@KZorins In Riga there is no way out. There is one in the Cabinet of Ministers.
From@KZorinsIn Riga, AS + JV + PRO + NA can work, but the Cabinet of Ministers can’t?

Kulbergs proposes evaluating the liquidation of LatRailNet and the transfer of its functions to SPRK
Kulbergs thinks a misunderstanding has occurred; he is not opposed to the film industry.
In the Saeima elections, 118 of the 444 postal votes received were declared invalid.
Oh, and unrelatedly — does anyone know why Latvian society does not trust the Saeima, the government, and political parties? https://t.co/JzzFQQSXmV
From@pucejLet's call this a learning process - the film producers association is the first in 2026 to learn how what was said before the elections differs from what is done after the elections. In the association's pre-election debates, representatives of AS, JV, and NA publicly and passionately supported forcing streaming platforms to use Latvian-produced content. Now no longer. https://t.co/0I0YJBZ6Gn

A referendum will be organized, the true purpose of which is to give AS deputies, who before the elections promised various groups (NGOs, congregations, etc.) to vote for the denunciation of the Istanbul Convention, an excuse not to vote. They will most likely spend around 2 million euros of taxpayers' money for this purpose.
Kulbergs named the main conditions when choosing coalition partners.

@jaunups In elections, liberals are in the minority, so the convention must be repealed, rather than torturing the conservative majority with the liberal minority's convention on social genders and other nonsense.
From@jaunupsIn my opinion, no public poll is needed. What is needed is to leave this issue alone and not touch it. That is exactly what the broad electorate just said, https://t.co/F1h6LfuZJd, by crossing out Līdaka and the other fake “conservative” crowd. Latvia and society expect prioritising the economy and fighting bureaucratic nonsense. For Kulbergs, this is all so elementary to understand, but instead the messing with society will continue.

Rinkēvičs outlined three principles for the political forces elected to the 15th Saeima (4) The time for unpopular decisions is coming - more than two years until the elections.
Changes will not be comfortable for everyone! Kulbergs has an ironclad condition for the future coalition partners.
Kulbergs reveals the main conditions for choosing coalition partners
There is not a single argument to rush the decision on the fate of the Istanbul Convention, said Rinkēvičs. Kulbergs proposes a consultative referendum on this issue.
Kulbergs: We will choose as coalition partners those who will agree to implement change.
From@AndrisKulbergs@Braze_Baiba @VL_TBLNNK Thank you, this is important from the standpoint of cooperation with our strategic partner. Foreign affairs has a special role in building this cooperation. We will resolve matters with the Latvian film industry separately.

Kuļbergs proposes discussing the Istanbul Convention issue in a consultative referendum
From@andrislovThe red professor has put on a mourning ribbon and asks whether the state budget is now the prime minister's private wallet. The reason for the tragedy is that @AndrisKulbergs does not want to impose a 3.5 percent levy on streaming platforms, which would bring about six hundred thousand euros a year to the National Film Centre's coffers. Six hundred thousand—for that sum in Riga you can buy a moderately unsuccessful documentary about a bureaucrat's soul and still have some left for coffee during seminar breaks.

On support for the 🇱🇻 film 🎥 industry, we agreed with @AndrisKulbergs and @VL_TBLNNK at the Cooperation meeting on Monday, and the entire government coalition was united — it is necessary and will be ensured. But there is no need to fall out with our strategic security partner, the USA.
