@guntarsv @AZvejsalnieks @AndrisKulbergs During the first two months, regularly walking past the physical Innovation Cabinet, I haven't met a single person there. An invitation has been sent to come to the workplace and tell what they do.

The child must be at the center of the entire child protection system. That is why the role, responsibility and cooperation of each institution must be clearly defined. 🤝 The orphan's court should not be the first institution to become involved in solving family problems. Its main task should be to protect the rights and interests of children, as well as persons in guardianship and custody. At the same time, careful consideration should be given to which functions should be retained in the orphan's court and which could be provided by other institutions. I believe that a unified information system is also needed to identify risks in time and coordinate support for the child and the family. I met with Baiba Meldere on these issues. Thank you for her long-term work in the orphan's court, accumulated experience and valuable conversation!

The main task of orphan courts is to protect the interests of children, not to perform functions that notaries can do professionally. By transferring notarial activities to notaries, orphan court specialists would have more time and opportunities to focus on complex family situations, promptly identify risks and help children who need this support the most. We need to clearly set a priority: the child must be at the center of orphan courts' attention! 👧🏼 Video author: LTV Rīta Panorāma (06.08.2026)

Many people are annoyed that companies or individuals get registered at their property, and then they have to fight and prove that it happened without their permission. That shouldn't be the case! ❌ To prevent such situations, the Ministry of Justice is working on amendments to the law that would stipulate that a company's legal address can only be registered in another individual's property with the owner's consent. Our duty is to protect the rights to property and the inviolability of private life guaranteed by the Constitution! Video author: LTV Rīta Panorāma (06.08.2026)

👧🏼 The interests of every child must be properly protected, and the state must be able to provide support in time when it is most needed. Together with representatives of the Regional Development Center and the Association of Municipalities, we agree that the child rights protection system must be purposefully improved, more clearly defining the responsibility of institutions and prioritizing the child's interests. The main task of orphan's courts must be the protection of children's rights and interests, not the performance of duties that can be professionally provided by other institutions. Therefore, the possibility of transferring notarial functions performed by orphan's courts to notaries should be evaluated. This would allow orphan's court specialists to devote more time to complex family situations, promptly notice risks, and help children who need support the most. At the same time, any changes must ensure that legal services remain available throughout Latvia, including in the most remote regions, without creating additional costs or unnecessary obstacles. The system must serve the child and the family. That is the main principle of our future work.

As I promised, changes will be made and the proposals of the Riga Heat investigation commission and the State Control will be put into use to reduce the heat tariff in Riga. Thank you @JanisVitenbergs and KEM VS @LigaKurevska for a very well-developed plan with clear deadlines and responsible parties to make the necessary changes in the short and long term.

At today's press conference, Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs informed about the most important decisions taken at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting. The government's priority is to reduce heating tariffs both in the near term and long term. It is planned to streamline the management of heating supply systems by transferring water heating boilers from 'Latvenergo' to the company 'Rīgas Siltums' so that 'Latvenergo' can focus more on electricity production. At the same time, the tariff calculation methodology will be reviewed with the aim of making heat in Riga one of the cheapest among Baltic capitals. To protect the rights of real estate owners, the Ministry of Justice is developing a new procedure that will provide that a person's registration in a property is possible only with the owner's consent. The system will be simple - the owner will be able to confirm registration electronically. The government also agreed to review the temporary residence permit system, as the current regulation no longer corresponds to the current situation. A new model will be developed using the experience of other European countries to attract investment and strengthen Latvia's economy. The Ministry of Defence has found a legal solution to land use issues that will allow more efficient deployment of radars and air defense systems. This is a significant step in strengthening the protection of Latvia's airspace and improving national security. #APVIENOTAISSARAKSTS #MK #Lēmumi #AndrisKulbergs

⚖️ Not all family disputes need to be resolved in court. Mediation helps people choose dialogue instead of mutual conflict. This is especially important in family disputes, where parental conflict often becomes a burden on the child. At the same time, mediation helps reach a solution faster and relieves the courts, allowing judges to dedicate more time to cases where reaching an agreement is impossible. Today, with the Council of Certified Mediators, we discussed how to make mediation more accessible across Latvia, especially in the regions, so that people can use this opportunity already at the beginning of a conflict, rather than when relationships have fully escalated. 📌 Already now, the state provides 5 free mediation sessions for families whose disputes affect the interests of the child, and 7 sessions for poor and low-income families.

@io7246 Today there was a conceptual discussion in the Cabinet of Ministers about this. Whether there is readiness and support to address it. We will analyze co-ownership and other situations once we start formulating a more detailed proposal. But it must be addressed, because in my opinion it is everyone's right to control what happens to their property.

Regarding declaration. Will it be stipulated that one can declare their residence in co-owned property only with the consent of all co-owners? @EdvardsSmiltens https://t.co/JtkmjFvLSx

The state will ensure that property seized in criminal proceedings does not lose value! 💶 Today the government supported amendments prepared by @Tiesletas that will allow in certain cases not only to store, but also to professionally manage property seized in criminal proceedings. In practice, this will mean that a seized car will be maintained in technical order, real estate will be managed, company value will be protected from squandering, and, for example, animals will be provided proper care. Transfer of property to management will not happen automatically. The process manager will decide in each case, assessing the specific circumstances. If the property can be safely left with its owner, user, or another trusted person, it can remain under that person's custody. These amendments will make criminal proceedings more efficient, reduce state expenses, and ensure a modern approach to managing seized property. ☑️

An assessment of remote work practice in the state administration is necessary, said Finance Minister Māris Kučinskis (AS) in an interview on “Rīta Panorāma”. The minister noted that remote work has brought many pluses, but there are also many questions, and it must be assessed whether remote work brings gains, not losses. 🖥️ https://t.co/4DugzTCxU3

There was just a protest that was supported by Palestinian citizens. They're going to take away NGO money😅 Yes, it will be gone through whom to give and not to give. The councils should already slowly group up, reserve, and call Palestinians for a similar event, because this will be reduced pretty soon. No question! https://t.co/zRxOOa5O4M

Amusing how @Progresivie calls out @ZZS_ for placing their people in positions without a competition, but meanwhile they themselves just on 16 FEB in the railway tariff office LatRailNet with 20❗️ employees (where 2x are board members) quietly without a competition (at least I can't find one) extend the positions of 3x council members for 5 years. Why on earth does a small state company with 20 employees need 3x generously paid council members at all? For example 🇪🇪 such a function is under one roof - Competition Board with 59 employees and no council, performing both the Competition Council, and SPRK (regulator), and LatRailNet functions, which in Latvia together employ 243 employees and 3x sets of councils. This will be the first = No1. Liquidate the councils of any subsidiary capital company (totally pointless creation). No2. audit all redundant councils and inflated capital companies, which we @Apvienotais_ will do in government. https://t.co/Efbv0LcKLe

Another dirty legacy we received from the coalition led by the New Unity. The prosecutor's office is investigating this case and I fully support it. The possible culprits must be identified, and I hope that will happen soon. One can understand the desire to cover up one's erroneous, questionable, and careless decisions with political noise, but that is the worst thing one can do to the rule of law and the search for truth. At least do not be hypocrites, PRO and JV, and admit that you yourselves already in April considered the possibility of revoking this very decision and abandoned it for exactly the same reasons that are being voiced today. Namely, it cannot be done legally. The government is not a court, it's that simple. We @Apvienotais_ want to establish the truth, so we are acting. We will turn to the Constitutional Court asking it to assess the possible violation of powers by the Siliņa government in the wood industry case. We ask both PRO, JV, and other deputies to join in signing the application.

Strong rule of law is the foundation of Latvia's security, democracy and growth! ⚖️🇱🇻 The European Commission's positive assessment is a significant acknowledgment of the professional work of the judiciary, law enforcement institutions and the entire justice sector. We are currently working with the judiciary on amendments to the law that: 1️⃣ will further strengthen judicial independence in matters of judges' careers and budget 2️⃣ will introduce a court lawyer institute, which will provide support to judges so that cases are processed significantly faster https://t.co/gzWYdbSfWC

A court ruling must be not only fair, but also implemented in a timely manner! ⚖️ That is why, together with the Latvian Council of Sworn Bailiffs, we continue to improve the court ruling enforcement system: ✅ reducing bureaucracy by simplifying the debt recovery process in cases of company restructuring; ✅ promoting wider use of the e-address to speed up document flow and reduce costs; ✅ improving the regulation to prevent evasion of court ruling enforcement. The goal is clear – faster, more efficient and fairer enforcement of court rulings, which strengthens trust in the rule of law and reduces the administrative burden for both citizens and businesses.

@ineselibina Shall we open the topic about the botch and the ex-Minister's responsibility in these Unity Evika Siliņa government decisions, your opinions and their quality in the context of this scandal? About the received inheritance, its causes and consequences that the new @AndrisKulbergs government now has to deal with? https://t.co/o8i4dR2Kxi

Severe personal disappointment and a legal botch. Very weak, Mr. Prime Minister. I cannot believe that what was said has a non-political approval from @Tieslietas! https://t.co/XujfSAfZBo
