As a result of many years of purposeful work, Liepāja has created ever new technology parks and attracted investments for the development of manufacturing. Thanks to the people of Liepāja, companies 'RK Metāls', 'Caljan' and the Center 'Rūre' for the valuable experience! https://t.co/UVi7ngugFS

«Someday Russians will begin counting losses. Why persist when you could have stopped the war in 2023, for example, or 2022, and gotten exactly the same territories?» — Mark Feigin, lawyer Video: Delfi Lithuania #Путин #Россия #война #политика #Украина https://t.co/mPKofmDCR9

@guntarsv @AZvejsalnieks @AndrisKulbergs During the first two months, regularly walking past the physical Innovation Cabinet, I haven't met a single person there. An invitation has been sent to come to the workplace and tell what they do.

@evita_purina @BaibaStrautmane LDDK participated in several EU programs. I remind that LDDK is not an ordinary organization, it is a confederation with official status and representation in EU and world organizations. LDDK has clearly stated that it can refuse any EU fund financing.

@AndrisKulbergs @BaibaStrautmane You are wrong about LDDK. Here is the state and EU co-financed four-year project of LDDK. Strengthening the organization's strategy and capacity, participation in working groups. https://t.co/Ks5qqcWUs9

LDDK, just like the Auto Association, has historically applied for EU-funded training programmes, where it serves as a qualifying umbrella organisation to provide them to the employees of its member companies. For AA members, it was for raising the qualification level of mechanics and other training = precisely raising knowledge to improve productivity and increase revenues. As a journalist, you should be able to tell an apple from a pear.

@AndrisKulbergs @BaibaStrautmane Is LDDK (which has long received state and EU money) an independent organization?

🇵🇱🇺🇦 FM Radosław Sikorski: “Russia didn’t win the Crimean War. It didn’t win the Russo-Japanese War. It didn’t win WWI. It didn’t win the Battle of Warsaw. It didn’t win in Afghanistan. And it didn’t win the Cold War.” The idea that Russia cannot be defeated is propaganda. https://t.co/mz56oMofo6

A Russian woman says: "To every f*cking bastard who supports this war, waits for the 'SMO' to achieve its goals, and still wants this bloodshed: go fight in it and die there!" May everyone who started this war be cursed. But I curse even more those who keep it going." https://t.co/8bGjDe95l3

@BaibaStrautmane I can already say this clearly = they cannot be independent industry organizations if they receive state funding for a long time. Period. I have already spoken about this before. This issue needs to be resolved.

I hope to live to see the moment when our talkative prime minister will be forced to admit that all the parasite organizations of the “silage tower” are “shit and manure”:) https://t.co/sZApyfnwc8

The Livs are not just a part of our history – they are the indigenous people of Latvia and one of the founding nations of our state. Therefore, our duty is not only to preserve the Livonian language and culture, but also to strengthen the people who care for their future every day. Together with the University of Latvia's Livonian Institute and Valts Ernštreits, we will create an annual award for special contribution to the development of the Livonian community, strengthening the Livonian language, culture, and identity. This award will be gratitude to people and works that, often without broad public attention, help preserve and develop an integral part of Latvia's identity. Latvia is the only homeland of the Livs. We have a duty to ensure that the Livonian language, culture, and traditions are not only preserved, but also continue to live and develop for future generations.

🇱🇻 The security and efficiency of the justice system directly affect every resident of Latvia. Our priority is to create a justice environment that is safe, modern, and able to operate continuously even in crisis conditions. At the same time, investments must help prevent the causes of crime, reduce recidivism, and provide people with faster and more convenient services. That is why in the next period's investment portfolio, security, resocialization, digital resilience, and service quality are interconnected priorities. That is why we have identified an investment need of €140.4 million for the next EU funds period. Our priorities: 🔹 more modern and secure prison infrastructure; 🔹 less recidivism by strengthening resocialization; 🔹 cybersecurity and artificial intelligence solutions in the justice sector; 🔹 creation of a safe home for children and youth; 🔹 more modern forensic examinations; 🔹 development of e-case and faster digital services. ‼️ Do not spread complete nonsense. The Brasa prison is closed. And it is no longer a prison. The question on the agenda right now is what to do with this territory! Most of the buildings are demolishable and the place is excellent for creating important and significant buildings and services for the public in the future.

The desire to create a safe home for children and youth in a prison, as executed by @EdvardsSmiltens, is still epic... Epic, cynical and symbolic. https://t.co/hL9RpFVuAH

The child must be at the center of the entire child protection system. That is why the role, responsibility and cooperation of each institution must be clearly defined. 🤝 The orphan's court should not be the first institution to become involved in solving family problems. Its main task should be to protect the rights and interests of children, as well as persons in guardianship and custody. At the same time, careful consideration should be given to which functions should be retained in the orphan's court and which could be provided by other institutions. I believe that a unified information system is also needed to identify risks in time and coordinate support for the child and the family. I met with Baiba Meldere on these issues. Thank you for her long-term work in the orphan's court, accumulated experience and valuable conversation!

The main task of orphan courts is to protect the interests of children, not to perform functions that notaries can do professionally. By transferring notarial activities to notaries, orphan court specialists would have more time and opportunities to focus on complex family situations, promptly identify risks and help children who need this support the most. We need to clearly set a priority: the child must be at the center of orphan courts' attention! 👧🏼 Video author: LTV Rīta Panorāma (06.08.2026)

Many people are annoyed that companies or individuals get registered at their property, and then they have to fight and prove that it happened without their permission. That shouldn't be the case! ❌ To prevent such situations, the Ministry of Justice is working on amendments to the law that would stipulate that a company's legal address can only be registered in another individual's property with the owner's consent. Our duty is to protect the rights to property and the inviolability of private life guaranteed by the Constitution! Video author: LTV Rīta Panorāma (06.08.2026)

👧🏼 The interests of every child must be properly protected, and the state must be able to provide support in time when it is most needed. Together with representatives of the Regional Development Center and the Association of Municipalities, we agree that the child rights protection system must be purposefully improved, more clearly defining the responsibility of institutions and prioritizing the child's interests. The main task of orphan's courts must be the protection of children's rights and interests, not the performance of duties that can be professionally provided by other institutions. Therefore, the possibility of transferring notarial functions performed by orphan's courts to notaries should be evaluated. This would allow orphan's court specialists to devote more time to complex family situations, promptly notice risks, and help children who need support the most. At the same time, any changes must ensure that legal services remain available throughout Latvia, including in the most remote regions, without creating additional costs or unnecessary obstacles. The system must serve the child and the family. That is the main principle of our future work.

🗳️ Our duty is to ensure that even in emergency situations, every voter has the opportunity to exercise the right to vote guaranteed by the Constitution! That is why we at the Ministry of Justice developed and the Saeima adopted amendments that will allow extending voting time at polling stations on October 3 until 23:59 if voting is significantly disrupted in an orange warning situation. I invite every resident, especially those living in the border region, to take advantage of the opportunity to hand over their vote for safekeeping on the preceding days. ℹ️ From 28 September 2026 until election day, it will be possible to deposit your ballot at all polling stations in Latvia at the following times: 28.09. – 17:00–20:00 29.09. – 08:00–11:00 30.09. – 17:00–20:00 01.10. – 08:00–11:00 02.10. – 12:00–15:00 Video author: LTV Rīta Panorāma (06.08.2026)
