Political posts and news from Apvienotais saraksts among monitored Latvian public sources.
In private business, the manager is the decision-maker who allows things to happen but simultaneously takes full responsibility. In government, you depend on 3 coalition partners and their behavior in the Saeima. Therefore, without a dominant mandate from voters, it is impossible to achieve real bureaucracy reduction. After the elections, if society gives such a mandate, AS will certainly accomplish it.
From@VisockisJuris@AndrisKulbergs That means no bureaucracy reduction will happen, because in Latvia there has never been a coalition going in one direction, it has always been selfish tug-of-war. In your private business, if reforms/optimizations are needed, do you also wait for all cooperation partners, lazy employees, opponents of ideas to agree?

Day No.74 in the prime minister's chair (Wednesday) — TET data center, debates and 🇺🇦 Budanov at the Motor Museum. 🏢 OPENING OF TET DATA CENTER IN SALASPILS Latvia must become a leader in speed in the application of artificial intelligence. Did you know that TET stores almost 20% of Ukraine's state data on Latvian servers and provides cybersecurity services? We opened TET's new DC7 data center @SalaspilsLv — one of the most modern data centers in Latvia, also built for artificial intelligence technology needs. ➖️ Meets high security standards and is certified for Tier III level. ➖️ Data can be stored right here 🇱🇻 in Latvia, while creating backup infrastructure in Europe if needed. ➖️ The data center is connected to the largest optical internet network nodes in Latvia and international internet exchange points in Europe. ➖️ Even drone detection capabilities have been established. ➖️ A particularly good example of using residual heat in cooperation with Salaspils Siltums — the generated heat is not simply released into the air, but is used for heating. This is exactly what modern infrastructure projects should be — security, technology and energy efficiency in one place. 🛡️ THE RIGA CONFERENCE BUSINESS FORUM 2026 — “SECURITY AS A DRIVER OF GROWTH” At the LU business forum, I emphasized a simple principle: Strong security is possible only together with a strong economy. Latvia invests approximately 2 billion euros annually in defense. My goal is to ensure that 30–40% of this money returns to the Latvian economy, developing our own defense industry, technologies, manufacturing and exports. A secure border cannot exist without a strong economy. 🇱🇻 @amchamlat UKCHam NordicsCham DEBATES WITH PRIME MINISTER CANDIDATES In the debates, I put the main emphasis on the economy, a balanced budget and Latvia's ability to earn more. My formula is simple: 💪 Strong economy = strong defence 📈 Strong economy = strong development 💶 Bringing new money = new economy 🌍 Export — including military industry 🏦 Less excessive caution and restrictions in the banking sector Latvia needs an economy that not only distributes existing money, but can create and attract new money. 🇺🇦 KYRYL BUDANOV AT THE MOTOR MUSEUM Meeting with Kyrylo Budanov at the Motor Museum. We talked about: ➖️ 🇺🇦 Ukraine's view of the security situation and the time we have to prepare; ➖️ 🇷🇺 The issue of Russia's stolen 🇺🇦 Ukrainian grain; ➖️ Latvia's readiness to help Ukraine with its grain exports. And another very apt comparison by Budanov, standing next to Brezhnev's Rolls-Royce. He described Russia's approach roughly like this: if Russia cannot fix Brezhnev's Rolls-Royce, it is simpler not to fix the car, but to ban Brezhnev from driving it. A fairly precise example of how the 🇷🇺 system works. 🙂 I also gave 3 interviews, Polish TV, EuroNews and UKR press. Everyone was interested in the security issue, Latvia's readiness, peace talks in Ukraine and Russia's attack on NATO.
@aldis_viesturs @MarisKaminskis @jarinovska @VL_TBLNNK @JanisVitenbergs @LatvijasBanka Generally, LB does not print money since we joined the Eurozone in 2014.
From@aldis_viesturs@MarisKaminskis @jarinovska @VL_TBLNNK @JanisVitenbergs @AndrisKulbergs The price increase is the direct responsibility of @LatvijasBanka. If it constantly 'prints' new 'money'. LB's mistakes should not be fixed with administrative methods 'The government has ...', but LB must be forced to stop issuing new money (or basing ECB on overnight borrowing at +/- 100% GPL).

Very correct action from the Minister of Justice @EdvardsSmiltens This kind of situation is not acceptable in elections https://t.co/ujJUbSK5uj
From@EdvardsSmiltensA candidate for the office of Prime Minister of Latvia must not have hundreds of thousands of euros of unclear origin from Russia. Jūlija Stepaņenko has declared monetary and real estate donations from her father living in Russia worth 419,598.05 euros, but refuses to explain the origin of the funds. Therefore, I have turned to KNAB, VDD, SAB, and FID, calling for verification of the origin of the funds, possible foreign influence, and whether the money was used to finance party activities or pre-election campaigning. If funding from Russia has been indirectly channeled to the party, there is also grounds to consider possible criminal liability. A person who aspires to lead the Latvian government must provide the public with clear and verifiable answers. Latvia's political independence and national security are not a private matter. There must be no unanswered questions here.

@GintsVilgerts @B03091315B If I'm not mistaken, it was ~€480 that I paid, but there were options.
From@GintsVilgerts@AndrisKulbergs @B03091315B Andris, this is not a Prime Minister level question, but I would gladly contact the Saeima chancellery to understand at what price and with what coverage MPs can purchase these policies as a result of the procurement. You have more important things to do. Good luck!

Please show where this government spent 30 million € for AB? There was no such thing. The road transport issue needs to be resolved, it's yet another messed-up soup, which was mixed and built with a cartelized event by T.Linkaitis. He kicked it forward and did not solve it; PRO Briškens, Švinka tried but did not fix it. Kozlovskim has been tasked to bring a long-term solution by mid-October.

My answer on what to do to reduce bureaucracy in the state apparatus https://t.co/1tuPES8UUq
From@tv24_lv“I want to weed out bureaucracy, but I cannot do it alone. In my daily Cabinet of Ministers meetings, my eyelids twitch and I want to cry, these meetings kill me, in which there is so much pollution with bureaucracy,” said Prime Minister @AndrisKulbergs @Apvienotais_, candidate for the 15th Saeima deputy position, on TV24’s program “Let’s Talk Openly!”.

Strong probation means fewer repeat offences, fewer victims and a safer society. Probation is based on the belief that people can change. If they are ready to take responsibility and start anew, the state must give them a real opportunity to do so — providing not only supervision but also support on the way back into society. The results of the State Probation Service confirm its importance: 🔹 in 2025, the service handled almost 15,000 cases; 🔹 probation clients worked 293,521 hours of community service, generating approximately €1.26 million of benefit for society; 🔹 importantly, one day of probation costs the state an average of €4.15 per person, while a day in prison costs €62.08. Timely engagement with children and young people is especially important. Early and individual support can help change behaviour before offences become repeated. At the same time, the service itself must be strengthened. Staff workload is growing, so it is necessary to improve work organisation, attract new specialists and continue the digitalisation of processes. To reduce administrative burden, the service has already identified 169 specific measures so that specialists have more time to work with people. Thank you to the @probacija team for the work that every day helps make Latvia safer. 🇱🇻🤝

@GintsVilgerts Saeima deputies do not have insurance policies; I myself bought one for myself.
From@GintsVilgertsIs it right that officials, Saeima deputies and employees have private insurance policies paid for by the state? That certainly does not improve health care. On the contrary, it may foster indifference. MMN will change this.

Life in the regions. Life with children... https://t.co/gxNRUgzopA
From@LRZinasEvery working day, 350 children from the regions go to Riga to receive state-funded healthcare, and this creates expenses for families, while parents have to miss work and children miss school, said State Auditor Edgars Korčagins on #Labrīt.
