BNN in focus | A political scientist's view. The leader in the polls is clear, but with whom to form the government? Rajevskis on the biggest unknown.
Can this really not be resolved in four months @MarisKucinskis @Finmin ?! It is not the first time with problems of a similar nature, and @LatvijasBanka has a special mechanism created to provide a solution for timely account opening within the law. https://t.co/5c9hOwbees

From@liana_langaA little I will inform about the political games, so that before the elections the work done by NA would not be visible: 1/ The amendments to the Higher Education Law were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on 8 September; on 11 September @AndrisKulbergs sent them to the Education Committee of party member Batņa. 2/ The Ministry of Education and Science asked to include them on the IKZK agenda; that did not happen. 3/ On 17 September they were considered in the Saeima and handed over for review to Batņa's committee. 4/ At the 21 September cooperation meeting, the coalition partners agreed to consider the law amendments before the elections. 5/ On 22 September, MP Normunds Dzintars asked at the committee meeting to include them in the agenda; THAT WAS DENIED! 6/ Now it has scheduled review in the subcommittee for 6 October and in the committee for 13 October. WHY is that? Think, friend!

Following all sorts of debates and pre-election debates this week, I now hear for the umpteenth time that poor Kulbergs cannot get any work done because the Cabinet is supposedly piled up with museum price lists and similar trifles. Two things must be said here: 1) those are lies or, more likely, Kulbergs's usual incompetence. There is even a special Cabinet decision that the Cabinet does not approve price lists. https://t.co/wWeGnMTg1V 2) The Prime Minister alone is personally responsible for what the Cabinet of Ministers does or does not decide. That is his job for which he receives a salary. Of course, if he knows how to lead. If he only watches from the sidelines what happens, then yes — all sorts of miracles happen. I would definitely advise not voting for a prime ministerial candidate who has already proven that he does not even remotely understand the duties and specifics of the head of state's executive power, because we will all pay very dearly for it.
Kulberg's communication: how did the prime minister achieve such popularity
The Ministry of Transport plans to declassify part of the restricted-access documents of airBaltic.
🎯 Absolutely agree! Often bureaucracy is used as a cover where it can safely be avoided. https://t.co/aMb7g1UcMt
From@murcielagor@Ceslavs_Batna @IIndriksone @didzisdejus @janisdombrava A good way to stall a decision by dragging out formal procedures. Changes to the University Law, of course, should be at least formally coordinated with universities, but in practice — migration policy is not a university matter, and moreover, universities are an interested party.

From@IIndriksone@didzisdejus @janisdombrava The obstacle is in the Saeima committees chaired by members of the United List. Amendments to the Immigration Law and the University Law, which would place strict restrictions on fake students and impose liability and penalties on universities that invite third-country students for violations, are being kept in drawers.

Soft power seeping back in through the side door can cost very dearly.
Is it true that others also feed off security funding; why by 2030 the budget must be balanced so that borrowing would only be needed for defense - conversation with Finance Minister Māris Kučinskis and Procurement Monitoring Bureau head Artis Lapiņš: https://t.co/IBZZgJiWum https://t.co/F6isT83Bvm
From@liana_langaGood day, hon. @AndrisKulbergs, why are the immigration restriction plans being stalled? What is the United List’s ideology — profit at any cost at the expense of Latvia’s national identity and statehood? The Latvian people should understand this before the elections! #RunāLatviski https://t.co/3HT7kLcjuP

‼️ Again, migrant-based business is being lobbied behind the scenes, and again the adoption of anti-immigration decisions is being stalled both in the Cabinet of Ministers and in the Saeima! 🤯 This is already symptomatic! https://t.co/JPpiNMQylC

From@IIndriksone@didzisdejus @janisdombrava There you have it! The United List is delaying decision-making in the Saeima. For a long time already. And when asked to review it in a committee meeting so it could be supported at least in the first reading, Česlavs Batņa reportedly replied that no one will force him to do it.
