@janisdombrava Thank you @janisdombrava for your work! Finally there IS an interior minister👍

Today in the Riga center area we organized a fairly large raid. In a few hours there have been arrests for theft and drug possession, fines for being intoxicated in a public place, problems with work permits and not knowing the state language, illegal immigrants have been detained. Everything is happening! We have problems with immigration control. Riga center is full of immigrants, but we need more border guards. The raid will continue. We will report on the results tomorrow.

Strong rule of law is the foundation of Latvia's security, democracy and growth! ⚖️🇱🇻 The European Commission's positive assessment is a significant acknowledgment of the professional work of the judiciary, law enforcement institutions and the entire justice sector. We are currently working with the judiciary on amendments to the law that: 1️⃣ will further strengthen judicial independence in matters of judges' careers and budget 2️⃣ will introduce a court lawyer institute, which will provide support to judges so that cases are processed significantly faster https://t.co/gzWYdbSfWC

🗳️ Democracy must be able to function even in difficult circumstances! ✅ Today the Saeima adopted amendments developed by the Ministry of Justice that will allow extending voting time at polling stations if voting is significantly disrupted in a situation of significant threat. This is an important step in strengthening Latvia's resilience. Our duty is to ensure that even in emergency situations every voter has the opportunity to exercise the right to vote guaranteed by the Constitution. A strong democracy means readiness to protect the election process in any circumstances! 🇱🇻

📍We need to find solutions to promote rail freight transport, making it more efficient and facilitating the recovery of the sector; 📍A significant issue is finding funding for teachers' salaries; I discussed these and other issues with representatives of the Latvian Free Trade Union Confederation https://t.co/d27j1nAMdL

A court ruling must be not only fair, but also implemented in a timely manner! ⚖️ That is why, together with the Latvian Council of Sworn Bailiffs, we continue to improve the court ruling enforcement system: ✅ reducing bureaucracy by simplifying the debt recovery process in cases of company restructuring; ✅ promoting wider use of the e-address to speed up document flow and reduce costs; ✅ improving the regulation to prevent evasion of court ruling enforcement. The goal is clear – faster, more efficient and fairer enforcement of court rulings, which strengthens trust in the rule of law and reduces the administrative burden for both citizens and businesses.

@ineselibina Shall we open the topic about the botch and the ex-Minister's responsibility in these Unity Evika Siliņa government decisions, your opinions and their quality in the context of this scandal? About the received inheritance, its causes and consequences that the new @AndrisKulbergs government now has to deal with? https://t.co/o8i4dR2Kxi

Severe personal disappointment and a legal botch. Very weak, Mr. Prime Minister. I cannot believe that what was said has a non-political approval from @Tieslietas! https://t.co/XujfSAfZBo

🌐 The Cabinet of Ministers has supported draft laws prepared by @Tieslietas that will introduce the EU e-evidence regulation. It will allow to significantly speed up the obtaining of electronic evidence in cross-border criminal proceedings – up to 10 days, and in urgent cases up to 6 hours. The Cabinet of Ministers approved the government's action plan, which also sets out the Finance Ministry's work priorities during the current government's term: reviewing state budget expenditures, streamlining the public procurement system, and reforming the municipal financial equalization system https://t.co/hmNc5eSFDj

@suvajevs @JekabsRasnacs If cutting state funds for illegal migrant supporters and their integrators is called an attack on civil society, then it's hard to understand with which body part this opinion is being produced. Soriii..Andri.

This week the conservative coalition's political agenda finally became clearer: - attack civil society; - attack scientists and academic freedom. All the big issues - AB, RB, budget - have been set aside to whip up the public with these 'priorities'.

Clear understanding of the need to introduce a new municipal funding equalization system. An important meeting with representatives of municipal organizations to discuss changing the funding model, which in the long term would preserve the ability of municipalities to provide all services throughout Latvia https://t.co/RtKhmkdvyy

How does cooperation with businesses work in administering tax and duty collection, and what challenges do customs officers face in today's geopolitical conditions, but most importantly – how could this work be further improved. Less bureaucracy, faster services and a modern state administration – these are the concrete results we are working on together with the State Land Service. Upcoming improvements: ✅ from 1 October, information about shelters will be available on the portal https://t.co/XnsMopgSXs, providing residents with more convenient access to civil protection information; ✅ with the 'Vietvaris' project, the coordination of place names and addresses will be shortened from the current 2–3 months to about 10 days. At the same time, we continue to improve the unified building registration process and strengthen the capacity of @ZemesDienests, developing modern infrastructure in the regions. The State Land Service has proven that with innovation, digitalization and high cybersecurity standards it is possible to create more efficient public services for the benefit of society.

ℹ️ Since July 1, the first fully automated court process in the compulsory enforcement warning procedure has been in operation in Latvia. In simple and undisputed cases it allows decisions to be made faster, while judges can devote more time to hearing complex cases. The Court Administration (@tiesuadm) has outlined the next priorities for court digitalization. After the successful completion of the second development phase of e-case, we continue to improve the Court Information System, strengthen cyber security and develop digital services. E-case is not just a technology project. It is a change that makes court work more efficient, services more accessible and strengthens public trust in the rule of law. At the same time, we continue to strengthen the resilience of the judicial system: ➡️ we are improving cyber security solutions; ➡️ developing solutions for the continuity of court work; ➡️ continuing to implement the reform of court assistants. The goal is a modern, secure and efficient judicial system that works for the people.

A competitive economy starts with a predictable legal environment! ⚖️ The Ministry of Justice is advancing solutions that reduce bureaucracy, ensure a clear regulatory framework, and strengthen the competitiveness of Latvian companies. With the Confederation of Latvian Employers, there are clear shared priorities for improving the business environment: ✅ Implementation of EU labour law directives without additional administrative burden beyond EU requirements; ✅ Proportionate competition law regulation, ensuring a balance between effective supervision and business development; ✅ A more efficient administrative process, including introducing the principle 'pay faster, pay less' to reduce administrative burden. A predictable regulatory framework and close work with social partners are the foundation for a stronger investment environment, greater enterprise competitiveness, and sustainable growth of the Latvian economy.

Currently intensive work is underway to streamline the procurement system in Latvia, reducing state spending in the long term, preventing corruption opportunities, and also reducing bureaucracy. It is not normal if buying the needed item simply by going to a store turns out to be more advantageous than conducting a procurement.

Well, actually an analogous entity to Altum, which has shown its effectiveness and results. There's no need to create a bunch of positions, I agree. But a fund would shorten the money path to the region👍

@TasPatsAtis @GirtsRungainis In that discussion there was also @UldisBikis, whose company Latvijas Finieris is an excellent example that Latvian wood receives high added value when exported. Happy about their work!

@CerinsAivis @GirtsRungainis An agronomist declares himself an expert in gynecology, an investment consultant - an expert in nature protection. Cutting down and selling cheap is not art. Dadz, it would be more valuable to export products instead of raw materials.

As they say, you'll be remembered for the rules you broke, not for the good work done. I'm not anyone's lawyer here, but there are connections in the Ogre and Valmiera scandals. Both cities thrive while others languish. I'd love to hear other opinions on this. https://t.co/F4rDD0YEZy

🔵 #AfterAudit we conclude – Ogre Municipality has not ensured transparent and responsible management of public funds and property. 💼 We found systemic deficiencies in financial management, procurement, development planning, operation of municipal agencies, remuneration, and allocation of funding to associations. 💼 The audit also found signs of fraud risk, which we reported to law enforcement and other supervisory authorities. 💼 The audit also found inappropriate use of public funds amounting to at least 443 thousand euros. 📢 We gave Ogre Municipality 3 recommendations to strengthen governance quality, transparency, and responsible use of public funds. ℹ️ Learn more: https://t.co/OSI1SGtIdy ℹ️ Audit report: https://t.co/Qeblv3vVmS
