But here about Belarus and the railway: https://t.co/ps8Xq6zFJA

Interesting coincidence. French journalists published a ranking table of the intelligence services of 30 European countries, where Latvia is in 21st place – only 1 of 60 specialists gave Latvia a point. Meanwhile, today I learn that in Riga there is an office of a subsidiary of the Belarusian railway operator BELINTERTRANS, which is in fact a structural unit of Lukashenko's transport/logistics troops. Where are our services looking? P.S. Even more interesting is that the Estonians, with 27 points, have earned 8th place.

Such a prime minister's response marks the next coalition that everyone is already talking about behind the scenes: AS, NA, LPV. So much in common - denunciation of the Istanbul Convention, support for quick loans, golden visas and deforestation. And now they will jointly fight against that 'European influence'. https://t.co/xpa427EoGa

Spain's migrant amnesty is a 'very bad idea', says Sweden's prime minister. And the leaders of Italy, Germany, Denmark and other EU countries, as stated in the Financial Times article. https://t.co/c8Cm614dkS

The first 'underground tunnel engineers' caught. On August 10, in Skrudaliena parish, Augšdaugava municipality, border guards detected 15 persons who illegally crossed the state border through a dug underground tunnel from Belarus. State Border Guard officials, in cooperation with State Police officials, a Lithuanian border guard dog handler and a rapid response unit, while conducting operational measures and checking received information, detected 15 persons who had illegally crossed the state border. Continuing to inspect the scene and clarifying the circumstances of the persons' illegal crossing of the state border, border guards found an underground passage in the area of responsibility of the Silene border guard station, 10 meters from the fence. Operational information about the tunnel construction in this area of responsibility had already been available to border guards earlier. This is the first case where a tunnel is used for illegal crossing of the state border to Latvia. In this exact location, no signs of violations had previously been detected and no detentions of persons illegally crossing the state border had occurred. The 15 persons were prevented from illegally crossing the state border under Article 4 of the State Border Guard Law and returned to the country of departure. Thanks to the services for the joint work!

We push back, only a small number get in.

@Brivibas36 @AndrisKulbergs If hundreds of young men illegally enter from an aggressor state without weapons, how do they differ from the armed ones, if weapons can be airdropped to them at any moment, at a pre-arranged location? They are attackers and must be responded to adequately!!!

@anonimizets @Lato_Lapsa @letanewslv @AndrisKulbergs This is LETA's ideological intolerance towards Kulbergs, towards the “National Alliance”, towards “We Change the Rules”.

@kr_klavins @Lato_Lapsa @letanewslv @AndrisKulbergs A commission to ask stupid questions? 😀 I don't know, it gave me the impression of intellectual laziness on the part of the interviewers. Perhaps the laurels of Anastasia's “poking under the headboard” Tetarenko-Supe won't let them rest ...

In healthcare ❤️‍🩹 there is an indicator “Potential years of life lost” - the years a person would have lived up to a certain age (e.g., up to 64 years, as calculated in Latvia) had they not died. The earlier in life people die, the higher the number of potential years of life lost. This means that for all these potentially lost years, a person could still live, create and raise children, enjoy, work, pay taxes to the state, etc. This indicator is calculated using mortality data by age group. As can be seen, the main causes of death affecting premature departure in Latvia are cardiovascular diseases, external causes (mainly various accidents) and tumors. In Latvia, the overall potential years of life lost indicator is decreasing (data - from @SPKCentrs). But when comparing this indicator with other countries (in Europe it is calculated against a 70-year threshold, data - from @EU_Eurostat https://t.co/yQf0PvBCQE ), Latvia 🇱🇻 currently has the highest potential years of life lost indicator among all EU countries 🇪🇺.

We increasingly observe that other forces – both “experienced” system parties and newcomers – diligently look into the “Austošā Saule Latvijai” programme and draw inspiration from our proposed solutions. Starting with promoting the departure of immigrants and dismantling railway tracks at the eastern border, ending with the liquidation of SIF – our uncompromising proposals suddenly begin to appear in the slogans and appeals of other forces. It is pleasant to see that the ASL effect works and we are able to influence the national political agenda even before the elections. However, I have well-founded doubts about whether these forces will at all be able and willing to actually fulfil the promises borrowed from us. The original always differs from the imitation. Others use our ideas for loud headlines, but we have a clear will and determination to actually implement them. If you want to be sure of a true revival of a Latvian Latvia – choose the original! On 3 October, vote for Austošā Saule Latvijai!

@jacob94 Roughly so, yes. In the case of LSM, it's already a usual thing.

@EdvinsSnore LSM is able to turn any action by Dombrava into 'questioning' and a scandal. When a letter offers help, it is presented as questioning solidarity. Objectivity ends where dislike for a particular politician begins.

Tell us about those golden visas. What will happen to Latvia if wealthy Canadians, Brits, Norwegians gain tax residency here. Well yes, they won't work for Bolt. Promoting migration ibio… Poles with their strict migration policy do this with a bang. They lure Westerners with money. https://t.co/e0ZUSZbVk0

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the first government where the prime minister, defense and interior minister work together in the sweat of their brow to actually solve the problems of illegal immigration. This hasn't happened before.

Tomorrow the government will discuss the Rail Baltica project in a closed thematic committee meeting. There are two pieces of news. The good one: the new government, for the first time since its creation on May 29, is finally starting to look at Rail Baltica issues. The bad one: decisions will not be made, and the public will most likely not learn anything, because the meeting will be held in a closed format. A lot has been done over the past year, so this government must not limit itself to empty statements that 'work continues' or, on the contrary, that 'everything is bad.' More than a week ago, an independent assessment was completed, which analyzed three scenarios, the possible scope to be built in the first phase, sources of financing, options to switch or adjust contracts, as well as responsibility for design errors. Information related to national security can be secret, not project management solutions and responsibility for mistakes made. I want the work started during my ministerial mandate on reviewing project solutions, reducing costs, and evaluating mistakes made to be continued.

From August 12, the new EU packaging regulation will start to apply. Small producers fear that they will have to register in each country, list every packaging component, and cover fixed costs that can be disproportionately high for small shipment volumes. At the same time, the Ministry of Climate and Energy points out that the requirements will be introduced gradually and many details, including guidelines, have not yet been developed. A new packaging register will need to be created, but first clear requirements are needed, and the system itself must be as simple as possible. KEM explains that currently nothing essentially changes in the flow of shipments, because the regulation's requirements will come into force gradually – in 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030. Circular economy and reduction of packaging volume are correct goals. However, green regulation must not create a situation where a small Latvian producer can no longer sell their goods in Finland or Germany, because separate registration and different reporting requirements are required in each country. The EU single market needs a unified packaging register and a simplified regime for small businesses. Climate policy will only be acceptable to society if its requirements are understandable, proportionate, and easy to implement. https://t.co/N4FSqXpjLU
