@mansviedoklis1 @vasarasraibumi no - the document has a very tendentious title and the annotation is ambiguous if one doesn't read the whole document.

@vasarasraibumi @AndrisKulbergs How can the ministry even send incorrect documents for approval? Or maybe all documents are fine, only some have gone 'Ulmanis-style' - stay in your places, I in mine.

@vasarasraibumi if you read the entire TAP document, then everything becomes clear, but if you read only the title and short annotation of the proposed order project, then it's bad - I also told Vitenbergs that, to quickly change and stop misleading the public. LSM, in turn, could have read the document to the end.

@AndrisKulbergs That is LETA's news and headline—why do you quote LSM? And where should journalists now turn to find out whether every single document posted on TAP is correct and reliable? Also, ministers' salaries are funded by all 🇱🇻 residents; one would like equally high expectations https://t.co/OJU3uXKAPb

@andrislov that the fact that obtaining professional rights is heavily exaggerated is a fact - 3500€ is the minimum that investing in rights costs - way too expensive.

One example from life. Vienotība decided that for long-haul drivers, young people may study from 21, not from 16. Result - a 21-year-old has already completed something and is already working somewhere, and he doesn't have an extra 3k to study to be a driver. Instead of a Latvian, a Muslim from Uzbekistan comes... Vienotība must disappear, right @AndrisKulbergs?

thank you for what was said - we must not sow unnecessary, unfounded panic in the already fragile public opinion. Public media must be very careful, because a great responsibility lies on their shoulders, because society trusts information. Of course, that does not remove the responsibility from us politicians to provide quality information.

I agree with the Prime Minister. Politicians, journalists, etc. with great influence on public opinion must now approach what they say very responsibly. It is very easy to cause panic, and that is precisely Russia's goal - to make people afraid to live, visit or invest in the Baltic states. We must even critically approach what various security experts say, because any person tends to exaggerate the importance of their field of activity and the depth of their expertise. Not out of malice, that is simply human psychology. But that does not mean we should be naive and carefree. Quite the opposite - we must do everything to strengthen Latvia's security, which is the best means to deter any potential Russian aspirations - invest in Latvia's army, provide military training to Latvian citizens, strengthen borders, build ammunition and military equipment factories and logistics connections with Western Europe, learn from Ukrainian experience, break all economic and social ties with Russia, fight internal enemies, purge public administration of those who make it weak, corrupt and untrustworthy. And most importantly - all this must be done without unnecessary panic, which plays into Russia's interests.

@taisnibaskalps @VL_TBLNNK @Apvienotais_ do you think I am an investigator, prosecutor, judge and executioner all in one? I think each of us should do our own duties, mine is to run the state, services investigate, court imposes sentence.

Damn @AndrisKulbergs @VL_TBLNNK @Apvienotais_ if Briškens and Unity and PROGRESSIVES don't sit (in prison) then my faith in you is also below the baseboard https://t.co/VtRg8c0nDH

Day No. 63 in the prime minister's seat (Friday) — from the first speech in the Saeima, airBaltic to South Korean investments Friday started early — with an interview on LTV's Morning Panorama. 📺☕️ Questions, of course, about the most current topics — CSDD and airBaltic. 35th anniversary of the restoration of Latvia's real independence — celebrations in the Saeima with my first speech to the Saeima parliament and an award at the Presidential Palace to the outstanding Māra Zālīte - I recommend listening to her speech delivered in verse, it was something special. 🚗 CSDD In my opinion, CSDD now needs to come up with concrete solutions to reduce potential risks to citizens after the data leak. ➖️ For example, it should provide the option to change car license plates for free for those who wish. Initially, a few hundred new plates could be created, with old ones handed in and gradually replaced. That's just one possible solution. ➖️ I also believe that every affected person should individually receive an apology letter from CSDD, clearly stating what exactly their data was stolen, what the potential risks are, and where to seek help. ✈️ airBaltic I tried to very clearly explain one thing to TV viewers — it is NOT true that the government will now automatically give airBaltic 30 million euros again. The Saeima has given the government the opportunity to decide whether to lend money to the company together with private investors or not. If the state participates as a lender, then we can continue to sit at the same table where decisions about the company's future are made. No longer as owners or shareholders, but as lenders or bondholders. Because it is no secret — currently the state, as an airBaltic shareholder, has practically no real influence, and the value of our shares has effectively been lost. That's why it's important to at least retain the possibility to be at the table and know what will happen with the company next. 🇰🇷 Later in the day, I met with the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Park Duk-hyum. The conversation was very practical — not diplomacy for its own sake, but about concrete business, investments, and cooperation. ➖️ We discussed the MiCA regulation and Latvia's potential to become an even more significant financial and crypto-asset hub in Europe. Latvia already has its success stories here. ➖️ We agreed to develop the idea of Ādaži cooperation with a partner city in South Korea. 🇱🇻🤝🇰🇷 ➖️ I told about the advantages and uniqueness of the Sēlija military training ground, as well as Latvia's defense industry opportunities. ➖️ We also talked about Ķekava and specific cooperation opportunities. 💊 I see very good opportunities for Latvia's chemistry and pharmaceutical industry to cooperate with Korean companies in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients and components. ⚡️ Particularly interesting — a South Korean company plans investments in a methane production plant and SMR (small modular reactor) technology. Latvia should be active here from the very beginning. And at the end of the conversation, I said a very simple thing: We, politicians, are paid also to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and opportunities. Not only to talk about the economy, but to help create real deals. And it seems we are getting better and better at it. 💪

Young people are our future! 💪🏼 That is why it is a real joy to see young people who care about their country, who want to understand how it works, and who are not afraid to ask questions. Today at noon we hosted 20 active young people from the Latvian Regions Association at the Ministry of Justice. I introduced them to the ministry's work, its main tasks, and also the daily life of the Minister of Justice – how decisions are made and how the justice system affects each of our lives. The young people's interest and questions were especially pleasing. A democratic and rule-of-law state is not a given – it begins with people who understand their rights and duties and are ready to get involved. 📖 We also talked about the Constitution – the foundation of our state. I wished every young person to read it, because I am convinced that it would be valuable for everyone to know what values, rights, and principles are the foundation of our state. Thank you to the young people for their energy, curiosity, and interest in Latvia! 🇱🇻

I disagree with your claim; I pointed directly at LSM, which has a more important, state function = to present news, not misleading/panic-inducing headlines to produce clickbait, which all commercial media already sin at, because that's how they earn money. All 🇱🇻 residents fund public media to receive accurate, objective, verified, explanatory information - a medium to trust. Minister Vitenbergs and his team are guilty of letting tendentious headlines misinterpret information.

Minister: places misleading document on TAP portal. Prime Minister: MEDIA spread misleading news. Shifting blame has become a fantasy genre. Friends, not good. https://t.co/vOYBAT7jZN

Yesterday I saw scary videos and news from Nepal. At first it seemed that social media was flooded with AI-generated videos, because such terrifying scenes cannot be real. Turns out they can.\n\nInformation has been identified that among the missing there are 2 tourist groups from 🇱🇻 with 43 citizens. More info in the video.\n\nIf you have questions or additional information, call the MFA information service at +371 26337711 or email palidziba@mfa.gov.lv

I can be reproached for some invented incitement of hatred, but I believe that Stepaņi, Bremšmaņi, Čulkovi, etc. are nothing else but supporters and justifiers of these murderers, who should be kept at a distance from any power in our country. https://t.co/f60Co1SEu0

A family is saying goodbye to their father, who was killed by russians. When I watch this video, I feel an overwhelming sense of pain and injustice. And a deep call for justice. Russia must pay. The pain russians have inflicted on Ukrainians will be felt for generations. The evil they have unleashed will never be forgotten. The lives they have taken cannot be returned. The families they have destroyed cannot simply be made whole again. But the crimes they have committed must not go unpunished. There must be justice.

@B03091315B @CSDD_LV @AndrejsDeeCee And how exactly do you imagine physically implementing that? What would be the technical solution? You want to know, CSDD clearly provides such an option.

@CSDD_LV @AndrejsDeeCee Why do I have to go to e-csdd to see what those idiots have recorded for the hacker? CSDD has an OBLIGATION to inform EACH person individually whose data was leaked!! Andris Kulbergs understands that, right?

For the past month at least, coalition parties really should stop aggressively fighting each other, otherwise we risk waking up after the elections in a Russia-friendly country. It's also high time for the media to think about the country's possible future… https://t.co/Hha99oiFP6

📡 To improve communications in Latvia, internal roaming between mobile operators must be introduced. I personally experience this regularly when traveling to regions of 🇱🇻, and I hear the same from colleagues and people across Latvia — mobile communications may have become worse in many places. Call drops, lost coverage, insufficient coverage. One possible reason could be — we have rapidly transitioned to 5G, which requires a denser network of base stations, while the declining role of the 2G network in certain places may affect coverage availability. One solution — internal roaming within Latvia between LMT, Tele2, and BITE. That would mean: if your operator's network is not available in a specific location, your phone could in certain cases use another operator's network. This would allow more efficient and rational use of existing infrastructure, improve communication availability and, importantly, increase 🇱🇻 resilience in crisis situations. I looked into what's happening with this issue. It turns out — such an initiative has already existed! All operators have even agreed to it, but the issue has remained "hanging" in the MK TAP portal after submission by @Sat_Min. Perhaps it was simply forgotten along the way. 👉 I tasked the office to find out where this issue is stuck and move it forward. Communications are not just convenience. In a crisis they are part of national security and resilience. We must use everything that is already at our disposal so that 🇱🇻 is more prepared.

There is a misunderstanding and incorrectly spread news/headlines in media = there is no threat to Latgale and no need to declare a state of emergency. It is just an unfortunate wording of the order's title and annotation from the document submitted by KEM @JanisVitenbergs on the TAP portal. The ministry document's text is misleading and ambiguous (it is a mistake, the minister will correct it), but reading it in detail one can clearly understand both its meaning and essence - to introduce a legal framework for action in yellow and orange warning situations. Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs' address to the public I want to clearly tell the people of Latvia: there is currently no reason for concern. Latvia's level of military threat has not changed. The risk of a direct military invasion threat to Latvia is currently low. This is confirmed by the information available to our security services, and the President of the State has also publicly emphasized this. Yes, we live in a time when Russia's war against Ukraine continues nearby. We must reckon with cyberattacks, sabotage attempts, provocations, drones, and other manifestations of hybrid warfare. That is why state services are operating in a heightened alert mode, we are strengthening the eastern border, and together with NATO allies we are continuously monitoring the situation. However, preparedness for a potential threat is not the same as an immediate threat. These two things must not be confused. Unfortunately, in recent days we see loud statements in the public space about "threats of escalation of Russia's military action" and the declaration of a state of emergency. Such formulations, detached from the actual security situation assessment, understandably raise questions and concern among people. I call on both ministries and politicians to be particularly responsible on this issue. Security is not a tool for pre-election rhetoric. One must not earn political points with people's fears. If any ministry needs a special legal framework to ensure the continuous operation of hospitals, energy supply, water management, or other critical infrastructure in the event of a threat, the government will evaluate such proposals and make necessary decisions. That is our duty. But technical and organizational state preparedness measures should not be presented to the public as if Latvia were on the brink of war. Latvia is a safe country. We are a NATO member state. Allied forces are stationed in Latvia. Our airspace is continuously monitored, the eastern border is being strengthened, and our security services work together with the allies. The government's task is to be ready even for the worst scenarios. That is precisely why we are strengthening state resilience and critical infrastructure. So my call to the people of Latvia: let us live our daily lives, be calm but vigilant. For politicians and state officials, my call is stricter - be responsible with what you say! I ask journalists before publishing claims to contact and clarify what is meant by the draft order in the Cabinet of Ministers system.
