Remember Vineta Kutkeviča, former member of the Rīgas siltums council. Kulbergs' investigative committee found that her husband's company has been very successful in RS procurement and she left her post… to end up on the RAKUS council. @AndrisKulbergs when will this nightmare actually end?

By the way, a decent debate. Surprised. Outside pre-election populism. I recommend. https://t.co/X94tUXGsBj

🎙️ Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs on Latvian Radio 1 program “Krustpunktā” about the state budget, economic growth, security, and the future of Rail Baltica. “There will be no miracles. Before promising new benefits, we must answer how to cover the existing budget deficit and how to make Latvia earn more.” The previous government has prepared a budget with a shortfall of 238 million euros next year, and by 2030 this shortfall could grow to 1.3 billion euros. Andris Kulbergs emphasizes that the solution is not raising taxes, but reviewing state expenditures and economic growth. 🎧 Listen to the full conversation on Latvian Radio 1 program “Krustpunktā”: https://t.co/5lVfqZo47g #AndrisKulbergs #Krustpunktā #LatvijasRadio #APVIENOTAISSARAKSTS #MumsIrRisinājums #KulbergsIrRisinājums #LatvijaMumsIrRisinājums #7Saraksts #SaeimasVēlēšanas2026

I completely agree. This can be done with an 'iron coalition', as hopefully will be the next one. To create a budget that does not give money to everyone, actually stepping over the natural drive, but focuses only on those who are worst off.

@JanizBerzins @realNepareizais We technically can no longer sponsor AB. Even though it would be more advantageous than RS. And more unfair. If you don't understand that, I'm putting an end to it.

@guntarsv @realNepareizais Of course it is. The state regional transport budget, the RS budget through Riga or directly. AB brings money back, which cannot be said for pensioners or similar buses and RS.

@realNepareizais That's nice, but the budget doesn't have that option. Unless you cut, for example, health, education, or pensions.

68.8% of JV supporters agree that the state should continue investing in airBaltic, with similar views expressed by 65.4% of Progresīvie supporters and 58.4% of LA supporters. https://t.co/rad1gfNEUg https://t.co/NBk7xfZnRW

@GraudinsMaris We're manipulating a bit, dear sir.. In J Jūrmalgeita, absolutely no member of the Green Party appeared...

One thing is the Rīdzene talks, where Lemberga and Šlesers' votes ponder how to remake Latvian media into obedient oligarchs, but another thing is 'Jūrmalgeita', where Šlesers ponders how to bribe a Jūrmala politician to elect 'his' mayor. We sometimes forget that the Green Party included in Kulbergs' @Apvienotais_ list is one and the same party of the criminally convicted Gatis Truks, led by Edgars Tavars.

A good test for Trump is whether he'll conveniently ignore this report from Politico. The "mega-sanctions" bill could hit China for directly supporting Russia, but of course it's still not passed by lawmakers. But even existing legislation should ensure sanctions on Beijing. https://t.co/aQv0HdbUlJ

@realNepareizais I think it's a very good idea

Poland wants to achieve significant changes in the EU's approach to granting asylum on its external border. Warsaw proposes that the EU agree that people who cross the border in organized groups, using violence or damaging border infrastructure, would not have the right to international protection. Poland bases its position on Article 33(2) of the 1951 Geneva Convention. It allows, in certain cases, a derogation from the non-refoulement principle, which prohibits sending a refugee to a country where they face persecution. Warsaw wants to achieve a broader interpretation of this exception, applying it also to persons who, in an organized and violent manner, force the EU's external border. In practice, the implementation of such an approach would be particularly significant on the Poland–Belarus border. Warsaw does not consider the migration pressure from Belarus as an ordinary migration crisis, but as an element of a hybrid war carried out by Belarus and Russia. Poland wants to advance this issue at the EU level to achieve a unified approach across the Union. Thus, Warsaw's goal is to strengthen the principle that organized and violent crossing of the EU's external border cannot serve as a path to obtaining asylum in the EU.

To make the procurement system in Latvia more efficient, I will propose that from next year information about completed procurements must be published – this will save quite significant financial resources. https://t.co/s1xRg8vSak

Budget and finances — 33 positions Andris Kulbergs (@AndrisKulbergs): in the budget, larger revenues must be sought, because the rise in security spending must be covered; borrowed money must no longer go to consumption. Guntars Vītols (@guntarsv): neither linear cuts nor reducing the number of officials will solve the deficit. Jānis Hermanis (@J_Hermanis): Latvia is at a level that Estonia reached 14 years ago.

Maybe all money distributors should finally think not through Excel, but through the prism of people? In Latvia, every 5th person lives in poverty. What can I as a minister, advisor, etc. do to reduce this number?

@nord_studija @Apvienotais_ We live in a rule-of-law state; punishments are determined by the police, the prosecutor, and the court.

@AndrisKulbergs @Apvienotais_ From what I've read, the dogs were returned to their owners. Absolutely wrong. Euthanizing the dogs and immediate criminal liability for the owners, as well as compensation to the victims, would be exactly what would teach anyone who has a dog about responsibility.

INFORMATION ABOUT DOGS THAT BIT CHILDREN Dogs that bite children on the street must be euthanized if owners are unable to ensure their safe supervision. We live in a state governed by the rule of law, and this must be done in accordance with the law (the law stipulates that dogs that have caused harm must be put down). First, the police must provide a conclusion. The main responsible party is the owner. Every person who takes on a dog must be responsible for its socialization and training. As a person, a father of children, and a responsible dog owner, I believe that if you cannot ensure that your dog is not dangerous to others, you should not have that animal. And yes, unfortunately, the fate of these dogs must be decided and they must be put down. HERE IS PRECISE INFORMATION ABOUT TODAY'S SITUATION: Here is a brief summary of the dog case: * After the dog attack on September 4 in Carnikava, in which six children and a teacher were injured, the State Police has initiated criminal proceedings, while the municipal police has initiated administrative violation proceedings. After initial procedural actions, the dogs were returned to the owner. * From July 1, 2026, a new legal framework (amendments to the Animal Protection Law) is in force regarding dogs that have attacked a person. It provides for a special procedure for keeping such dogs, as well as conditions under which a dog must be euthanized. * Mandatory euthanasia is provided if a dog has caused serious bodily injury or death to a person and the dog's owner has been held criminally liable for violation of animal keeping rules - a court ruling has entered into force. Therefore, euthanasia is not automatic immediately after an attack. * For the practical application of the amendments, the Ministry of Agriculture had to develop Cabinet of Ministers regulations by July 1 on the keeping regime for attacking dogs. They provide for stricter requirements: muzzles, short leash, adult handler, and other restrictions, but the regulations have not yet been adopted. * The Ministry of Agriculture's delay is not the reason why the Carnikava dogs were not euthanized or were returned to the owner, but it means that the security regime provided for in the new regulation after a dog attack has not been fully implemented in the country. The Ministry of Agriculture bears political responsibility for this incompleteness of the regulation.

The case with the dogs is something terrible and such situations must not happen again. I feel for the victims and their families. Wishing a quick recovery! I will follow up to ensure that the PVD procedures regarding aggressive animals are carried out in accordance with the seriousness of the situation. https://t.co/EKdbvHxRKa

Mr. Lapiņš, your party NA is a coalition partner of the current government, which has voted on all AB issues and participates in consultations, evaluations, and decision-making. Your questions should be addressed to the previous government and to the entire JV leadership, MPs, finance ministers, and the SM. Currently this government is already dealing with the consequences to save AB, giving the last chance to implement the strategic plan and attract a strategic investor. Watch the video, read the news, and ask your colleagues. Please direct the outrage about AB to Siliņa from JV and Briškens.

Day No. 71 (Friday) in the prime minister’s seat ✈️—airBaltic: the new, expensive short-term private loan Let everyone be clear. The choice is between saving airBaltic or continuing to be a bad owner without money. As prime minister, I do not want the state to continue being a bad owner. We trust the professionals, the management board, the supervisory board and Kozlovskis. The plan was brought to the government, we approved it, anchored it in law, which provides for it. I have been saying for a month that decisions are in the hands of bondholders. In this loan, the state does not invest money in @airBaltic. The loan is private short-term financing (secured bondholders and a private fund without collateral cover) that gives Transport Minister Kozlovskis (JV), airBaltic management and the supervisory board 180 days to finally put the company in order and attract a strategic investor. 💶 The new loan is expensive because it reflects airBaltic’s real financial situation. It is in fact the last chance to save the company. In 2024, during Siliņa's government, airBaltic borrowed 380 million euros in very expensive bonds. Even then, this money was supposed to serve to put the company in order. But over two years the money was burned—costs were not cut, the number of aircraft/routes was not reviewed, and finances and debts were not put in order. The result is logical: the next money is even more expensive because lenders see the company’s current risk. 📌 Note — the new private loan’s interest rate is lower than the 30 million euro state loan supported by Siliņa's government and PRO in APRIL (without a plan, without a rescue strategy). Why lower? Because this government reduces the government’s role. It effectively removes the risk that the state as owner could behave inadequately. Immediately the market is ready to provide funds for restructuring. My position on airBaltic has been clear for a long time: 1️⃣ airBaltic’s future is now largely in the hands of bondholders, not shareholders. 2️⃣ The state as owner and airBaltic management could have put the company in order while it still had money. Weak cooperation between company management and political leadership also led to the fact that the then IPO plan was not realized. 3️⃣ This created a situation where the company has a weak financial position, but the owner—the state—has no free money with which to save the company. 4️⃣ If the state as owner has neither the resources nor sufficient experience and knowledge to pull the company out of a severe financial situation, then the state alone cannot save the company. (ZZS @ViktorsValainis understands very well and knows that Lufthansa refused and does not want to finance AB) 5️⃣ That is why the airBaltic management board and supervisory board, together with Seabury, have developed a plan to stabilize the company’s financial situation with the help of private financial investors—in principle without state money. 6️⃣ For this plan to be implemented, the state must let professionals work and must not create additional obstacles. This is the plan submitted to the government by Transport Minister Kozlovskis, which the government has accepted and for whose implementation the necessary legal framework has also been adopted. 7️⃣ 💼 Financial investors evidently believe that within six months the company’s finances can be put in order sufficiently for airBaltic to continue its development and attract a strategic investor. 8️⃣ Now Transport Minister Kozlovskis and the airBaltic supervisory board, which represents state interests, must do everything possible in these 180 days to attract a strategic investor for whom Riga is important as the main base. 🇱🇻 Latvia needs an investor who sees airBaltic’s long-term development specifically in Latvia, with its main base and jobs. Ideally, it would be a partner alongside whom the Latvian state could also retain or acquire a stake in the company in the future. 9️⃣ This is now the direct responsibility of the Ministry of Transport, Minister Kozlovskis and the airBaltic supervisory board. I will ask for regular reports on the potential investors approached and progress of negotiations. ⚠️ I am not satisfied with the current pace of approaching investors. We must get it together. These 180 days must not be wasted.

Hello, thanks. Today in Rēzekne is the National Armed Forces Industry Day. Brataševičs also attended, he wanted to read something from a paper. As I understand, the organizers did not let him near the microphone. 👍
