What does the airBaltic rescue plan actually entail?
The airBaltic rescue plan envisages that the state will lose influence in the company. 'Nothing Personal'
Kučinskis has convened a crisis management meeting on Monday to address the consequences of the storm.
Day No. 59 in the prime minister's seat — security, difficult legacies and decisions that can no longer be postponed
From@Apvienotais_Today, the APVIENOTAIS SARAKSTS Latgale team visited Organic Products in Ludza – a place where the local, self-grown and self-made is not just a story, but also very tangible. The scent of herbs, teas and spices fills the entire space. This is a story about choosing to stay in one's native region, taking over the parents' farm and step by step building one's own business. From sheep farming to vegetable growing, but today already to a self-created product line – dried herbs and spice blends, berry and vegetable powders and teas. Of course, we did not leave empty-handed – we also bought their products. It is a joy to see that quality and interesting products are being made right here in Latgale and that people choose to invest their knowledge, work and energy in their native region. #APVIENOTAISSARAKSTS #MumsIrRisinājums #KulbergsIrRisinājums #LatvijaMumsIrRisinājums #LatgaleMumsIrRisinājums #Ludza #Latgale #RažotsLatvijā #7Saraksts #SaeimasVēlēšanas2026

Siliņa is doing everything so that JV would not overcome 5% in the Saeima elections👍 https://t.co/iNIRP3jIoU
From@AndrisKulbergs“In 2024, Evika Siliņa called this a ‘very successful deal’. It seems to me that after two years we finally have the opportunity to assess how successful it was.” “340 million euros at 14.5 percent. Then another 40 million. Total 380 million. At the time, even financial market experts publicly said — this was the most expensive bond rate in Europe that year‼️But the government told us about a success.” “If the market asks a company for 14.5 percent, that is not a compliment to the company. It is a very loud warning signal.” “And that is precisely where my main complaint against the previous government lies. If you borrow money at 14.5 percent, a fundamental corporate transformation plan must be on the table that same day — what the fleet will be, how costs will be reduced, how the capital structure will be arranged, and when a strategic investor will come in.” “Instead, we continued the growth story. Now, two years later, we have Seabury, creditor negotiations, preparation of a new plan, and discussion about who will give the next money.” “That is why I sometimes look with a certain envy at the previous government’s optimism. Borrowing at 14.5 percent and calling it a very successful deal — you really need to know how to be that optimistic.” “Our government will not repeat this mistake. First restructuring. First creditor participation. First a viable airBaltic. And only then a conversation about whether the state still has to finance anything more.”

Minister calls to extend the deadline for applying for storm damage compensation

From@nezobisThe Prime Minister and the President are trying to screw you with the fairy tale that freely accessible declarations of officials create a risk. But do the personally identifiable data freely accessible in UR databases, Latvijas Vēstnesis, or the KNAB donor database not create a risk? They are lying to you, because the primary goal is to hide officials' data, since they feel that public dissatisfaction with corruption and the inaction and irresponsibility of state officials is growing, and so is knowledge and interest in monitoring officials more, because people are fed up that among these people there are so many scumbags, while all sorts of KNABs are completely useless. An informed public is dangerous to these cretins, so if Kulbergs pushes this through, it is only done to keep us in darkness and ignorance about the loudest squeals of the most equal pigs. I urge you not to vote for Apvienotais Saraksts. Their interests are not the people's interests, but the interests of a narrow caste.

@djjapanis Exactly to the point, the prime minister is spouting devastating nonsense! Again - Europe protects Latvia, not Latvia protects Europe. Europe has always managed without Latvia and can continue to do so. Latvia cannot manage without Europe.
From@djjapanis@JurgisLiepnieks This attack on Kulbergs looks a bit uncool. In essence, the prime minister hasn't said anything wrong, and the fact that additional funds are being requested in Europe for strengthening the border is hardly reprehensible or wrong. Nobody is getting upset about increasing support for Latvian agriculture.

Absurd these populist stunts every year before the budget generously announce that we will freeze something for ourselves. The law on remuneration of officials and employees of state and municipal institutions, coefficients and calculation of base monthly salary must be changed https://t.co/LLPm46icUX

One thing outside the ASL programme that I promise and keep is not to torment people with AI-generated texts. As for understanding European security, first of all one must confront neo-Marxism, which after World War II and the 1968 student 'revolutions' loaded Europe with an inadequate sense of guilt, started a fight against the 'patriarchy', patriotism and healthy nationalism. Europe's operating system is not adequate for 21st-century war threats, because everything still revolves around the idea that patriotism = Nazism (never mind that Germany was defeated by British, French, Polish, Czech and other patriots) and leads to 1 September 1939, while unlimited acceptance of refugees and yielding to Russian imperialism is 'moral superiority'. To the average liberal Western European, a Russian is a misunderstood victim, but a Ukrainian nationalist who can defend his homeland with a weapon is a potential threat, see the vatnik Ragozin's info-op targeted directly at a Western audience. That is why the British fleet currently has more admirals than warships, Germans cannot turn their industrial potential into military power, and Eastern Europeans hope that Western Europeans will understand the importance of a secure EU border. These are not good news - one must confront an entire worldview and the illusions of several European generations about living in a candy world with pink unicorns, rather than a world with Putin with the mentality of an 18th-century Russian imperialist and a 1930s Chekist, or with Islamists with their medieval ideology, which can be stopped only by a healthy identity, self-respect and strength.
From@AndrisKulbergs🇱🇻 Latvia is currently paying for security from which all of Europe benefits. However, the bill remains largely with us. From 2027, Latvia will spend at least 5% of GDP on defense. We are strengthening the EU and NATO external border with the aggressor state. This border is not only Latvia's border—it is Europe's security border. But the current system is unfair. ➖️ Latvia borrows money to build fortifications and strengthen the eastern border. ➖️ Due to border-area risk, we pay higher interest on this debt. ➖️ Due to geopolitical risk, Latvia also loses investments and tourists. ➖️ At the same time, we buy billions worth of armaments and military equipment mainly from 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇫🇷 France, 🇸🇪 Sweden, 🇳🇱 the Netherlands, 🇪🇸 Spain and other countries. So Latvia takes on the debt and risk, while our defense spending simultaneously warms Western European economies. And all this is done to protect not only Riga or Daugavpils. Deterrence at Latvia's border also makes Berlin, Munich, Paris and Amsterdam safer. Therefore, the 7 billion euros Latvia is asking for is not “extra money for Latvia.” It is part of the cost of protecting Europe's common border. In seven years, that would be only about 0.4% of the nearly 2 trillion euro EU budget. For 449 million Europeans—about 2.23 euros per person per year. One coffee. For Latvia's inhabitants—about 540 euros per year. This difference very clearly shows the problem. Latvia will defend its border in any case. The question is—will all of Europe pay for Europe's common security, or will we leave a disproportionately large share of the bill to countries that happen geographically to be next to the aggressor's border? We are not asking for solidarity just for the sake of solidarity. We are offering the most effective European security investment—investing money where the real threat is. 🇪🇺 Europe's eastern border is common. The bill for its defense must also be common. https://t.co/oyE1yMcnR2

@UlvisSilins Once again - Europe protects us, not we Europe! Europe will survive without us, we without Europe, no! Spain helps us, not we Spain, as the prime minister extremely irresponsibly and incompetently claims!
From@UlvisSilinsI think we need to distinguish NATO and Europe. If Spain has no pragmatic reasons to be in NATO, then it should leave. Although there are dozens of pragmatic reasons, so probably not everything will happen. Speaking of the EU external border, which Kulbergs talks about, Spain would be a beneficiary of such a format. If of course they would guard something. And the EU MUST pay for guarding the external border.
