Kulbergs' misinformation about 'forgetting' is being replaced with a half-truth about explosives. Overall, such a pre-election campaign, dragging Latvia's defense sector into it, is irresponsible. I express deep regret about that. But about the substance. If I had acted more simply, then Latvia might not have so rapidly developed innovative technologies that will protect our country, and which we can now also sell to our partners worldwide. That is exactly what the story is about when I speak of Latvia as a drone great power. What someone has called empty talk – these are weapon systems made in Latvia that will now protect our airspace. The agreement to support the development of 'Origin Robotics' counter-drone systems and the planned deployment on the border was my initiative, which strengthens both Latvia's drone and counter-drone industry and Latvia's airspace. Did everyone support it? Initially certainly not. Were there discussions about how to properly implement these new (!) systems? Of course! But this was a 100% correct decision, for which I can answer. The development, testing, and implementation of new systems always takes time. But nothing was 'forgotten' here – tasks were given to find the best solutions so that the systems would be combat-ready, and such a solution was found, with the first warhead deliveries starting in April.

More on the chronology: ➡️ In February 2025, on my initiative, we signed an agreement with the Latvian company “Origin Robotics” for the development of interceptor drones. ➡️ Already in October 2025, interceptor drone tests took place at the Sēlija training ground. After them, agreements were signed with two Latvian companies. With “Origin Robotics” for the purchase of 48 interceptor drones.

“It is unimaginable stupidity to make soldiers themselves manually fill explosives into drones.” I will allow myself to disagree with @AndrisKulbergs - this is not STUPIDITY, IT IS A CRIME!! Soldiers can fill explosives into drone warheads only in extreme necessity, in WAR conditions! P.S. Unrelated. Before taking up ministerial office, @AndrisSpruds as an “academic teaching staff member” had gone to RUSSIA to participate in umpteen various Gazprom-paid and FSB-supervised “conferences”. IS IT STILL NOT UNDERSTOOD????

I cannot agree with you. I have been on his team relatively recently and I see that currently, when touching any issue where one has to think about reviewing financial spending, it is turned into a scandal in the public space. So how can one change anything without changes?😅

@CerinsAivis I am not one of those who expect a 'bowl of porridge' from the government and reforms for the sake of reforms. I expect a vision, a plan, implementation. Kulbergs only looks for scandals, Riga Heat, RailBaltic, NGOs, drones. Yes, there are big problems, but where are there not? Where are the solutions?

Here will be the whole truth about unpurchased charges for anti-drone systems during Defense Minister Sprūds' tenure. Yesterday, during my visit to the Sēlija training ground, I spoke directly with an NBS and a 20-year experienced explosives expert. It is unimaginable stupidity to make soldiers manually fill drones with explosives – it requires training every drone operator in the use of explosives and significantly increases the risk to lives.

Night drone incident! Thank you to the National Armed Forces and NATO allies for their professional and operational response, successfully destroying the unmanned aerial vehicle that entered Latvian airspace in the middle of the night. Units are currently searching the area. Leadership is in contact with Balvi Municipality. We will inform you as soon as additional information is available. This is proof that Latvia's airspace is being protected. At the same time, such incidents remind us that we must continue to strengthen Latvia's eastern border surveillance and counter-drone capabilities in order to detect, identify, and neutralize any potential threat as quickly as possible.

@Broks Almost no political force thinks about the economy and earning money, except us. 100% of them think about dividing up the money.

From@Broks

In party programs we very specifically write – 5% of GDP for defense. Correct, it cannot be otherwise. However! Reading the programs, it is much harder to find the other figure – how big a Latvian economy we want to achieve? Because 5% is only a mathematical formula. 5% of 40 billion is 2 billion. 5% of 50 billion is already 2.5 billion. What will Latvia's GDP be in four years? What growth do we want to achieve? And which three or five decisions will lead us there? Perhaps before dividing up percentages of GDP, we should talk much more seriously about how we will increase GDP itself and what goals we set.

This year, of the 2.5G€ base budget deficit, the social budget covers 0.5G€, which would be enough to add on average €100 per month to pensions! However, @AndrisKulbergs' government, contrary to promises, does not reduce spending, but indexes pensions for next year by only €30-40! https://t.co/VDpLk5u4m1

@DievaSuns Without superfluous justifications to Kulbis, show what substantial can be done in two and a half months.

I have no objection that the next government is also formed and led by AS, but Kulbergs should not be Latvia's prime minister. He does not suit this position. Now the elections are approaching, hold yourself in check, show him the green light for the next four years and you will remember Siliņa with warm feelings.

@Vinkele @E_Stendzenieks We have enough of our own. Why import more strangers if we can't deal with our own? You will pay for it from your cushy big salary?
