Have you ever had the thought that 'everyone around is stupid, I know better'? 😄 It seems that the owner of 'Europersonāls' has also experienced this feeling, whose company for 1.5 years selected board and council members for PSKUS, RAKUS, BKUS and other hospitals, but in the end the owner herself started running the Daugavpils Regional Hospital. But that's not all the 'charm'. So @AndrisKulbergs comes to lead the state, says that something is not okay with governance here. Tasks the State Chancellery to prepare a report on the situation. The State Chancellery writes a letter to everyone, pointing out violations of the law that have long been known to them, and essentially tells everyone that the Cabinet of Ministers requires a report, so it would be good to 'sort out the paperwork'. Responsibility? Haven't heard... https://t.co/Digc56AJPu

For those who ask - why Kulbergs doesn't do this and doesn't do that. Each coalition party in government has four ministers and it would be strange if Unity and ZZS would support decisions aimed at correcting their mistakes. The Cabinet of Ministers' agenda is regulated by the rules of procedure and with such a balance of power as it is, that's how it is.

Today together with the chairman of the council of @advokaturaLV Saulvedis Vārpiņš, I met with the relatives of the Latvian nationals missing in Nepal. 🇳🇵🇱🇻 Living in uncertainty about a loved one is extremely difficult. I consider it my personal duty to do everything possible so that these families do not have to fight alone with legal and practical issues during this time. We agreed that in cooperation with lawyers, specific legal support will be provided to the relatives. I also call on the heads of state institutions and private service providers to inform their employees and, as far as possible, help resolve the situations that have arisen. There are many of them, starting with mobile operator bills and other everyday payments to mortgage obligations and other processes that the missing person cannot currently handle themselves. More information is available on the homepage of the Ministry of Justice website: https://t.co/Oe3DIQSnR8 And above all we maintain hope that our people will be found and will return home. 🙏🏼

@B03091315B @pilsonis42 @AndrisKulbergs We need to go towards that, but with reason. Blaming @AndrisKulbergs for not being able to eliminate the feeding trough councils in 3 months is the same as asking him why you are not a dictator in Latvia. Only in that way would it be possible to do it in such a short time. Let's just be objective.

@CerinsAivis @pilsonis42 But @AndrisKulbergs promised to eliminate all councils?!🤡

🗣️ This morning was spent in an open conversation with journalist Guntars Gūtis. We talked about the Latvian judicial system, society's trust in the judiciary, and where in processes we can still give up on unnecessary administrative steps. We also discussed the high-profile court cases and why some cases drag on, the shortage of judges and generational change, as well as how to build better dialogue between courts, the bar, the prosecutor's office, and other institutions in the justice sector. ⚖️ A strong justice system is not just laws and court rulings. It is also the ability to talk to each other, hear problems, and jointly seek solutions. A longer conversation will soon be available in the newspaper “Diena” 🗞️

@hansa_lv Yes, even when the guy from CSDD was running two hospitals at the same time…

It is interesting that almost no public or journalistic interest is raised by the board and council members of the large university hospitals (now and previously) who have no (or close to no) prior connection to the healthcare field.

This smells really bad. How did the lady leave RS with clean papers? It was clear they would all be thrown out, because the RS council wasn't doing its job. She left on her own, clean CV, and the next council was already waiting to loaf around for perks. And they tell us simpletons that 2x2=5🙃 well, we'll see… https://t.co/tpAPsIfW2D

This is a mockery of health care. A person without experience in health care is appointed to the board of @Aslimnica, who recently resigned from the board of “Rīgas siltums”. Apparently, from heat supply to hospital management is just one step. Meanwhile, competent industry professionals are filtered out in the competition. Exactly in whose interests was such a competition held?

@normundsbergs Not so much bureaucracy, though also that. This directly and unequivocally increases the cost of construction itself. Which delights a certain business segment - architects and adjacent segments - various 'designers' and others similar. They are simply ecstatic if they manage to lobby it through.

business has great CONCERNS that it will increase bureaucracy. https://t.co/zwcHnDiH6n

Simplified expropriation of real estate for public needs ✅ The government has supported the Ministry of Justice's proposal to abandon an unnecessary bureaucratic step in the voluntary expropriation of real estate for public needs. If a property is needed for the construction of a road, railway, or another publicly significant object and an agreement has been reached with the owner, after determining fair compensation, a separate Cabinet of Ministers decision will no longer be necessary. This means: 🔹 the process can be completed about a month faster; 🔹 the owner will receive fair compensation sooner; 🔹 government employees will not have to spend time on a procedure that no longer changes the decision in essence. In the implementation of "Rail Baltica" alone, such an additional government decision has so far been needed in more than 100 cases. Public administration must work efficiently. If a procedure does not provide real added value, it must be abandoned! It is important to add that nothing is taken from the owner without compensation, and their rights do not change. Compensation will also continue to be fair and correspond to the actual value of the property. If a previously performed property assessment has become outdated, the property will need to be re-assessed before the decision is made. ℹ️ Now the Saeima must decide on the amendments.

@MarisKaminskis I have only one guess. Somewhere, possibly, there exists some common pot, into which these constantly rotating specialists throw part of their astronomical salaries, feeding the necessary people with large spoons. I cannot see any other logic here…

Remember Vineta Kutkeviča, former member of the Rīgas siltums council. Kulbergs' investigative committee found that her husband's company has been very successful in RS procurement and she left her post… to end up on the RAKUS council. @AndrisKulbergs when will this nightmare actually end?

To make the procurement system in Latvia more efficient, I will propose that from next year information about completed procurements must be published – this will save quite significant financial resources. https://t.co/s1xRg8vSak

INFORMATION ABOUT DOGS THAT BIT CHILDREN Dogs that bite children on the street must be euthanized if owners are unable to ensure their safe supervision. We live in a state governed by the rule of law, and this must be done in accordance with the law (the law stipulates that dogs that have caused harm must be put down). First, the police must provide a conclusion. The main responsible party is the owner. Every person who takes on a dog must be responsible for its socialization and training. As a person, a father of children, and a responsible dog owner, I believe that if you cannot ensure that your dog is not dangerous to others, you should not have that animal. And yes, unfortunately, the fate of these dogs must be decided and they must be put down. HERE IS PRECISE INFORMATION ABOUT TODAY'S SITUATION: Here is a brief summary of the dog case: * After the dog attack on September 4 in Carnikava, in which six children and a teacher were injured, the State Police has initiated criminal proceedings, while the municipal police has initiated administrative violation proceedings. After initial procedural actions, the dogs were returned to the owner. * From July 1, 2026, a new legal framework (amendments to the Animal Protection Law) is in force regarding dogs that have attacked a person. It provides for a special procedure for keeping such dogs, as well as conditions under which a dog must be euthanized. * Mandatory euthanasia is provided if a dog has caused serious bodily injury or death to a person and the dog's owner has been held criminally liable for violation of animal keeping rules - a court ruling has entered into force. Therefore, euthanasia is not automatic immediately after an attack. * For the practical application of the amendments, the Ministry of Agriculture had to develop Cabinet of Ministers regulations by July 1 on the keeping regime for attacking dogs. They provide for stricter requirements: muzzles, short leash, adult handler, and other restrictions, but the regulations have not yet been adopted. * The Ministry of Agriculture's delay is not the reason why the Carnikava dogs were not euthanized or were returned to the owner, but it means that the security regime provided for in the new regulation after a dog attack has not been fully implemented in the country. The Ministry of Agriculture bears political responsibility for this incompleteness of the regulation.

The case with the dogs is something terrible and such situations must not happen again. I feel for the victims and their families. Wishing a quick recovery! I will follow up to ensure that the PVD procedures regarding aggressive animals are carried out in accordance with the seriousness of the situation. https://t.co/EKdbvHxRKa

All three can be calmly merged into one. But will that automatically help? In municipalities it's the opposite. They significantly reduced the number, but the number of employees increased. It's everywhere. I remember when they discussed the problem of 2 schools in Saulkrasti. Everyone understands everything, but votes against. One deputy has a relative working in one, might lose the job. And there's always someone working somewhere. Each fights in their own microcosm for their own employment. Why not, if the salary is paid from someone else's money?🫠 Such a systemic tradition, stronger than burning tires on the solstice. And how to fight it, if we are like that and every place has its own bosses? Many are democratically elected, each fights for their own trough, for which they are also elected?

@andrievs That is our people's tradition, mentality. It doesn't happen only at the ministry level. Anyone at any level defends their own trough. https://t.co/Nv0vMKM0ge

Initially there were 2 ministries, based on which a third ministry was created. And the total number of employees in them is even larger than before. https://t.co/2eCkjcT9tA

@axe_lv @DiegoMustafa5 Yes, exactly, approximately a third of workers are employed in the public/social sector. Even that many of my detractors don't know. Level sensejs🫠

@DiegoMustafa5 @guntarsv In 2024Q2, 882.4 thousand people were employed in Latvia, or 64.3% of the population. 288,979 of them were in the public sector, which constitutes 32.75% of the total number of employed in the country. Yesterday, on September 5, a serious incident occurred during a walk of the preschool "Riekstiņš" pupils, in which six children were injured. A group of 19 children, accompanied by a teacher and a teacher's assistant, had gone on a previously agreed walk outside the educational institution's territory, following the approved walking route. During the walk, two unsupervised dogs approached the group of children from the end of Lašu Street. According to information provided by the institution, six children were injured in the incident, two of whom were hospitalized. One of the teachers accompanying the children was also injured. Four administrative violation proceedings have been initiated in connection with the incident. The Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) has been informed and will take action within its competence regarding the assessment of the dogs. The municipality is cooperating with the police, the Food and Veterinary Service, and other responsible services to clarify all circumstances and assess necessary further safety measures. After the police's procedural actions, the dogs were handed over to their owner. https://t.co/xHOtQmRb3g
