), rejects one of Latvia's largest investment projects. Why? Because some millionaires object and can afford expensive lawyers and stir up the public. Even better, this proposal was submitted by National Alliance politician Vitenbergs. Shouldn't the National Alliance care about Latvia's energy independence, right? But no, its politicians have decided that their voter will be the one protesting against wind parks. They themselves also participate in protests, fishing for votes. Gas, apparently, is a politically closer energy source. Instead of ensuring clear decision-making for investors who have gone through many bureaucratic procedures, express favoritism is being prepared for golden visa holders. They supposedly fill Latvia's budget with money. Plain short-term thinking. Instead of reducing energy prices with renewables and developing manufacturing in Latvia, we wait for the Lucky Bear. But this could have been avoided. Also avoidable was the devastating criticism expressed by Latvia's Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), the Foreign Investors' Council (FICIL), the Latvian Employers' Confederation (LDDK), and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LTRK) - henceforth there must be a clearer and more predictable procedure for large investment projects (https://t.co/rbOzmuaDaC). The Cabinet of Ministers should not make such decisions on specific projects. The Cabinet must create the rules of the game, not participate in the game. State institutions, after rules are developed, must make decisions on specific projects. That was an initial flaw in the law that could not be fixed in the Saeima in the first half of this year. I submitted a proposal in the draft law that the institution - the State Environmental Service - should decide on such projects. The proposal received support in the committee but not at the Saeima session. In my opinion, what happened is a good lesson for the future. The Cabinet cannot be granted the right to decide on specific projects. That must be done by a non-partisan civil service that follows the law, not pre-election emotions. That will give certainty to investors that LIAA, LTRK, LDDK, and FICIL invite.

Let's go - we cooperate. We can start with already prepared draft laws that are still gathering dust in the drawers of the Saeima parties. https://t.co/dO8g7UJfye You can safely copy our anti-migration plan, so we don't have to just fight the consequences of Kulberg's government. https://t.co/6ZPX462phN In short - broad cooperation opportunities. Just need to do it. But probably won't be without us...

@karlis_serzants @Apvienotais_ Which party has the justice minister? What exactly legal steps has @EdvardsSmiltens taken to find out why the process is dragging, and to ensure it doesn't drag?

@Lato_Lapsa @Apvienotais_ This is my absolutely personal opinion, Lato! Thieves should sit in prison regardless of party affiliation, and in this case a very simple court process has been dragging on for the seventh year…

@runasvirs @Apvienotais_ I would recommend checking the news date... 2023.

@AndrisKulbergs @Apvienotais_ Corruption, mysterious bonuses and premiums, impotence of some institutions, the inflated number of civil servants, etc. As far as I understand, has that been resolved?

What do you want? Everything is in force! No coat of arms license plates? Get lost! Wait another three years! The initiative is what matters!🤡

@axe_lv And? This is valid, nothing needs to be done there. The next number plate procurement is in 2029.

And still being prepared? The giver.🤡 This person is a d...er, not a doer. Remember that at the elections. https://t.co/O0ixHvBRHe

Marking Latvia's holidays on November 18, I wanted to give all Latvian car and motorcycle drivers an initiative from me and @Apvienotais_ to introduce the Latvian coat of arms on our country's vehicle license plates. With the aim of strengthening Latvia's image and promoting vehicle owners' sense of belonging to the the country, together with CSDD amendments to legislation are being prepared so that the national coat of arms would be included on Latvian vehicle registration plates. The design and specification will be refined, the picture is only for illustration.

As we discussed with employers today. We have a bunch of laws and regulations that require allocating funding to various sectors as a certain % of GDP. And there, when adding up, about one billion euros is missing. For a long time. That is on top of the already existing deficit (borrowed money) of 2 billion per year. It will never be fulfilled, even theoretically impossible. Such regulations should be thrown in the trash. There is a list.

Parties that do not make such a budget correction are leading Latvia to destruction. At least a 30% cut in the bureaucratic service, as well as reduced state intervention in business. Also culture and sports. The state does not owe athletes. @guntarsv give 'chainsaws' to ministers to sharpen. Also @AndrisKulbergs https://t.co/r17V5J9i8B

I have not supported and do not support state funding intended for the Bridge federation. I want to remind that the aim of the government decision of 16 June was to support the hosting of international championships, not to allocate funding to one specific sport. The aim of the Cabinet of Ministers' decision was to help Latvia attract and host international sports championships, not to cover expenses after the fact for events already held for one specific sport. At the Cabinet meeting, both in the protocol and in the audio recording, it was clearly explained that such funding could be allocated in an open competition with all sports federations participating - in the future, not for an already ongoing event. I also have a specific question about the planned 14,000 euros for 'evaluation of competition results, as well as development of new, transparent and uniform criteria.' If this sum is needed to develop transparent and verifiable procurement criteria after the funding distribution, a legitimate question arises: on exactly what criteria were the 225,000 euros distributed this time? I believe that the Ministry of Education and Science must submit a calculation of this sum, the source of funding, and procurement documents, and must justify why this work cannot be done by officials of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Economics, whom the Cabinet has already tasked with monitoring the competition results. I am not clear what the employees of the Ministry of Education and Science are doing, if an external evaluator needs to be hired for 14k EUR? This waste and the constant engagement of meaningless consultants must be stopped.

Reliable sources report that Transport Minister Rihards Kozlovskis has given his blessing for Lemberga, Martinsons and IT cartel candidates (Andris Liepiņš, Krišjānis Krūmiņš, Juris Kanelis) to join the RIX Airport board. Looks like in JV's pre-election hunger, security and state interests are out the window.💥

Eventually, the Prime Minister will be surprised to discover which officials are directly under the supervision and responsibility of KNAB. https://t.co/K4Vd4b61vh

@AndrisKulbergs @taisnibaskalps @VL_TBLNNK @Apvienotais_ Unfortunately, in our country neither investigators, nor KNAB, nor the prosecutor's office work as they should. It's a sham. And, in my opinion, the head of state must ensure that this is not the case and that these services work like clockwork.

Hey, are you okay? I can't keep track of all the anger vectors.

This is all very ugly, so ugly that neither @AndrisKulbergs nor @MGruskevics have even looked at it, but SIF is under the Cabinet of Ministers, not the Ministry of Culture. I understand you don't want to see it - I also don't want to see this, in one meeting they knew nothing, but were extremely arrogant! Give it back to the minister, put it under the ministry, perhaps these very spoiled ladies will start working a bit.

Today Kulberg's government, at Braže's initiative, appointed Anhelita Kamenska as Latvia's expert to the committee for the convention against racism and intolerance. The director of the Latvian Centre for Human Rights, who is most likely the biggest defender of Russian rights in Latvia right after Ždanoka. A significant achievement and a great gift from Kulberg to all kinds of Russophiles.

The entire board and Brauna must resign! The problem with Latvian Radio is much deeper than just one editor's fault. The broadcast plays came across as mocking all the people who desperately awaited information - which roads were open, where to get water, where communications worked. @AndrisKulbergs https://t.co/ZN6dzVPdD0
