@poznaks@AndrisKulbergs How is the halt of Russian grain transit going? Kulberg's actions in this matter look more like preserving that grain transit rather than the opposite.... The immigration issue is also more rhetoric and putting spokes in Dombrava's wheels....
Such a rapid 're-painting' as demonstrated by @AndrisKulbergs is hard to even imagine.
@Apvienotais_ calls itself a conservative force, but Kulbergs' actions show the opposite - support for third-country immigration, support for the Istanbul Convention that undermines the institution of marriage, and circumvention of Article 110 of the Satversme in the name of same-sex marriage.
How does AS even differ from @Jauna_Vienotiba, or has it always been just a convenient continuation of Unity's policy under a different name?
Oh how great that Russia is not ready for war. Already for four and a half years it's completely not ready... And even better that the Latvian authorities have used these four and a half years wisely, and as a result our country is now very ready... Tukšd...slis. https://t.co/6qRhPgWhjD
🇱🇻 I see that society is anxious, following international news. I want to reassure - there is no reason for panic!! We take the security situation seriously. 🇵🇱 The Polish prime minister has published an intelligence risk assessment about possible Russian actions in the coming months. However, it is not a statement about a specific or imminent attack on Poland, Latvia, or another NATO country. 📢 You know that I communicate openly, also about negative facts. But right now there is no reason for concern. 🤝 I am in constant contact with the services. This Wednesday I also met with EU leaders who participated in the Arctic summit. ✅ Currently there is no information indicating a particularly high threat level. I can confirm that Russia is not ready for war and is not capable of a conventional attack. 🛡️ NATO support is stronger than ever. Our border guard and services are vigilant – there are a series of operations at the border, military exercises are ongoing, and German fighter jets will additionally patrol the airspace during the elections. However, we must remain vigilant. Our society is well informed about threats and knows our eastern neighbor well. Of course, the Russian election context increases the amount of disinformation and propaganda. 🔍 I closely follow the situation, meet with the services, and talk with both Ukrainian and EU leaders. The responsible services constantly monitor the situation and exchange information with our allies. I can reassure! If there is a real threat, I will inform immediately.
On October 3, 2026, the Saeima elections will take place. For the first time, I have gone from being a voter to a candidate, and I am pleased that in Latvia there is a party for which conservative values and nationalism are not just an election slogan but the reason for its founding.
In the two previous elections, I voted for parties that promised to protect conservative values. Eight years ago I trusted JKP, four years ago the United List. However, the Partnership regulation was adopted, the Istanbul Convention was ratified, and the promises remained where they were made: before the elections.
After this disappointment, I got tired of waiting for someone else to fulfill what was promised. So in 2024 I joined the association 'Austošā Saule', because I knew that its goal was to become a party. Before that, I checked who these people were and found idealists for whom Latvia is not a four-year project but a home built for generations. I was present when the association became a party on 23 August 2025, the only truly new party in these elections. Over these years I have fallen in love with the nationalism of small nations, because it is not directed against others but is an unwavering will to exist.
The preamble of the Constitution states that the Latvian state was created to guarantee the existence of the Latvian nation, its language and culture through the centuries. In 1989, when I was born, Latvians were only 52% in their own land; this year we are about 63%. Latvia is the only place in the world where the Latvian people and language are at home: if there are fewer of us here, there will be no other place in the world where we could become more. The promise of the Constitution does not fulfil itself; it is fulfilled by people in the Saeima. Therefore, 'Austošā Saule Latvijai' offers not slogans but concrete steps:
- defend the interests of Latvians as the state nation, strengthen the Latvian language and the Latvian cultural environment;
- promote the emigration of third-country immigrants and make the residence permit issuance procedure stricter, while other parties only promise to fight illegal immigration;
- prevent the spread of Islamism;
- amend Article 110 of the Constitution so that the foundation of the family is the marriage of a man and a woman, blood kinship or adoption;
- gradually end the Partnership institution, while other so-called conservative parties stop at the promise of not allowing same-sex marriage;
- withdraw from the Istanbul Convention and fight domestic violence with national laws and crisis centres;
- ensure that families return to the countryside and new farms are created;
- actively participate in NATO and remain in the European Union as a community of national states, so that conservative values have a voice in it.
These goals are achievable by legal means, but parties tend to stumble in implementing them. I have a master's degree in law from the University of Latvia and thorough knowledge of constitutional law, so I will help turn the goals of the ASL programme into laws that will be written to withstand the review of the Constitutional Court.
If you support national and conservative values, and if you truly care about family, nation and state, then on 3 October put the ballot for list 12 in the envelope. May a morning dawn over Latvia in which Latvians as the titular nation are a stable majority in their own land!
Dear @Ryanair,
Ryanair rented a ballroom to announce two aircraft and Riga as this year’s “winner”. It seems their scratch cards have finally made their way from the cabin to the strategy department.
But their own announcement makes the point better than we could.
Riga has “won” this year’s round. Tallinn and Vilnius have won previous ones – and their reward this winter is a 25% capacity cut.
That exposes the paradox at the heart of Ryanair’s proposal: long-term investment cannot be re-auctioned every year. A commitment that has to be won again each season – at an ever lower price – is not much of a commitment.
The Baltics need reliable, long-term connectivity, not an annual auction to see who is prepared to offer the cheapest landing.
That is a difficult model to call a long-term connectivity strategy.

@DavidsZalans I have always said so. I just told you again. And also directly, both to the prime minister personally and to AS deputies. To everyone, my position on this matter is completely clear. Just yesterday in Strasbourg I also said it to a Latvian journalist from Liepāja. I don't know where she will publish it.
@poznaks Where can one see that you have publicly said in the past few months specifically regarding Russian grain being transported by rail? Have you called on the government not to transport it? I haven't seen that. Have you discussed it privately with the AS Saeima deputies? If the answer to all of these is negative, then ...
I watched that extremely strange show, clips to take with you:
1) Rostovskis, who is not running in the elections, used the opportunity to threaten the public with the creation of a Skidrow of '~96 thousand Indian California', presumably in Ķīpsala😝
2) Kulbergs reminded that in 2044 Latvia itself would have ~4 thousand student applicants;
3) Kulbergs put forward a very valuable and supportable proposal: to take away vocational education from the Ministry of Education and give it to conditional MikroTik, Tet and other colleges.
Taking something away from the Ministry of Education - that is always a supportable proposal.☺️

Regarding taxes - logically, they must be paid. It is a matter of self-respect and honor towards oneself and society. But we must remember that national borders have long ceased to exist when we talk about e-residency. Choices can be varied where to base oneself. US companies settle in Ireland, for example.
@CerinsAivis@jautaa_veel@AndrisKulbergs@AlvisHermanis1@RostovskisA@AndrisBite Accepting such (low IQ, chaotic) migration as a fact is surrender. It should not be regulated post factum, but must be COMPLETELY STOPPED until there is clear regulation, quotas, and full control of the situation. Do you admire those who do not pay taxes🇱🇻 but continue to use infrastructure? Like migrants.

@VisockisJuris@jautaa_veel@AndrisKulbergs@AlvisHermanis1@RostovskisA@AndrisBite Juris, I understand what you write. At the same time, it must be understood that LV is a democratic republic, which entails that there is no single truth and that what the leader says does not automatically have the force of law. The ideas you express can only be implemented in a totalitarian regime model, not in a democracy.

@DavidsZalans Pulling a sentence from a tweet about a completely different topic and giving it a grain of context is truly unprecedented quality of politics. I have objected and will object to the transport of ru cargo as long as it continues. The government chose its own solution. Whether it works or not, we will see in 2 weeks.
@poznaks If you, as a representative of the United List, do not object to the transport of ru cargo to lv, as the government led by the United List currently does and allows, then you can also say nothing. https://t.co/MC9ElGTuIi
