The coalition fell apart in 2023 because JV, in exchange for votes in the presidential election for Rinkēvičs' election, had promised PRO and ZZS their inclusion in the government. Kariņš hoped to fulfill this by expanding the coalition, but NA and AS disagreed. Therefore JV created a new coalition that included neither AS nor NA. However, there was Lembergs. AS is in a coalition with ZZS for the first time now, in the last 3 months. 3 years later than JV.

@pucej AS also loudly shouted that never with ZZS, and it was precisely AS's ultimatum regarding ZZS that caused the coalition to fall apart in 2023. Why do you emphasize only JV? Even if JV were the first ready to go with LPV (it isn't), Šlesers clearly said NO to JV. Meanwhile, neither LPV nor LA have excluded cooperation, and that is a black stain on LA.

Today there was hysteria in the Saeima Budget Committee. We showed the true state of the budget. This follows the Kübler-Ross model (described in the book 'On Death and Dying'). The first stage is denial. They denied the data, refused to believe it, and started shouting. What is it about? You see, the projected budget for the coming years has been deep in the red for a long time. This is publicly known. More than a billion needs to be cut, but mainly by 2030. That is far away. But that is only half the trouble. There are also additional decisions adopted for over 2 billion that need to be cut on top of that. And they have been promised, but money in the budget will be sought only after the elections (because it is a political choice and not for this Saeima). There you have it — so what will we take away? Only the new Saeima may decide that. Logically. And together it is apocalyptic — billions are not millions and not even hundreds. It means limiting public expenditure. Which ones? Well, that will be the choice of the next coalition/Saeima. We showed the apocalyptic hole in the wallet that has been built up over many years. And that is not all. These deficits are if we continue borrowing as before. Up to the brim. To achieve a deficit-free budget, 9 billion need to be cut. You could even dismiss all ministries and shut the state down, and it still would not be enough. So there you have it. Ten years of blatherers in power. What did you expect?

Māris Sprindžuks (AS): “To place a [temporary] bridge in a location where there is no corridor opposite – whether we put it by the Great Kristaps or opposite Muitas Street – that is not a place that can absorb traffic. If we get a throughput of 1500–600 cars per hour, that is not a benefit. Therefore it is much smarter to invest this money into lasting solutions, rather than load 20 million afterwards somewhere to be stored and look for application for things that are not even needed on such a scale by 'Latvian State Roads'.” #ŠodienasJautājums

Viesturs Kleinbergs (“Progresīvie”): “A temporary bridge is the best solution for several reasons. First, because it will allow us to repair the Vanšu Bridge faster, reducing the potential problems at a time when in 2028 there will be not only the Song Festival, but we will also be the presiding country of the European Union in the second half of the year.” #ŠodienasJautājums

I see, tomorrow to the third reading, a communist mess. Interesting whether the ruling coalition led by AS and @AndrisKulbergs will approve Judins' (JV) initiative to criminalize business with absurd prison sentences for possible prohibited agreements between entrepreneurs?

@Janis8578943573 Fact-finding = imitation of work.. just that..

@Chapis Criticism is in place. I would especially highlight both PIKs led by Kulbergs. What was the point, if nothing has changed. What has been done in 4 months? They promised that a lot could be done, there is not much time, but a lot can be done in time.. They will have to work in the summer too..

@JurgisLiepnieks My choice is NA, but I would also urge centrist voters this time to support LA, because the main election intrigue is whether a government can be formed without both Šlesers and Pro. Support for AS is sufficient even without your vote, whereas LA's entry/non-entry into the Saeima could be decisive.

@MinnaBremze @SandrisSabajevs @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs Where does the little troll work?😹

@CerinsAivis @SandrisSabajevs @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs The PM called an emergency meeting due to his own whim, not necessity. Everyone should do their own job and not meddle in others' work without need.

Any restriction of expenditure will, of course, affect current GDP. GDP already reflects current spending. Example from the Kalvītis floor-it period. Money flowed in streams, on credit. It was a good party. GDP grew at great cost. Nice? And then a severe hangover. I doubt that this scenario needs to be repeated. In my opinion. Of course, if borrowed money is not pumped into consumption, it will have a negative impact on today's spending (GDP). How much? Economists are trying to forecast it. But it will not be 1:1, because our spending also includes many imported goods. Purchasing imported goods has virtually no effect on GDP. Well, then you can look at scenarios. Whatever they may be. And then estimate the negative impact on GDP.

What GDP forecast do you see under this scenario, since it will inevitably also be affected by expenditure restraint?

@Vinotava @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs By no means is @AndrisKulbergs any kind of messiah, and he does not pretend to be one. Let everyone do their own job properly, and those sitting in the same boat won't have to squabble.

@CerinsAivis @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs We have a prime minister who imagines himself to be a messiah. There is no need here to build May gates and scatter mountains of petals on social media.

Support for Ukraine is Latvia's security policy. And that must be demonstrated with deeds. @Apvienotais_ has supported Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion — in municipalities, the Saeima, the government and the European Parliament. The 'Twitter convoy' led by Reinis Pozņaks continues to deliver the cars Ukraine so badly needs. The government has also made concrete decisions on military support. And last week in Kyiv I signed a cooperation memorandum between Latvia's and Ukraine's justice ministries to help strengthen the rule of law, the resilience of the judicial system in crises, and Ukraine's path to the European Union. This cooperation is mutual: we help Ukraine, and from Ukraine's experience we learn how to strengthen Latvia's security as well. 🇱🇻🇺🇦 🎥 Video: Delfi TV debate 'Next, please!' on Latvia's place in the world (23.09.)

@SandrisSabajevs @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs One more small remark — in my opinion, none of us here among those mentioned are against sanctions, let alone against those orc scoundrels. There is really no other way to call them👌

@CerinsAivis @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs Aivi, the PM said on TV3 that Latvia defended its interests and received France's assurance of help in strengthening our defense. If the neighbors' position was a surprise to the PM, why blame the Foreign Ministry? Taking a stand against oligarchs was Latvia's position, not a mistake.

@SandrisSabajevs @Braze_Baiba @AndrisKulbergs The reproach is that the PM has to do the direct duties of the MFA. Important duties! Diplomats' work is to handle such matters, not for the PM to call emergency Cabinet meetings. Am I wrong? Correct me if I'm not🤝

Nothing degrades politics and the public's trust in politics more than lies to voters. Especially in the pre-election period. 😤 It is clearly visible here how @AndrisKulbergs, knowing @Apvienotais_' conservative position on same-sex marriage, is deceiving the public. The party even later had to issue a statement to deny support for same-sex marriage. If they deceive on this issue, then on which other one?
