@JurgisLiepnieks And the United List pushed exactly the mixed electoral system contrary to what Kulbergs said. https://t.co/w3UXmLZT7d

Everyone, of course, can misspeak or make a mistake with a number, but Kulbergs 2x during the debates, even when specifically asked, and then still claims here that 3500 ministry employees cost 2 billion. Thus showing his “very precise calculations”. That is no longer just incompetence, it's even worse :)

WIND-BAG KULBERGS When Kulbergs became prime minister, he announced that the time of empty talk was over. Not even four months passed before he himself is the wind-bag. Yesterday on LTV our member asked him a very simple question. The United List's program included changing the electoral system. People voted for it. Where has it gone? Answer: at present, what is primarily needed is stability, security and certainty. Experiments are needed when there is a free opportunity to do them. Let me translate from bureaucratic language into Latvian: never. A free opportunity will never appear. There will always be war, crisis, budget, inflation, some new misfortune. That is why every next government will be able to say exactly the same. And will say. When asked which other points of his program are experiments, the prime minister answered that they are not experiments. That's all. That is the answer. Stability, security and certainty are in cemeteries. Nothing changes there, everything is stable there. Living people change the rules precisely in difficult moments, because in easy moments nobody needs it. In Liepāja we would call this not empty talk, but empty bullshitting. From a reformer to an ordinary Unity-type politician in four months. A record. Kulbergs is not a doer. Kulbergs is a babbler. We change the rules · @partijaMMN #MēsMaināmNoteikumus #15Saeima

@ivchix Actually, I said that the entire state apparatus, 3500 employees together, costs €2 billion, not savings, pointing out that it is not a large sum compared to state procurement and other cost items.

How to evaluate the 100 days of the Kulberg government? What is Andris Šuvajevs worried about? How expensive is keeping airBaltic in the air? These and other questions are discussed by "Ir" colleagues Ieva Jakone, @AivarsOzo and @raudseps. 🔗 https://t.co/3uMOLy6Vlv https://t.co/0IeEBUPy5C

To clarify. The 1.9 billion is the compensation amount that includes defense (soldiers, national guards), as well as internal affairs (police, border guard, State Fire and Rescue Service), justice, and part of health (e.g., Emergency Medical Service). About 60% of this amount goes to security and order sectors, not to bureaucrats in offices. There are about 12 thousand bureaucrats.

“This is a tragic plague that has entered the state apparatus everywhere. It has been done by the previous policy of always blaming someone. It has come to the point that every paper has 12 signatures, not one, but 12. This responsibility has dissolved. How to solve it? The civil service law must be changed,” Andris Kulbergs (AS) said in the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debates in Riga. #Vēlēšanas2026

“In the Ministry of Economics there is a statistics administration, where more than 400 employees currently work. Now, by introducing modern technologies, we can go from these 400 to 100, and invest these resources in economic development,” said Viktors Valainis (ZZS) during the #IzvēliesLatvijasNākotni debates in Riga. #Vēlēšanas2026

If a political force cannot clearly say that Vladimir Putin must stand trial for Russia's crimes committed in Ukraine, then that is a deliberate evasion of naming the aggressor. I asked a simple question, to which a simple answer was needed: yes or no? I never got an answer. In matters of Latvia's national security there can be no half-truths, evasive excuses, and Kremlin propaganda theses. Russia is an aggressor state. Putin's regime is responsible for the brutal war in Ukraine, and the guilty must stand trial. When choosing Latvia's politicians, it is important to understand – will they defend Latvia or will they look for excuses for Russia. Here the dividing line is very clear. 🇱🇻🇺🇦 #APVIENOTAISSARAKSTS @LRApvieniba @Apvienotais_ Video: TV24

Latvia needs not another fairy tale of beautiful promises, but courage to make difficult decisions and fix what has been spoiled in previous years. THE UNITED LIST sees Latvia as a safe, strong, and self-confident country. A country where society is united, people trust each other, and the government is worthy of the trust of its people. A Latvia that no one can intimidate or threaten and that our children do not have to leave to seek a happy land elsewhere. The path will not be easy, but the happy land is not to be sought in the world – we must build it together right here. Eternal sunshine to Latvia! 🇱🇻 #APVIENOTAISSARAKSTS @Apvienotais_ @LRApvieniba Video: TV24

As @MGruskevics would say - we do not cultivate the cliché that AS are the same empty ones as their other government colleagues!! The Prime Minister this morning clearly stated that it concerns all grains of Russian and Belarusian origin and that a "300% fee increase for the use of LV railway infrastructure for transit of these grains" will be introduced and "he will do everything necessary so that there is no interest to bring grains through the territory of Latvia"!!

From the Twitter exchange with @AndrisKulbergs and @MGruskevics one can deduce that the Cabinet of Ministers is about to impose a 300% markup not on railway infrastructure, but on the transport tariff. However, it can only be applied to the state-owned LDz Cargo, not to the private carriers controlled by both AŠ and Meroni.

For those who have questions about lines, Ainārs, and Lenin, it's worth reading this brilliant interview by @robertszile. #KāĀmursUzNaglas

An interview by Agnese Margēviča with one of the leaders of the National Alliance, Roberts Zīle, about the current and next coalition, about taking Šlesers into the coalition, about Kulbergs' micromanagement and drawing lines in politics.
