Met with the new PM of 🇺🇦. Our conversation came together very quickly because we both come from the private sector, from business, from leading large private companies. We are about numbers, deals, cooperation, and results. We quickly got down to business and addressed mutually beneficial/important issues of cooperation between our countries.

.@KoretskyiUA and Prime Minister of Latvia @AndrisKulbergs discuss strengthening defense and further support for Ukraine https://t.co/FdrvCarCyH https://t.co/7jPR9driCh

Hats off to our embassy 🇺🇦. You think it's an ordinary embassy.... no, there are Latvians with "balls", because our ambassador is the only one among 4x other world ambassadors who lives there with his wife on a daily basis. The others all change every month and don't live on site, because they are afraid of daily rocket and drone attacks. Similarly, our foreign affairs expert and colleague both live in Kyiv every day. They are the key for our services, foreign affairs, entrepreneurs and nationals to do everything to help Ukraine and our entrepreneurs and supporters.

The Prime Minister's @AndrisKulbergs first visit to Ukraine has concluded with a visit to the 🇱🇻 embassy in Kyiv. “🇺🇦 is fighting not only for its own freedom, but for our and Europe's security, for democracy, against evil. That is why the 🇱🇻 embassy has a special role in support and connection between our peoples.” https://t.co/INqZGSRzeH

@maijaroze_ @ltvzinas @LRZinas There is such a thing that responsibility for LSM lies with the Saeima commission, chaired by @ineselibina, which addresses the SEPL matter. The government doesn't really have a say in public media (as the law stipulates, not the old entrenched practice).

@ltvzinas @LRZinas @AndrisKulbergs How much longer will we allow the screaming incompetents on the LSM board to rummage through our strategic enterprises? They not only break laws, but had not even developed a crisis communication plan. And now they shift the blame onto a mid-level manager who is only an executor.

Taking responsibility is a funny thing - when the salary exceeds 5 thousand, immunity automatically kicks in and only a kick in the backside can overcome it. This is regularly demonstrated to us by members of all sorts of boards and councils...

This lady who inexplicably obtained an associate professor degree with 2 Scopus publications, now will be LU vice-rector! Simply madness. https://t.co/zqLyVkvOf7. It is also interesting that none of these “professors” have a Google Scholar profile, because then their inability would be as clear as day.

Pashinyan rather boldly arrested Putin's friend Robert Kocharyan. According to the investigation, Kocharyan acquired state property at reduced prices and registered assets in related companies. The investigation is also checking the transfer of 56 real estate properties to Kocharyan and large money transfers to his son's name. Robert Kocharyan is the Armenian Medvedchuk. Literally Putin's main adviser on the South Caucasus. It seems there will be no more compromises - the sides have fundamentally stated their positions.

It is unclear why CIA Director John Ratcliffe came to Moscow, but numerous theories about the purpose of the visit have already emerged. Putin’s schedule was changed because of Ratcliffe’s visit. 'The president had a major event scheduled for this Tuesday - hundreds of people were preparing for it. But a couple of days ago, it was postponed,' the Kremlin said. What is notable is that, amid the prolonged wait for visits to Kyiv and Moscow by President Trump’s usual envoys on efforts to end the war in Ukraine, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, it was Ratcliffe who arrived in Moscow. Along with Marco Rubio, Ratcliffe is often described as one of the leading 'hawks' in the U.S. administration and an advocate of tougher pressure on the Kremlin. Given this, some view Ratcliffe’s visit as a warning that the U.S. could harden its position if Russia continues to refuse to end the war in Ukraine. Another theory is that the visit is connected to Russia’s escalating hybrid war against Europe. U.S. media recently reported that American intelligence agencies were warning of possible Russian attempts to attack European NATO countries in order to 'test the Alliance’s unity.' We will likely learn in the near future how the talks ended and what issues were raised - though probably only partially.

Ministries will have to submit an assessment of the usefulness of large public procurements by the end of September, the Cabinet of Ministers decided today following a proposal by @Finmin. Each ministry and each minister must be be able to clearly show that the planned procurements are useful and justified.

What is that?

An American Boeing C-17 Globemaster III military transport aircraft unexpectedly landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport this morning, according to Flightradar24. The aircraft departed from Camp Springs, Maryland, the service’s data show. Joint Base Andrews is located there, where U.S. presidential aircraft are based. The reason for the U.S. military aircraft's visit to Moscow remains unknown. This may indicate non-public contacts or negotiations.

@DavidsZalans Overall, the SAFE 3.5b€ loan is a decision under Siliņa's government. Refusing it would mean a total vacuum in defense... there were no options, defense is a priority

Do I see correctly that under Siliņa the debt grew slower than under @AndrisKulbergs ? https://t.co/tMrhFwngNL

@Rajevskis I'll play back exactly for you what the Latvian position is and how these EU sanctions were adopted. What exactly do you want to say?

@AndrisKulbergs However sad it may be, I am not confusing anything :(

Filip, you're mixing something up here. Hungary and specifically Orbán was the one who normalized and prevented many 🇷🇺 from being put on sanctions. Latvia has always been for putting all supporters of 🇷🇺 aggression on sanctions. In the 21st sanctions package, the 🇷🇺 sports minister was specifically put back on sanctions.

Thanks to Latvia's support, Russia's normalization in sports is directly happening. At the moment when Latvia supported the release of the sports minister from sanctions. Ask your foreign minister how that happened. https://t.co/Z76iTV2id8

Sergiy Shakun from the Ukrainian army is shocked by the audacity of the Progressives... In Ogre, the infamous Andris Sprūds, for whom Ukraine is a project, runs up to the Ukrainians, briefly talks, but meanwhile PRO films everything and puts it in their political advertisement. The Ukrainian's complaint is both that he was included in a political advertisement without asking permission, and that it is done by a person who has never helped Ukraine. Now the Ukrainian army man demands that the Progressives remove him from their political advertisement. We'll see if PRO is adequate.

The company manager who works on the Waterfront project takes a short interview with Šlesers. But looking at that person's TikTok account, we see that we have before us a fan of “🇷🇺Wagner” and Russian fascism. @AinarsSlesers @LatvijaPirmaja will there be any comment? @Valsts_drosiba https://t.co/eEsjS40cI3

The video maker is obviously not a local. In Dagda there are no traffic lights anywhere, also in Zilupe or Viļaka or Kārsava... and in many other small towns. And the fact that after the storm there was no electricity for a while is not the end of the world.

Yesterday on TikTok I came across a video where a vatnik drives through some Dagda and, of course, comments on the situation. The situation, of course, pleases other vatniks. The situation is certainly also noticed by some foreign intelligence bureau in some Lubyanka in some Moscow. Total blackout. That means that the situation with civil defense is in the rear. Corruption and the cancer of Unity in all its glory. Or rather, in pitch black darkness. Because the so-called state, which the bureaucrats of Unity&Co progressive parasites-degenerates call themselves, cannot provide anything anymore, even to a minimum. Jēkabpils, Līvāni, Preiļi, Dagda and so on - but, well, yes: it is far from Riga and Latvia ends around Ogre. Oh, no - Ogre also sat in blackout. But the talk is not so much about blackout - the story is about the inability of municipalities and the state to provide even the minimum. Unlike Ukraine, which Latvians mockingly called and call a very corrupt country, but in Ukraine somehow that civil defense nevertheless quite noticeably began to work pragmatically and coordinated, in real war conditions. But we here don't even have a war, we don't even need a war to perfectly visualize that Latvia has been eaten by corruption and power self-satisfaction much more than Ukraine.

Two ways to solve Ukraine's budget deficit in the military sphere: 1. Prevent Russia from receiving money and equipment to produce missiles 2. Solve Ukraine's ability to timely destroy ballistic missile launcher systems

Latvia’s PM Andris Kulbergs: Hormuz is giving an injection into the economy of Russia. That all ends up into missiles. That ends up on the ground of Ukraine. And we still see components involved in these missiles from the West. We have to fully stop the component sale to Russia in order for them not to build missiles, in order for us not to give so much unnecessary support for missiles back to Ukraine.
