🇱🇻✈️💰 Without new capital, "airBaltic" will not survive this winter, stresses "airBaltic" board member and financial director Vitolds Jakovļevs. He noted that "airBaltic" has completed all flights this summer, but also admitted that without the government loan granted in April, there was a scenario where the airline could have ceased operations already in June. Here officials must answer criminally for what they have done, and then maybe Graf's excellent corporate governance inserts will finally feel that there are no 'sacred cows'. The question is only how to measure material losses - possibly clients will start demanding compensation. https://t.co/xlRVdN9pCc

This is not only about resignation, this is about criminal liability. Article 197 of the Criminal Law provides for criminal liability for negligence, Article 319 for inaction of a public official. Both articles require significant harm, and the leak of personal data of 1.2 million people cannot be insignificant both overall and with respect to each member of society. If @Valsts_policija could see significant harm in @elnormous's actions, then there should have been processes long ago. Every member of society from these 1.2 million who believes that significant harm has been caused to them by the failure to protect data is to be recognized as a victim. President A. Bērziņš after the Zolitude tragedy in 2013 said that we live in an amorphous system where no one is responsible for anything. It is already 2026 and are we really going to continue in the same spirit?

Maybe you will finally talk with your own JV party leaders and learn all the info — whoever asks this question gets answers.... all the answers and explanation have already been provided. Start finally talking inside JV, otherwise it is unclear whether anyone at all controls the party for you, or everyone is going solo.

With the government's arguments, rejecting the prosecutor's protest in the wood processors' case, one still cannot become acquainted. @AndrisKulbergs expects that the info will be provided by @prokuratura_LV. The prosecutor states that he cannot do it because it is not clear what is confidential in the government's answer. Prime Minister, what is there to hide? https://t.co/xRNpT4kB7z

@IvoButkevics We wrote it the day before yesterday, polished it yesterday. The Budget Committee just approved it, we'll see what the Saeima says tomorrow. Maybe they'll tweak something.

A new 'airBaltic' financial stabilization law will be created. https://t.co/9ipmaIx8HL

The security of the Saeima elections is ensured by Latvian State Forests, TET and LMT. LVM got hacked themselves, in the CSDD case TET as a service provider failed to protect the data. Now all that remains is to wait what LMT will surprise us with. Maybe now in that purchase affair they will be able to beat the price down substantially?

The resignation of boards and councils will in no way improve the country's image. Today there must be a criminal process to establish those responsible for this crime. Latvia's Criminal Law provides for liability for negligence of a state official in Article 319. https://t.co/I9Ezz9yIn4

🚨 NATO has reportedly mapped out a scenario for war with Russia: Kaliningrad among key targets, strikes could extend deep into Russian territory. According to Bild, the Alliance is working on a response plan in case Russia attacks the Baltic states. The first stage would involve suppressing Russian missile systems, drones, and air defenses, with particular attention paid to the Kaliningrad region. Along the borders with Russia and Belarus, NATO reportedly wants to create an “autonomous zone” where advancing forces would be met primarily by drones and robotic systems rather than soldiers. The next stage could involve special forces and long-range weapons striking airfields, military factories, bridges, railways, and warehouses inside Russia. The concept also reportedly includes deploying robotic systems behind Russian lines and supporting Russians opposed to the Kremlin. Bild says the details were made public deliberately: the idea is to make Moscow understand in advance what a Russian attack on NATO could trigger.

@AivarsOzo @AndrisKulbergs Mr. Ozoliņš, this question of yours has already been answered multiple times. In 2022, they also tried to attach 'god's signs' to us. Just now @AndrisKulbergs formed a government without LPV votes, although many - especially JV supporters - were shouting about it. What is your second question?

@jureits @AndrisKulbergs I am. But the talk is about your party. Will AS make a decision dangerous for Latvia because the decisions once made by other parties can be questioned? You don't decide yourselves? Maybe then delegate decision-making to Jurēvics, Šuvajevs, Indriksone, or directly to Šlesers, so that voters have peace and clarity about whom to vote for.

Consequences of the CSDD cyberattack. Given the massive leak of private and legal data and the potential scale of harm and consequences for the country's residents and national security, I call on the @CSDD_LV board and council to resign from their positions themselves! I suggest you think now not about yourselves, but about the reputation of the institution and the state. https://t.co/IBUOgPQcBg

Day No. 57 in the prime minister's chair (Thursday) – Sēlija training ground; anti-drone explosives; Recipe+; Olpha pharmaceutical plant. I have fallen behind on daily reports – here will be from Thursday. 🎖️ 🛰️ Sēlija training ground and armed forces procurement. I visited the Sēlija training ground together with Defence Minister R. Melnis. One of the conclusions after talking with the National Armed Forces and the minister – the old-style procurement procedures no longer work for the Armed Forces. We need to understand what military capability the customer wants to achieve – competition for equipment no longer works, but competition for capabilities does. We need to shift from purchasing to “subscription”. Technology is changing faster than ever, and our thinking must change along with it. There is also the question of the State Audit Office. The Armed Forces @Latvijas_armija fear that the State Audit Office could turn against them if the “wrong” drones were purchased. This needs to be resolved so decisions aren't stalled out of fear. ⚙️ The main challenge – how to integrate hundreds of new offensive and defensive technologies into a single command system. This is one of the most complex issues to solve around the world. NATO, together with manufacturers, is working on such a system that would allow greater reliance on equipment and less on personnel. After visiting the Sēlija training ground, I discussed with the National Armed Forces the situation where drones were purchased without warheads. It is absurd to think that the National Armed Forces will themselves fit the drones with explosives. That is not the Armed Forces' task. I changed clothes in the forest on the way :) and went straight from the training ground to the topping-out ceremony for Recipe Plus' new logistics centre. 💊 Recipe Plus logistics centre. I am always ready to be present when Latvian companies develop and invest private capital (+€20m). This is not an ordinary logistics centre. It will be a unique, automated solution. Availability of medicines is critically important even in crisis situations, and such a warehouse is essential for that. It is Latvian companies that will ensure our access to medicines in such situations – production, distribution, storage under any crisis conditions. Such a modern, automated logistics centre has not yet been built in our region. 🧪 Olpha plant. I also visited the Olpha plant. We have enormous potential in producing chemical raw materials for medicines. Currently EU, US and world drug manufacturers have become dependent on India's monopoly on pharmaceutical raw materials, and in many places in Europe this infrastructure has disappeared. In Latvia we have the resources and knowledge to expand both exports and production in this global niche. We need to work on universities training ever more specialists for this sector and strengthening our position in Europe and the world.

There must be a lesson and consequences. Irresponsibility and comfort in processes and meetings is the code of state administration. At all levels. That comfort must be eradicated. But not everywhere is like that, there are exceptions. But exceptions are now endemically leaving the state administration. Revolutionary rambling on social media, if supported, only facilitates that. It is a mirror problem.

The cyberattack on the information systems of the Road Traffic Safety Directorate and the massive data leak is a significant threat to national security. CSDD's reputation and public trust in this institution have been undermined. Under these circumstances, CSDD's leadership must not continue its work.

The economy (welfare) works differently. Prices cannot be influenced in any way. Communists have always tried that and driven hundreds of millions of people into poverty. Into hopelessness. The only way out is to become richer. Reduce state regulations and allow people to live, fight, and succeed. As much as each one can. You consider people in Latvia to be victims and weaklings.

How are policymakers addressing the cost of living in Latvia? And do all political forces even have an answer to it? For PROGRESSIVES, this is one of the priority policy issues. New CSP data show that in 2025, average household consumer spending in Latvia reached €619 per month per household member. In Riga it was €781, but in the regions €524. We spend the most on food at 24%, housing at 16%, and transport at 12%. Together, these three items make up more than half of household consumer spending. This is exactly where government policy needs to deliver a tangible result. But there is another fundamental question: is Latvia's problem too-high prices or too-low incomes? The answer, of course, is both. We need to find ways to reduce costs and promote competition in food, housing, energy, and transport markets. But price policy alone will not be enough. Fuel, a car, a phone, or a plane ticket in the EU single market cannot cost proportionally to Latvian wages. The prices of many goods are similar across Europe, but our people have to work longer to buy them. Therefore, in the long term, the cost-of-living issue inevitably becomes a purchasing-power issue. This means higher productivity, investment, and higher wages. The goal should be simple: food, housing, and mobility should take up a smaller share of a person's income, and after paying for basic needs, a family should have more left over. https://t.co/SchA3Eb5Lv

He wrote about the Russians. That is also relevant for our 'Eastern Latvian territories' — “Land matters when there are people living on it. When the neighbors around it are friendly. When, because of both, it brings the people living on it economic benefit and prosperity.”

@AivarsOzo @AndrisKulbergs Vienotība also said before the last elections in 2022 'clearly and unambiguously' that it would not go into government with ZZS. I don't remember if you have pointed this out to them? 🫤

@jureits @AndrisKulbergs 'I don't see a possibility...' Two days before they saw it. Tomorrow they will say that Šlesers is good, if without potato salad. And they will repeat that the 'voter' will decide everything. There has been no AS decision that the alliance will not be with Šlesers' LPV in the next government. Why is it so difficult to say that clearly and unambiguously?
